    Very balanced presentation, what it omissed is that the most common kind of shirk today among Muslims is not calling on other gods, but give scholars legislative power just like Allah clearly warned us against. Another very common form of shirk you see everywhere is loving wealth and earthly power more than Allah, something most political and economic elites clearly do. It is for Allah to judge, but all who have eyes to see can see.

    There was a scholar who said that whoever prefers a non prophet over a Prophet has disbelieved, but... Shia say and have proof to show that Hadhrat 'Ali was greater than The Prophets of Allah, check this up, so just because someone says you have disbelieved because you have said so and so does not mean that.

      Islam is based on adherence to divine guidance. There's only room for opinions where the the texts don't give directions.

  • @ShadowOfSheikh

    Takfir is similar to a diagnosis. There's things that will take you out of Islam whether you're diagnosed or not. The person passing the ruling isn't doing "excommunication" they're diagnosing the condition ie passing judgement attempting to remedy it by counceling the person and giving them 3 days to repent if all else fails then the punishment is applied. They are labelled as apostates and treated as such.
    Faith in Islam is made up of three components: words, actions and belief in the heart. A Muslim judge cannot rule on someone based on what's in their heart. Only their actions and words are to be judged. Unlike the Christian inquisition torture, trickery and forced confessions aren't a part of the process. The judge attempts to remove the misunderstanding/confusion of the person by way of dialogue, gives them 3 days to rethink their position and if they don't repent they're executed as an apostate.
    Capital punishment for apostasy is a core part of Islam and had been practiced by the prophet Muhammad pbuh and rashidoon RA. It's only recent liberal interpretation of Islam that attempt to muddy the waters to audiences who are ignorant of Islam.

      I'm sorry, but that is patently False. . Everything you have identified were contrived by men, using Gods' Revelation as justification for their own selfish ends. The Quran itself disallows Muslims to judge who is a Muslim and who is not. There is no "ruling" or "judging" save for what man has contrived for his own ego and power. BTW: Your use of the word "apostate" is also incorrect. By definition Apostasy is " an abandoning of what one has believed in such as a faith, cause, principles, etc." By definition a person who has established his relationship with God by declaring the Shahadah and seeks to follow Islam to the best of his ability as God gives to him the ability to see right is not an "apostate". He has abandoned nothing....... except maybe compliance with what another person opines that individual should be doing. That seems to be what you are about.

      @@BruceWSims You have the most inconsistent ideology ever. You claim that making people comply with Islamic laws is wrong because everyone needs to have their own interpretation of Islam, yet you condemn MY interpretation of Islam as wrong. If there's no right or wrong interpretation of Islam how do you come to the conclusion that my interpretation (Which happens to be the mainstream understanding of apostasy) is wrong.
      Your irrational and illogical arguments are based on your initial flawed (or non-existent) understanding of Islam.

    Actually, I am a bit more confused now, than I was Before I watched the video. As a Revert of a few years I had always held in my Heart exactly what Dr. Shabir stated; the we cannot know another persons' Heart and only the Individual is able to put themselves out of Islam. Frankly I had thought that "excommunication" was an abberation rather than a recognized function. Now I am wondering how these two things......non-judgement and excommunication....can co-exist in the same Faith. If anyone has insights, it would be a blessing to me.
    Thanks in advance..

      I think it co exists in the way that islam allows a wide range if beliefs and opinions, as long as it operates within a spectrum. Anything beyond this is not tolerated e.g. belief in 2 gods. So if someones believes in 2 gods or jesus being god then he is (in theory) excommunicated.

    • @BruceWSims
      @BruceWSims Год назад

      @truemono7684 OK....but their "excommunication" would be self-performed, right? It would not be a judgement made by others, right?

    • @ZainKhancanada
      @ZainKhancanada Год назад +1

      @@BruceWSims it can be a judgement made by others as people cannot expect muslims to recognise those whos beliefs reside out of the fold of islam as Muslim. This isnt a matter of "judgement" as there can of course be complete respect for the other party in this, but a matter of classification of being in or out of the ummah. The only problem of course would be scholars coming to a consensus, because on one hand a certain group of wahhabis are quick to excommunicate anyone who doesnt prescribe to their exact brand of islam, even within the sunnism (such as the barelvis, deobandis, sufi orders, etc), let alone others in the ummah like Ibadis and Shia sects. On the other hand you have people who more than anything wish for unity that they do not properly abide by the Qur'an, such that they admit Alawites and Ahmadis despite how their beliefs take them well outside the fold of islam.

    • @BruceWSims
      @BruceWSims Год назад +2

      @ZainKhancanada Thank you, Brother. I think you cleared that up pretty well. I don't usually trouble myself too much about all of the groups that are graded as "in" or "out" of Islam. My own focus is to understand my Faith as best I can rather than being "told" what I believe.This whole idea of having "scholars" and authorities for a belief system that is not suppose to have any seems to be an on-going struggle for me. Thanks again.

    • @naturegirl4803
      @naturegirl4803 Год назад

      Islam is the belief system based on the parallelism of heart and mind. Some uncompromising doctrine of Islam are oneness of God, belief on all previous prophets (pbuh) and last prophet Muhammad (pbuh), life after death and judgement day for the conduct we did in this dunya that include bit of act done to harm or benefit fellow beings. No one is accountable to none except God and He knows the best. Yet the role of community is very important in Islam as a brotherhood of ummah., Since no Caliphate is present, scholars consensus is important that too in the light of Qur'an.

      @@criticalthinker1123 anyone who sincerely repents is forgiven? But the verse says anyone who repents AND becomes true believers. The “and” means there is a second step. One just can’t sincerely repent and be done. So what is a true believer? According to todays Muslims, one who believes in allh AND MOHAMMED IS HIS MESSENGER. The “and” literally associates Mohammed WITH allh. Furthermore, don’t u Muslims also believe u must earn ur salvation? How do u not understand that makes allh’s forgiveness redundant and unnecessary, yet conditional? As for 60:8, if that were true is lam wouldn’t be universally notorious for violence and persecution, but shall I quote all the verses that say to fight and kll in the name and cause of allh? What does “I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah…” mean to u? @@QueenQaffirYou're confusing yourself mixing different issues with each other regarding the fact that Allah SWT doesn't forgive kufr. you're mixing between worldy judgement and the hereafter. Critical thinker explained it perfectly. If you die in a state of disbelief in Allah SWT you will never be forgiven regardless how much good you've done. However, the Non-Muslims who repent (Like almost all of the Companions of the prophet pbuh), become believers and do good deeds will be forgiven and granted eternal abode in paradise. Muslims are commanded to fight the non-believers yes, but there's no compulsion in religion. Nonbelievers cannot be forced to become Muslim. They can live as protected dhimmis on their faith. If you knew anything about the history of Islam you'd know that is the reason why many Non-Muslim communities continuously existed under Islamic rule for over a thousand years.
      You make a silly assertion that belief in Prophet Muhammad pbuh is making him a partner to Allah SWT. It's laughable that your pagan beliefs affect how you view the Shahada. Prophet Muhammad pbuh is a Messenger and servent of Allah SWT. He's in no way a partner to the almighty in fact believing that takes one into kufr. He's a Messenger in the same way all of the Messengers prior to him were.
      You then go on to moan about Muslims fighting for their religion. You mention the apostasy law which is part of Islam. Which if you're a Christian who believes in the Bible you shouldn't object to since violence is endorsed there.
