I was expecting a lot more of a factory tour and a lot less time of people sitting around a table and talking in one room.

I had about 35 minutes of "assembly" scattered about the interviews in this one as the people component was important to me. I'll be returning to Sweden this summer to film another that's "process" focused that will be rich in assembly & manufacturing. Best, Steve

@@AEAC Let me go with you. I am a manufacturing expert, (In fact, with 6 months there, I can actually help them with their production and quality),---and I can understand what the shop guys are talking about for a much more in-depth questioning and understandable interview than a sales guy can do.
So far, FX? I have not been sold. I think their fluid dynamics engineering is outstanding, one of a kind right now, (about "20", over 100fpe, .35 cal. shots on one fill? Nobody thought that was possible.). I also now the quality and structural design has to be perfect for a lot of o-rings, and I know how hard it is to find employees who care enough, and good process engineers to develop good enough process's to achieve that perfection. If they are as good as you salesmen say,---I can show it. They will have to pay me more than they pay you, but it will be worth it. :)

I wish I could have been lucky enough to have found a company like this when I was a young worker . I was a very focused and goal oriented worker with a love for guns . This would have changed my life in a very positive way to work in a factory of this caliber . You can tell they appreciate a good worker and take care of their employees . I still have a thirst for knowledge in this field . You are so lucky to have a sit-down with these men , take advantage of this and live it to the max . "Deeds not words "

Thanks Steve and the FX family for sharing this. very interesting and inspiring from many angles.Steve, great and well thought over questions.Fredrik and Johan, thanks for sharing your history and your future visions.Enlighting about company culture and very honest, for me as a Swede this part felt very sincere, we have a strong culture of taking care of each other and together we are stronger and together we are the foundation for success , maybe we got it from the Vikings...
Also appreciated the final parts of the video where Johan answered the question about working closely to content creators such as yourself, and answering just honestly and in a very Swedish way, yes, we all want to spread and make the word out of all the fantastic and great things that are happening in the airgun industry, and how to spread air gunning to a larger audience, because its so fun and the industri is bringing out such good and well working serious products to be experienced by a wider audience in the future.
That answer by Johan did really inspire me as a new content provider focusing on the Swedish market and regulations (10 joule-7,5 FPE) with my channel, -Swedish Airgun Forum, -to take my part in working harder for widening the interest here in Sweden, showing how fun air gunning really is and how easy accessible . We don't have recreational shooting here on this market with powder burners in that sense , so that´s making the airguns even more interesting for recreational and easy accessible and affordable shooting for the masses.
Thanks again for a very inspiring episode AEAC and FX, -did get some more and well needed steam to work on with my channel :D

Funny thing you asked about discontinuing of certain models of FX air rifles. I just bought my second Royale 400! No need to get rid of something that is “perfect” in form and operation.
Great interview and very insightful to the people behind the FX brand. It makes me proud to be an FX owner and in a small way be a supporter of their vision becoming reality.

@@AEAC Hey Steve....Like MANY have expressed before me ( I'm late to the party on this video) , thanks man.....The video was long but well worth seeing 3:44 am for!! Ha!! I too was wondering about older models and the market also due to the massive advancements, changes, and engineering driving the majority of the desires in shooters.....I guess like in the firearms industry & market....some just want revolvers vs. Semi-Autos.....some just want a bolt-action with not a large magazine vs. an AR-15 platform, some just want a break-action single shot......Maybe this concept with the Royal and the market is the Airgun emulating the powder-burning rifle to some degree in it's younger, prepubescent, state here in America......
If that's the case........I'm stoked. HEJA SVERIGE!!

Thanks Steve very well put together and great to see you nailing down the heart of what most successful companies that are in it for the long term are all about -"company culture..."You can see the drive and passion for airguns as opposed to profit, as it is clear that a huge amount of money is being pumped into R&D, Machinery and Expansion. I also like the fact that FX makes no bones about investing in and working with other passionate air gunners for the benefit of the sport and all of us...Rat Sniper, Element, FX Chrono etc...It is also good to see that the relationships are collaborative and not ego based when it comes to developing product lines from ideas generated by Mat, Ted, Giles etc... Great in depth view of the workings of FX and a glimpse on what the future may hold... Keep em coming...

I love the FX company, and I doubt anybody else called them hero's. The new Impact .35 is the next gun I want to buy, (and would have put in an order if Utah Airguns would have returned my call at the moment of impulse buying), but man, I got insulted by them with shadow banning me. I still may buy the gun, but that killed my "impulse".

My favourite gun is Hatsan because my first 'proper' air gun is a Hatsan Striker 1000S. 25. I will however state that I've gained a greater appreciation for FX. What a WOW. Striving for excellence & perfection and Fred's story is also motivational for entrepreneurs. Also, since I'm from Botswana (a country that neighbors South Africa, Matt's videos influenced me good)👌🏾

I like my Hatsan .30 cal break barrel gun. The quality is not the best, but it can shoot well and hit hard after you figure out how to control the shooting factors. But after I damaged a part and had to buy a new part, I found their service to be impossible for me. I am going to give the gun away to a friend of mine, and never buy a Hatsan again. Those Islamic guys are not very good for doing good business . They like the profits, (like communism stealing our free market from us), but skimp on service IMO.

Back in about 1986, I used to shoot competitively for Markyate ARC in the UK along with Terry Doe, John Ford, Mark Cammocio, Roger Cameron and the likes. It was John Ford who owned what is now called Sportsmatch who created the amazing GC2 precharged/ regulated air rifle. I believe that it was John and his GC2 that gave Mr. Axelsson a lot of inspiration to produce the amazing rifles that he does today.

