I have been doing makeup over 20 years and usually when a person Contour say knows it's because they have a large or wide nose.. but if you have a skinny nose there is no need to Contour..but do you make up is an art and it is not defined buy one thing on one person. So whatever makes a person feel good I feel they should do it whether it's using the filter or whatever it does not matter. Long as the result comes out beautiful and it makes people happy that's all that should count😊
Usually a cream or liquid contour is more convincing than a powder. It just melds with your natural skin texture. The best method is to combine the 2: use a cream or liquid very sparingly and layer a light dusting of powder over it. This video shows you mix n match options based on your personal preferences.
Side note if you have a long nose bringing down the dark contour all the way to the tip of the nose will make it appear long. Also lightening the top of nose all the way down will make a bump appear bigger.

I’ve always wanted to be able to do my nose contour like the first one (even though I’ve been told many times I have a small nose already, so idk how it would work for me) but my skin starts looking cakey and my pores look huge if I put like a second coat of concealer on so all of that sitting in my face would probably look horrible irl.... maybe for pictures only? But then, what is the point ha? I admire the girls who can really paint their face like this it is a talent... my skin handles BB cream much better than actual foundation, I have to go light
