Dear #Nokia, I'm writing as a life long Nokia fan. I would like to kindly share a message with you. We got your message, it's durable!Every now and than we need some spice in our life. I expected aggressive flagship killers. We lost LG this week, and I'm worried about you guys.
Hello Abdulla, Thank you for your review and comments in this video. I have been talking with some friends and Nokia lovers about the launch and new Nokia phones since yesterday. Some are happy some/most are not. I would like to tell a bit you my impressions on this event and new Nokia phones. First of all, the event and the new phones didn't creat a big thrill. The mid-range segment is already boring in phone world. And Nokia Mobile became the name of ordinary and mid-range phones for a long time. The last model we realy got excited was Nokia 9 PureView and you remember how big fiasco and dissappointmen it ended. So the fans had been waiting for a big jump and explotion from Nokia Mobile for more than 2 years. For this reason this event did not satisfy the expectations. My personal opinions on new series is that The X10 and X20 maybe very nice to use for many people, but the perception on the chipset Snapdragon 480 is really interesting. The processor can perform very well in this segment, but why did Qualcom gave this name to a new chipset? This is a very big mistake in marketing. And people mostly think it is a chipset of a few years ago. So this will effect of selling new Nokia models alot. The other thing, it is yes a subjective detail but I realy didn't like the colour of new Nokia models. They are dull colour and it doesn't engage attention at first glance. to me the most beautiful designed and the most beautiful coloured phone of HMD is Nokia 8.3. A great polar blue that's shining and this colour is specific to Nokia Mobile. At least they could choice more attractive colour options in X and G series. Hopefuly HMD Global makes progress in marketing to sell thise models. Because sales and marketing is an another area that HMD Global is not so strong. We are still waiting the big jump from Nokia Mobile. Hopefuly we see soon.
Yeah, because of the naming (snapdragon 480) people think that its old processor, but in fact its almost as powerful as SD 720 series. People need to think of intel processor series, i3 10th generation is better than i7 5th gen.
@@Kleiber90 I' m not comparing, just parable. I'm just use intel naming for an example. Intel i3 10th gen can be better than intel i7 3rd or 5th gen. Snapdragon 480 5G almost the same level with 720 series, and totally same level with 675 and 678, and almost better than 665 and 662. Because 480 is the newest SoC from the 4 series, and the other is older SoC.

Thank you for this video, I was particularly concerned by that SD480 chipset. For the X20 design I really expected thinner bezels especially in 2021, but then again it might have been another cost cutting compromise. Huge fan of the central selfie cam 👍🏾

BTW, Abdulla, "Salad of Components" was a nice touch😎👍😀
Speaking of design, I wonder if the reason they can't revive Fabula is that they don't actually own the patents for the Lumia designs? Last time I checked Microsoft still has them.
On 18 May 2016, Microsoft Mobile announced the sale of its feature phone business to HMD Global and FIH Mobile. The sale included design rights, and its rights to use Nokia brand on all types of mobile phones and tablets
Agree, apart from dual speakers. Can't really hear the whole stereo thing on a phone and one bigger speaker has produced much better sounds on the phones I've owned.
Okay, since you explain how good SD480 performs I can accept it now. But the price range still not okay, the price range tells me that it deserve SD690. By the way looking forward for u'r nxt video 🙂

A52 is better in design but in terms of durability, i will go for nokia x20. In fact, I'm buying it next month..lol. i generally prefer nokia x20. it will serve better. Samsung hype is too much. Not everyone likes attention.
The launch event was good but I wanted some description about the outputs like camera samples, gaming ability and what they actually done totaly new( maybe nothing). And the pricing is not also much impressive. They must announced the performance of 480 other wise every one gona think it's a low end processor. In markets more than 90% people buys a phone by seeing those useless numbers. Where I live, the Nokia 8.3 is currently discounted to about 350 Eur, which is the expected price of the X20. Which one would you recommend of the 2? Thanks for the video!