This was a properly special video Steve 🙏🏻
More than anyone before you managed to peel away the veneer and get to what's underneath. And it seems to be father, son, passion, belief and good things for the most part, rather than 'evil corporation'. Funny how so many things people get angry about have good, simple reasons for happening that way.
I admit to having plenty of ongoing irritation regarding 'bought' youtubers myself. Granted several still seem to act like shills but from this it seems like blaming BMW for a few greasy representatives. One (among many) of the reasons you've come so far since the days when there were like 100 of us following you is your honesty and ability to show things as they are, and after this I'm more enthusiastic about my impact than I have been since I bought it.
    Cheers
    Greg

I'm an air cannon enthusiast attracted to the Impact™. Shooting golf balls ½ mile or more is a whole new league of fun. When we first started firing golfballs at Impact speeds, the things would go everywhere! I mean everywhere! Left, right, up, down...We solved the problem with one simple trick. Now, the balls fight to go straight. AirArmsHuntingSA's video about slug design had me drooling. So many ideas I wanted to try from the comfort of my TV room. ;-)
The other aspect about air cannon design is a quick dump valve. I'd love a video on what makes the FX valves quick acting.
Perhaps a PVC Impact is in my future? ;-)

I can only hope more people in Australia turn on to airguns now they're getting serious upgrades.
Australia's airgun industry/popularity is tiny, we don't get easy accessibility to a lot of items... If we do it's very expensive because of the small market.
Most shops here, PCP's are order in only. And The only hand pump I've seen offered anywhere is from Diana.
I'm a B&M shopper, I like to see and hold something before I lay down $2000+ for something.

I had a Daisy Red Ryder back in the 80s that a family friend gave me and I just recently started to get back into air guns. Once I saw the Power Precision and the quality I think it's worth it now. A few years ago it really wasn't worth it but now the quality has risen and I'm getting in. I ordered the Hatsan Neutronstar 25 caliber with scope and the air Venturi Nomad 2 portable refill compressor. I ordered a few things of slugs and riser mounts. I could not resist the look and feel of the NeutronStar. Overall beautiful PCP. I know everybody has their preference and this is just my entry into the game. I've done a lot of research and I will be looking into FX In the future. The Hatsan NeutronStar 25 cal today is my choice for many reasons. Price, Quality, Craftsmanship and attention to fine details. Overall package is unbeatable in my opinion. I absolutely love the FX lineup and as soon as I have the money I will be getting some of the top of the line. I have a feeling my collection will grow over the next couple years. Thanks to all the RUclips channels doing all the reviews. This channel here and his other channel are the two that I spend most of my time on. Very detailed very informative quality reviews.. I bought the Hatsan 135 .30 cal break barrel gun. The quality is not that great on my gun, but I fixed the main part, (kept breaking the front stock bolt. I have a small machine shop and designed/made my own.). That is the most powerful break barrel gun sold, and I screwed up. I put chamber lube in the compression chamber, and it damaged the piston seal. That is when I had the problem making me decide I will never buy Hatsan again. The only way you can get parts through Hatsan USA is to use a credit card over the computer, and I will never do that. Nobody answers the phone or your calls, and I simply can't get parts. Plus, they are in Islamic Turkey, and you are probably funding terrorism by doing business with them. It is clear to me they can't enjoy capitalism enough to give good service. After I buy this FX, I am going to give the Hatsan to a friend of mine. I did get the big springer shooting well though, (even to 70 yards well),----but the stars and planets had to be aligned. :)

Hello FX: Telephone service is back is style. It is the next best thing to being there still, and the best way to provide service. Please FX, for your USA retail branch, (FX-USA), please offer us prompt telephone service/assistance. I have a little business and answer my phone. Today, when it is so easy to blow off an e-mail and/or not have an effective conversation with more modern means of communication, the telephone call to a human being is a breath of fresh air to my customers, and they make sure to let others know how easy I am to contact in chat rooms. Real people on the phone. It is gold IMO. Glad to see Sweden did not shut down their economy due to the crapolavirus. I think you may be the only nation in the world run by "reason". As a manufacturing and quality engineer (with tons of machining exp), I love your facility, and your company. Well done FX! :)

Wow what an interesting story. I have been watching your videos for a few months now and this one is the best one to me. I still have a lot more of your videos to watch probably hundreds lol, you are a busy man. I got interested in guns about 15 years ago, but I wasn't aware of the air gun possibilities until recently. I am now interested in purchasing a pcp gun and was considering FX. This video clinched it. I am retired and on a limited budget so I will have to save up for it, But I see a Maverick Sniper in my future. Thank you for all of the info that you provide.

Thanks for a very long and good interview. It's always nice to see how a product is created, but also to get a atmosphere feel, how the working culture in this company are. As a Nordic person I'm not surprised of the equal respect from the Top to the Bottom / Bottom to the Top. Nobody is stronger than the weakest link. However we never forget who's the boss.
I did read though all of the question before I posted this, but I didn't see any asking to this.
One of FX big pride is the making of there own smooth twist barrel. @1:03:32 you see a worker bend a barrel strait. After the barrel has been created from the CNC machine, it should be 100% strait to less than 1/1000 of a millimeter.
Why does the barrels get out of adjustments?
Hopeful I will have the money to buy a Dreamline later this year, maybe the upgrade version will be out.

I can tell. The big guy shooting with Matt Dauber around 1:18, (Matt visiting), likes to work alone. I have worked with guys like that, "Get out of my work area.". They are not easy to make friends with on the job, but usually do pretty good work. :)

Never had an FX but I've always respected them.
I mostly shoot outdoor (sub 12ft/lb) target sports here in the UK (HFT/SFT/FT) and always wondered what FX would come up with if they did a full on target rig, the FT and HFT target rigs can be fairly specialised, many rigs are adapted 'normal' guns or even adapted 10m guns, even though these sports are growing world wide they are still a very small market so doubt FX would bother.
