coming from AMD , I had not been on Nvidia since he GTX 970 which I loved to death, but Nvidia has been miilking their user basse snce the 1080 which was their last competitive product at a fair price, then the price gouging and scalping diditn help and they actively encouraged it by atificially rstricting supply. AMD has put up a brave fight, and If they keep at it like they have done with their cpus they can gain marktshare. Ill happyly wait till I can get a 4080-4090 performnce for $500 ,like I did with my 3080ti, coming from a 6700xt to a 3080 ti really not that much diferent if you turn off fps counter and manag settings in most games. Sure I could have gotten a 4090 for 1300$, but I rather keep that in the bank for whatever is around corner , ill wait till they manage to squeeze more performance whithout blowing watts out the wazoo. Lets see what 5070 ti - 9000xt series brings to table and if price is right. Also 1500$ gpus shoud como with a 5 year warranty

No one is contending is Nvidia is better. Is paying double the price worth it? No. A Ferrari is better than a Honda. That is relative though. A Honda is reliable, affordable and will last longer. So what are you asking? Is it worth more to pay an absurd amount for a gpu that can do things you WILL NEVER USE it for or is it worth more to pay 1/3 the price to play your crappy steam game because in reality that is all you do?
It is your money, spend it your way. If you have a small pecker? and feel bad about yourself but need a 4070Ti super to play helldivers 2 at a major penalty, then do it. I play it on overkill with my 7700xt that cost me £350. I do not know what is in your pc and I do not give a single shit. Neither does anyone else. If you need the debt or have the ability to buy a GPU that is obsolete 4 months after you buy it for a flex, that just speaks volumes about how insecure the buyer is. Streamers and content creators are not spending money on their 4080 and 4090s, they get them free to tell idiots they need to buy them to play fps capped games that do not support dlss/rt. It is what it is.
Both cards have a place. AMD is for gamers, Nvidia is for content creators that stream with heavy work loads and the Nvidia camp is not even a single percent of a percent of gamers.
As for the sales and figures, the diy market is not where these companies make their money. AMD was forced out of MSI aib and lost contracts for mega important laptop contracts. I do appreciate propaganda. Nvidia has had a very strong arm in telling companies should they work with amd they will not do business with them or make sure they are paid years late. The big picture is much more complex than the bullocks relayed in short videos with extremely neutered information. AMD dropped once they lost 2 major laptop gpu deals. The apu will be the future and Nvidia will fail at every corner on the apu. Nvidia will happily just stick to AI and move away from the diy market.
Nvidia is worth it for people that use it for what it is made more. It is not better for the masses. End of.

I only play multiplayer games so Frame gen and Ray Tracing isn't something i would ever use. DLSS would be a nice to have, but there is so much competition now that i believe that the other upscalers like FSR, XeSS, TSR and Microsoft's upscaler will catch up to the quality level of DLSS.

Most people aren't looking for 1k GPUs. They are only sought after as new gen release cycle, when supplies are limited and scalpers are clamoring after them. They are trying to stagnate as much ass possible, but people won't upgrade for marginal price/performance. Amd totally missed the boat on ai with their GPUs. The chiplet design is more power hungry? They probably could have had more performance with a monolithic design. Amd GPUs aren't competing, lack on the software side as well and are just taking leftover buyers. Objectively, Amd GPUs are inferior and these high prices is an illusion. Amd last gen GPU are still better value over the 7000 series. I really hope amd can give us a better offering next gen, just hope the manufacturers aren't jumping ship.

*always buy a Nvidia graphics card*
I tried the 7800 XT, the 7900 XT, and the 7900 GRE.
All of them suffer from an endless list of issues. Do not buy into someone saying "I've never had a single issue!"
First of all they are lying.
Second of all even if they weren't, it likely means they only play one or three games that happen to have no issues.
The AMD cards produced issues with emulation of games, audio cutting in and out which is a common issue you can simply Google and see that it exists.
Driver timeouts and crashes in games like world of Warcraft and other titles that AMD just doesn't give a shit to fix.
They are absolutely terrible at streaming, and even worse at any form of production. Vastly inferior upscaling, fsr looks horrid.
And worse frame generations support, and technology. Along with essentially null ray tracing.
They also draw a lot more power.
Do not make the mistake of getting a piece of junk AMD card.
If you're in the market for a GPU do yourself a favor and make the right choice the first time. Get yourself an Nvidia card and never worry about it again it's as simple as that.
I have had all of them, I'm not an Nvidia fanboy or an AMD one.
I am someone who has actually had all of them and experienced them all including the 490 and 7900 XTX.

I had the opportunity to buy a 4080 for £ 1080, which at the time was a very cheap price ( comparatively) and I've never regretted it. For my second PC I'm gaming at 1080p with a i5 13400KF ( which I had lying around! ) paired with an RX 7600 XT which I thought would be pretty crap! It's not! The gaming experience is excellent. No stuttering, no artifacts and very smooth. The only thing that worried me was the lack of support for FSR compared to DDR3. I needn't have worried! The purpose of a GPU is *_rasterization._* It's your opinion that nVidia is better, the objective data says most gamers don't give a damn about ray tracing, dlss, or frame generation, so AMD should be the best choice for most gamers. Never mind the open source software? Or the fact that human eyesight objectively can't see more than 144hz refresh rates? How many GPUs peg a 144hz monitor now on 99.9% of games?
I'm very disappointed in your rapid and repeated abuse of the word objective. nVidia is only objectively more expensive, risky, and energy inefficient is putting it mildly if you actually want the "eye candy", which you can only really get on a 4090... and even then, it's a stunningly wild disappointment if you were expecting something great, RT *still* basically makes games unplayable.
In the words of Joey Swoll, you need to do better.

He's not wrong. Your personal definition of GPU, and your personal claims about human eyesight sensitivity to refresh rate clearly define your statement as subjective. You even appear to have a personal definition of "objective". Very funny. And the power connector issue is fear persusasion, but does not change the objective truth that the 4090 is the strongest GPU.

@@BearfootBob Yes he is. I never said the 4090 isn't the strongest. It's not objectively the best either, certainly not objectively when use case is considered.
      Your argument is invalid.

@@BearfootBob I see you're habitually spouting nonsense, so let me put this in lay terms:
      No rasterization = no gaming
      No RT = better performance
You are the fanboy he's referring to... Thiago is stating literal subjective preferences, and mistaking the word objective as something flung about without data, but he quite factually also owns many GPUs, as anyone who builds does. You salivate because you think your 2060 means you're part of some club.
It's just a GPU. They all do the same job. Processing graphics. Calm down. 😂

@@x8jason8x Word salad is not an argument. Which AMD GPU has better performance than the 4090?

@@BearfootBob Oh and how could I miss the real gem... there's been plenty of studies on human eyesight. We *_OBJECTIVELY_* can not see more than 30 frames per second, and can only perceive the effects of refresh up to about 144hz, with 60hz being where the *_VAST MAJORITY_* of people fall, and unable to perceive any effects past it.
Yes, let's also not forget that most of you have terrible eyesight, and couldn't tell a CRT from an OLED unless you're 18 inches away.