Watching this on my Nokia 3.4; what's a good replacement for the 5 volt/10 watt-charger that came with the 3.4? It's good when you're not going out, but I might need a better charger for said phone.
Why do reviewers want the chargers so badly? I just hear that it's a cost-cutting measure, I mean sure it is, doesn't mean it's bad. Do you know a single person who doesn't already have a charger? Let alone 3 or more? it's not like you're going to resell that charger anyway in most cases. @@KeshavSharma-ep1is you're converting the price from euros to rupees which never happens. I would wait for the official price in your country. Over here the X20 will cost around 350$ for the 8/128 version.
Annoying and disappointed on yesterday s event sir Abdullah x20 is realy like stunning and ready to fight in these segments if they just have equipped it with at least 720g procesor but 480 it seems like im going backwards from my n7.2 with 660 chipset i dont know they dont really care about their users we have the budget to buy an upper midrange nokia phones it makes me feel disconnecting from nokia till they realese a good upper midrager devices the 8.3 it is perfect one already if they have equipped it with just even a 90hrz refresh rate.um thinking of I'll be choosing galaxy A52 5g but i will wait for youre review of that x20. Why dont you buy the license of Nokia from hmd global mr Abdullah....thankyou so much more power to yourw channel and to Nokia
These new devices are exactly what I thought Nokia would deliver. But £300 for a phone with no 4K is just crazy. Against the competition this is a hard sell. Once again unfortunately HMD is relying on the Nokia brand rather then actual innovation. No doubt they are solid phones. But segment leaders they are not.
Writing another comment but need to say this Nokia x20 image on website shows the hole punch and bezzels so thin and narrow....bt the actual device has thick bezzels and large hole punch
Very Good info on here. I personally don't care for AMOLED as I use my phones for quite long periods at a time and AMOLEDS burn in. The ommision of a wall plug sucks in a way as people will go and use cheap terrible chargers which won't be as safe in many instances. A thing I don't like compared to older Nokias is the combination of the second SIM with SD card, the older phones did that better. I'm mainly looking at this because of the weather protection and the compass which is missing on the 5.4 series. I want to use the phone when traveling and having a compass is great when looking at star constellations or spotting satellites. Not metal? Good. It doesn't scratch and ding as easily.
@MisterNokia Is X10 or X20 better in terms of this horrible pricing and will there be massive discounts, I feel the phones are already overpriced and the X20 is just overpriced even higher. Also lovely review and get the blue variant!
I waited to see what's in stored for us before deciding which of the newer ones to buy. So I'll stick with 5.4... These are two big of a phone. And I think the G series are on the same level as the Nokia 2 series?
The G20 is a 5.4 with a bigger battery but a slower processor. Its also priced less at launch so it all depends on the experience. Its not a direct replacement for any series. (Closest to 4 series)
@@AbdullaZaki yes, than you... I think the primary reason I won't go for any of these X or G series are screen parameters. Not a fan of big phones. 7.2 phone size is just right for me. If I want a much bigger screen for social media I'd use a mini tablet.
This summarises how disappointed I was with their "event": A few months ago 5.4 was reviewed here by Abdulla. I wasn't too exited then BUT now I feel that the purple 5.4 beats this new line up. If you don't need 5G consider 5.4 instead of X20 which costs almost twice as much.
Nokia has lost in the premium segment. :(. hoped for Nokia 9 with the latest specs or Nokia 10. completely disappointed. my Nokia 7 Plus, I guess the best phone from Nokia in 4 years. it is still going strong. Alhamdulillah If still, they don't bring the latest specs phone, I have to switch to either OnePlus or Mi.
My Nokia 4.2 updated to Android 11 yesterday, and it glitched the camera and photo download.. sigh.. I don't know if i should get a new Nokia or i go to Google Pixel 4a. I look at the store prices for a final decision. :)
This is a good thing, I just had to send back My LG V50 because my carrier couldn't get it to work for them And I only got it because Nokia had been dragging their ass on putting any new phones out for the new lineup so I was tired of waiting Now I can get one!
