Madelaine I cannot tell you how much I can relate to all of this and how much you are giving me hope outta this hustling life! Acting is my dream and always has been, I am slowly but surely getting there (finger crossed) but currently doing the million different jobs whilst auditioning and waiting for my film to come out that'll hopefully move my life in the right direction! It's so good to see someone become successful through handwork and determination, I think a lot of the time no one shows the hustle and grind that got them there and its refreshing to know I'm not the only one and it gives me so much hope :) Thank you for this it did make me laugh, one day I could be making a similar video! Well I hope so anyway :)

Would love to see a video on how you kept going with acting and how it all planned out for you. I’ve just finished my 3 years training and it’s always good to hear how actors made it into the industry, especially around auditions, agents, paying the bills etc! X
I worked at a library and one dude followed me around while shelving books. I was shelving a lower shelf and he stands above me and dropped a book on my head! He then proceeded to try to talk to me because he literally had HIT ON ME. My coworkers had to escort him away from me

You just gave me hope that I can see things through. I'm doing my first official job now which is somehow out of the career path I wanted and it just feels like nothing's right with whatever I do. I mean, I got it good on necessary aspects for the job but I have this feeling in my gut that I should be doing something else, something more, something worth it. And you just shed light on me. 😭❤😘

It is honestly sooo refreshing + encouraging to hear someone who's so successful now having gone through so many tough regular jobs to get to where they are!! I'm 22 and just graduating art school - I've finally achieved some actual creative success having had my first film featured in an international film fest while still working as a bartender and market stall manager but have also gone through some absolute shitshows of jobs including:
- a v fancy gift store where one of my friends got fired because her grandma died and she went to the funeral
- stall manager at Comicon selling v v questionable 'erotic' manga (not my proudest moment)
- an art gallery in an ancient (definitely haunted) church in Venice that flooded through the ceilings and floor every week
- and my personal fave working for a comedy agency having to promote/sell £15 tickets for 1 star reviewed "kinky comedy cabaret" (basically a one-woman show put on by a large middle aged gal who ran around the stage singing 'diamonds are forever' out of key while wielding a cucumber and replacing the word diamond with dildo lmao

Avoid Hollywood, Van Nuys, Studio City. I lived in Encino, Woodland Hills, and now in West Hills. Never had anything happen! Obviously Calabasas is super safe but also bougie and expensive as hell hahah 😂

@@bluecali4na you just highlighted the worst parts of LA. Good 4 u. Where I live in LA people aren’t very rude. Also it’s really beautiful and fun to visit in the summer. Although the things you said can be true, La is a great place to live especially with children cause there’s some great schools.

hi madelaine, this has been the most anxious i’ve been writing something because i’ve never really told anyone about my dream of being an actress. i’ve had plans since last year to become an actress. i was a gymnast until i was 11. i was a dancer until this past year (i’m 16) and i’ve wanted to get into acting and pursue it as a profession for a very long time. this past year i have spent hours at the library reading books on acting and theater, watching youtube videos of acting classes live, and many more things. i’ve always been the person who provides for my family and takes care of everyone so i have always said i’m going to be a nurse and have a family. but it’s changed this past year and i’m so afraid i won’t have the support or people will think i’m stupid for wanting to be an actress. i’m working up the courage to ask my mom if i can enroll in a local theater class so i can start getting training now. thank you for constantly inspiring me to do what i love and following my heart❤️
Like you I had so many jobs a total of 13 since I was 16 years old. I've had chola bosses, nice and mean, young and old and I can't pick just one story because I have files in my head. There are too many. I was always professional but the first job I got out of college I worked at a small newspaper, 9 women and one bathroom. It was too much in that run down building.
In my younger years I always just watched kids and you wouldn't believe the horrible stories my co-workers talked about in personal lives that were anything but appropriate!!
That last one was.....wow.....I’m speechless

There must be something about cafes because literally almost the exact same thing happened to me TWICE at the SAME cafe I worked at. However, instead of being evicted, the manager just didn't show up for work on St. Patricks Day, one of our busiest days of the year, because the cafe had changed owners and she was mad about it. The second time this happened, the new owners (who were leasing the business from the old owner I guess) had lost a bunch of money because the old owner was shady. I wish I knew more of the story but I don't because the new owners just up and left one night after closing with no notice and moved to the complete other side of the country. Both times I was supposed to open too, so I was just left standing in front of the locked cafe doors at 6am confused and alone 😅
Must be such a satisfying feeling to be famous and successful now and have Mr. No Name wishing he signed you right then and there rather than throw a temper tantrum 😂
