First of all she really slayed that tomboy/teenage look, it looks playful and adorable on her. This video is so helpful, as a newly discovered gamine myself I can really see how she suddenly doesn't shine anymore with rounded hairstyles and very ornate/glamourus or unconstructed/flowy styles, while sharp fitted lines and small patterns in contrast with bigger shapes really suit her.
It's striking how much happier and more relaxed and playful she looks in the earlier pictures with her short pixie and tomboyish clothes. In the later, more "feminine" looks she has much more serious expressions.
She had such a beautiful face, the short hair does her justice - it just makes her face the center stage. With long hair, although she's obviously still beautiful, I feel like she loses a little something.
💯 She doesn’t look sparkly anymore, and appears to be the “generic” beauty, rather than an adorable standout!
The 70s photo of her with short hair and fur coat at 9:19 looks so much like Mia Farrow.

I spent waaaaay too many years trying to be Jean Seberg! As a slightly 'hippy' (body, not style 😄) DC it was never going to work. I still long for a pixie cut, but it makes my head look like a peanut 😁

Always loved Jean Seberg's style. The printed t she wears as newspaper seller a film called Breathless was not necessarily a style piece but it looks fabulous on her! The look was so ahead of the times!

Hollywood may have wanted her to look more feminine. She always went back ti the Breathlees haircut.
I never saw her pictures from when she was in her 30ies... She aged so badly, I guess sadness (stress...) and a lot of cigarettes aren't great for the body. I feel so sad for how her life ended, really tragic.
The short hair is best on her. Same with Mia Farrow and Leslie Caron. They are stunning with pixies and just pretty with long hair but look like too many other pretty women.

For me it is too excessive to make a “soft gamine” out of gamines… this type is not so easy to spot and having this additional category doesn’t help

I think it is a bit difficult to spot but sometimes you can easily see it ( me and my friend we are both gamines , but she is allways on the skinny side , even if she gaines weight it doesn't go in same place like mine) meanwhile I am more round from legs , cheeks , even if I loose weight I will still have rounded thighs . I just wanted to know about her as well. 😉
@@hyyacinthusa7324 oooh, I won’t ever remember in which video she said that… it was the one where she was showing also her mom’s photo. She classified her mom as “gamine” and swore there’s a huge difference between G and SG 🤷🏼♀️
Btw, her mom looked a lot like Gabrielle Chanel (also Gamine)
@@hyyacinthusa7324 you know… every woman has “rounded” thighs by definition, I believe 😄 trick is to say, what is the overall “vibe”. I found this way for myself: check how nice u look in some regular cotton sweatpants or mom-jeans(the hardest pieces of clothes to dress, think!). If u look good - you are definitely the type either with romantic undercurrent or a romantic “overlay”(such as soft classic). If your legs look like two shapeless thick wood logs - likely tend to Natural bone structure.
That was the way I realised I am a FG, but with a N/SN tendency. It was so liberating for me when I accepted that I might not fit any single type - because I really don’t 😂
@@RevealTheStyle I don't think every woman has rounded thighs ... My cousin looks like a guy from legs .. always has been like tht .. Even now after having kids she is same..I am definitely a SG and I believe Aly is right there is a difference between G n SG .. In any case you must be right as well there are so many bodies and so many types and combinations .... 😉
I identify so much with her! I'm definitely pure gamine, it's always the body type that I feel like I fit in perfectly and the style recommendations resonate with my own style. I wish Kibbe hadn't cancelled this category.
Agree, and feel the same about the pure natural category. Im more of a soft natural but when I am on the thin side, I nearly fit in the flamboyant gamine category. Esp bc I have some teenage tomboy vibe even though I’m almost 40!.
@@hallievanoutryve3109 yes, any of the pure categories shouldn't have been cancelled in my opinion, we need more categories, not less! We the pure types don't feel 100% in the Soft or Flamboyant/Dramatic versions, but are forced to choose.