@@AbdullaZaki most likely the X20, I will wait until the camera performance gets a good deep review as I'm a photographer and cameras are extremely important to me for phones
Some of the best made Nokia fans in the past were made from plastic. You can have very expensive looking and feeling plastic, or very cheap ones. Its all about the manufacturer.
hey my friend i wonder why nokia always be the first to announce new chips like the 690 but do noy use and also why they do not use midrange chips like the 7 series in their midrange phones,we were expecting a phone with 7 series or the 690 chip, man tgey still disapointing us being nokia fans
Cutting the charger for Nokia's actual position is not a great move .. sticking with LCD .. and no 4K 😐😐 I can see your disappointment .. there'll be good days my friend 🙏
I wonder why nokia is still stuck in SD 4 series? My Nokia 6 actually runs the same chipset. 🤔 Bought it for around $250 in 2018 and now it's a wreck. 🙁
@Yash thanks for that. Maybe I'll just hve to wait for the tech reviewers review though once its available in the market. But I expect it to be on same capacity as previous Nokia phones though. Just for me, I admire Nokia's tech but I want them to up their game because they haven't really redeemed their reputation yet as the first top mobile phone company in 2000's.
I mentioned this before. I don't like large phones i think it's 3 in. in the hand and it won't fit my mine. 😔 Im using 8.1 and it's already large for me. 🤔
I wasn't fair with my previous comment. Honestly I have already made a pre-order for the nokia x20 in Russia because I couldn't find a reliable smartphone phone in this range of price. My complain is that the 480 5g doesn't support 4K video recording. I thought it would've be really nice if nokia made 3 decent cameras with a more strong snapdragon. I refuse to buy smartphones that doesn't guarantee software update and security.
I Think... NOKIA Should Copy Their Own Lumia Design With Much More Improved Chipset... Because Lumia Design Was Plastic But Looks Much More Premium... What Is Your Views On My Comment ABDULLAH ZAKI...?
Why on earth did they change the name of the lineups? The number system was so much better and easier to follow, and was a throwback to the legacy Nokia phones. This new naming system is just a blatant copy of Motorola, and it doesn't make sense offering multiple phones per series in a single year. The older number system made so much more sense :(
I really don't envy you. I actually thought of you when I looked at these phones. They really don't inspire at all. Tough sell. X20 too expensive. Maybe G20? Mediatek? That ended quickly. Unisoc? Are Nokia deliberately trying to tank themselves?
This may sound off topic, but TBH, HMD has failed big time and are proving time and again that they are not capable enough to take the Nokia Legacy forward. This is the last chance for them, to bring something stellar before the end of this year. If not, sadly I will be moving on with some other brand, after being a Nokia loyal fan precisely for the last 15 years.
I just wanna see a side by side comparison between different Snapdragon 480 devices to see if one brand stands out in terms of UI and software optimization. This channel only seems to care about Nokia devices
Actually I don't like these models specifications I'm using Nokia 7.1 it's good premium quality mobile but now HMD making low end with high price models I don't know why and it's disappointing me because I'm waiting for a good Nokia mobile. We don't need a 4 camera's 6.7inch display We need good camera 5.8inch display and good CPU that's all
I think 6gb ram, 128gb storage, 32mp front cam, 64 gb main cam , 3years soft update and security update are the strong points But I feel there is just too much cost cutting 1. Plastic built - 7.2 looks more premium than x20 2. IPS LCD panel - I think HMD doesnt have a setup to work with oled panels 3. No charger and wireless charging 4. The phone from front looks ancient...thick bezzels thick chin and a big punch hole. 5. No real fast charging I think it's only 18watts And if they do not provide UFS storage or latest bluetooth, widevime L1 and all sensors then it will be a major disaster
So very sad that thw G10 and G20 have teardrop display, I would definitely buy one of these if they had a punch-hole display, Nokia keeps disappointing me... :'(

@@KeshavSharma-ep1is you're converting the price from euros to rupees which never happens. I would wait for the official price in your country. Over here the X20 will cost around 350$ for the 8/128 version.
