    ELR- Well past the suggested maximum effective range of said caliber-round. You and Sam have opened my mind to what really is possible. Nice work and great shooting mate.

      @@markandsamafterwork appreciate your breakdown on your locations and your thought process on what you can and won't do depending upon your choices of where and how. Most people don't talk about it, especially in a safe environment.

    My shooting range was closed for the last month and a half because of the beer flu ... Its opening up again on May 19. Thank god, I was starting to have withdrawals. Ill have to get all my long range shooting thrills by watching you.
    Our clubs longest range is 300 m. They have a bunch of new rules about number of people per range at one time etc.
    I'm going to love the smell of gun smoke wafting through the air once again.

      I would like to see him there too but something to keep in mind is how expensive these tournaments are to do and they fill in like an hour after registration goes up (and im sure some people are getting priority which is just an assumption). The platforms that are placing at the top are very niche built. He has the talent and knowledge to be there no doubt.

      Thanks Allen, one day maybe, but as TD mentioned costs, and for us being the other side of the world and running our own small business, makes time another huge hurdle, lol, Cheers

    I’ve thought of this a few times watching your videos. I’m thinking to myself, you must either own a ton of land or know some pretty cool people who will let you do this. Myself, being a very novice shooter can only imagine what it takes to come close to a target 2miles away. Keep it up, great shooting and information.

      I first started watching your videos when I was interested in the Charlie TARAC platform. I have seen that you dont seem to use it as much anymore. At least in your videos. I was just wondering why the seeming change is it more or less for any particular reason you have seemed to use it less. I am just curious as to why the shift. Thanks Sherman

    Thanks for the update love the channel, the videos are incredibly informative , would love to see a new video on ELR scope options in the mid price range bracket (for example between $1000-$1600aud) as this is a very common price point that a lot of people wanting to progress into ELR shooting are looking at spending. Your video on ELR scope options in 2018 was great and would be nice to see a 2020 updated version as a lot of mid range scopes have technologies past down from the top end scopes of the 2017-2018 era. Keep up the great work and awesome videos cheers.

      @@markandsamafterwork Ah that's a shame, yes we don't have the same level of suppliers or gun shops here in Australia as they do in the United States unfortuently. Just thought I would mention it as alot of the new mid range priced scopes are coming out with premium features and very decent glass. Look forward to your future videos, keep it up guys 👍

    Sadly, usually no shooting outside of certified ranges over here. Takes some effort to find ranges above 50m. Above 300m usually requires half a day of driving plus hotel stay for me. Still very inspiring to see you guys pulling off those ELR shots! :-)

    Is the tikka t3x tac a1 6.5 creedmoor a good choice for the first rifle and beginner for those interested in long range shooting.

    • @markandsamafterwork
      @markandsamafterwork  4 года назад

      Well they are a good rifle, but as said many times, I do not make recommendations, would need to know many details, talk to the gun shop, shooting instructor, etc, etc, Cheers

      @alex for the cost of a tikka tac a1 you'd probably get more value for money building something up on a howa 1500 or buying a quality 2nd hand rifle already build up for your first rifle.

    Years ago as a young man twice where my friend and myself set up makeshift shooting just to sight in our deer rifles at about 50 yards Shooting from high to low into a wooded swamp...We heard what was either an animal in the woods behind our target...Stopped and listened ...both times it was landowners coming very angrily to kick us off their land ...The land was not posted and hunting on non posted land was allowable without permission or concern. But both times had we not heard the actual approach we may have killed someone. Very scary experiences. We thought we were being careful that "no one would ever try to wade into that area so very little risk of someone being there" But low and behold....

    Maybe we should start with ELR BB guns. Out to 30 yards for ELR? that might be doable for some of us.