I may be asking a question you have asked already but how good do you think the phone will be after three major OS updates?
Is there notification light? Do you think they should experiment with a smaller phone and reduce their selling price?
When will the next series be presented? let us forget these as soon as possible.
Before the end of the year.
My choice product still awaiting... Though good midrange mix up for new users?
Perhaps before the end of the year.
Love From India ❤️
What about Pure display?🤔🤔🤔
Is Nokia closing its previous lineup? Will there be any 7.4 and 6.4?
yes
Yes closed now. 6.4 is now X10 and 7.4 is this X20
All of Nokia Alhamdulillah i already buy, from Symbian to Windows, 6.1,5.1 ,7 plus,7.2,8.1,8.3 5G and now x20.
How well does the SD 480 work with emulators. Will it be able to emulate the new ps2 games well?
Writing another comment but need to say this
Nokia x20 image on website shows the hole punch and bezzels so thin and narrow....bt the actual device has thick bezzels and large hole punch
It's called Nokia's deceptive marketing
I hope HMD improves with time.
It's been how long already? My first Nokia from hmd was Nokia 6. I think in 2017? They should've improved by now.
@@buencaminoph yea
Love for you and above all NOKIA
Great explanations! Thank you Abdulla)
Holy Moly,
Bring the review of Nokia X20.
Our Superman, the Mr. Nokia.
Dhinka Chika.
Tbh while I was streaming the announcement on RUclips, I expected to see Abdulla on the stream. Idek why.😂
Please a Glacier/White variant on an X20.
Nokia never bounce back with this specifications 😤😤😤😤
Please include gaming test and battery temperature test when you do X20 series review
Planning to buy one
Thanks abdullah you're the best! 👍🤘💕
Will do soon :)
The 5.4 is a very under rated device. I understand your disappointment :(
Nokia has lost in the premium segment. :(. hoped for Nokia 9 with the latest specs or Nokia 10. completely disappointed.
my Nokia 7 Plus, I guess the best phone from Nokia in 4 years. it is still going strong. Alhamdulillah
If still, they don't bring the latest specs phone, I have to switch to either OnePlus or Mi.
Why you don't consider a Nokia 8.3 to buy?
My Nokia 4.2 updated to Android 11 yesterday, and it glitched the camera and photo download.. sigh.. I don't know if i should get a new Nokia or i go to Google Pixel 4a. I look at the store prices for a final decision. :)
Thats a shame. I think they will fix it though, hopefully soon.
I am a bit disappointed with the launch event , but will see when I see the phones in my hands.
Yup, that presentation wasn't great.
This is a good thing, I just had to send back My LG V50 because my carrier couldn't get it to work for them
And I only got it because Nokia had been dragging their ass on putting any new phones out for the new lineup so I was tired of waiting
Now I can get one!
Which phone would you want to get?
@@AbdullaZaki most likely the X20, I will wait until the camera performance gets a good deep review as I'm a photographer and cameras are extremely important to me for phones
Plastic never a bad thing when we talk about Chinese phones. But it is when we talk about a NOKIA.
Some of the best made Nokia fans in the past were made from plastic. You can have very expensive looking and feeling plastic, or very cheap ones. Its all about the manufacturer.
@@AbdullaZaki True, all Lumia phones were plastic. But they were also solidly built. I used the 5.1 plus and the feelings were different.
hey my friend i wonder why nokia always be the first to announce new chips like the 690 but do noy use and also why they do not use midrange chips like the 7 series in their midrange phones,we were expecting a phone with 7 series or the 690 chip, man tgey still disapointing us being nokia fans
Cutting the charger for Nokia's actual position is not a great move .. sticking with LCD .. and no 4K 😐😐 I can see your disappointment .. there'll be good days my friend 🙏
Here is hoping the better days are close :)
Hi! Pls do a review on nokia 8.1 android 11 update. Thank you! I noticed you have never talk about nokia 8.1 in the past..
I wonder why nokia is still stuck in SD 4 series? My Nokia 6 actually runs the same chipset. 🤔 Bought it for around $250 in 2018 and now it's a wreck. 🙁
Additionally, it looks like POCO phone
@Yash thanks for that. Maybe I'll just hve to wait for the tech reviewers review though once its available in the market. But I expect it to be on same capacity as previous Nokia phones though. Just for me, I admire Nokia's tech but I want them to up their game because they haven't really redeemed their reputation yet as the first top mobile phone company in 2000's.
@Yash btw, how much could it be? I'm not sure Abdullah mentioned
@Yash yeah! I'm quite surprised as well it's 5G while it's in SD480. Im not that technical enough, so it's bcos of the GPU?
The only reason I'm using Nokia is the LCD. My eyes and mind don't agree with the use of Amoled/oled screens
Thats interesting because everyone else seems to want an oled display
@@AbdullaZaki It hurts my eyesight so badly after prolonged use. From my findings, it's due to PWM dimming - which can weaken the eye over time.
480 chipset gaming or not?
SD480 seems to be good in power management and connectivity such as 5G. But not as good in gaming. It sits somewhere between SD660 to SD690.
The biggest disappointment is prosesor it self because who will switch back to entry level prosesor 😥☹️☹️☹️☹️
X20 looks hot 🔥
How about nokia x20? Is it nokia 7.4
No
Never. 7.2 is better
I mentioned this before. I don't like large phones i think it's 3 in. in the hand and it won't fit my mine. 😔
Im using 8.1 and it's already large for me. 🤔
Sadly consumers are picking up larger phones more than small ones.
snapdragon 750 5G is the best for this , please check cinbench score for both SD480 5G and SD750 5G .
Haha, we will have better days.
@@AbdullaZaki Good show. Keep on doing and I will keep on watching. To better days!
ngl as much of a Nokia fan as I am, I was underwhelmed at the presentation.
The presentation took the joy away from any positive moment :) But things will be better.

I'm not liking it so far. It seems heavily compromised. Eagerly awaiting your review.
I agree, on paper things don't look good. Will try to get my hands on it as soon as I can :)
Er...I am trying to say something positive about Nokias new phones.
Er.....it has a headphone jack?
Best I can do Bro.
I know how you feel..
I think X10's colour options are better compared to X20's
I just wanna see a side by side comparison between different Snapdragon 480 devices to see if one brand stands out in terms of UI and software optimization. This channel only seems to care about Nokia devices
This channel owner sadly has to buy all his review units :)
@@AbdullaZaki 😭
Actually I don't like these models specifications I'm using Nokia 7.1 it's good premium quality mobile but now HMD making low end with high price models I don't know why and it's disappointing me because I'm waiting for a good Nokia mobile. We don't need a 4 camera's 6.7inch display We need good camera 5.8inch display and good CPU that's all
I think 6gb ram, 128gb storage, 32mp front cam, 64 gb main cam , 3years soft update and security update are the strong points
But I feel there is just too much cost cutting
1. Plastic built - 7.2 looks more premium than x20
2. IPS LCD panel - I think HMD doesnt have a setup to work with oled panels
3. No charger and wireless charging
4. The phone from front looks ancient...thick bezzels thick chin and a big punch hole.
5. No real fast charging I think it's only 18watts
And if they do not provide UFS storage or latest bluetooth, widevime L1 and all sensors then it will be a major disaster
Disappointment is immeasurable!!!!!
💓💓💓💓
So very sad that thw G10 and G20 have teardrop display, I would definitely buy one of these if they had a punch-hole display, Nokia keeps disappointing me... :'(
