Yuri, the way you used the word "extra" about the buttons for the gauge cluster brightness brought me back to my high school days in Scarborough (literally a decade ago). Thank you for the brief trip down memory lane.
Why complain about the CVT? It's not a common failure on this model with adequate cooling and you've ALWAYS got the right gear when cruising through the mountains. I think it's nice, responsive, does what it's supposed to.
S/O to Canada! You two are excellent for repping Canada and showing what cars you like here. From Calgary Alberta (not my choice ok), can't stop watching this. Also make a short sleeve button up merch with little Plymouth prowlers. Straight pipes exclusive shirt
If buying new, I'd go for the Toyota 4Runner as it will hold it's value at an insane level and they run 4Eva. If buying used, this will be a better choice from a cost perspective since it loses value much faster, so used prices are much more affordable (US). Great review guys. You are getting better and better- finally subscribed.
We purchased the Pathfinder in July of 2013. Within 10 days of purchase, we experienced our first CVT shudder during low speed acceleration. A week later, we had our brand new Pathfinder’s CVT completely replaced. A year later, the car would randomly not start. Over five months, we had the car towed to the dealership five times. The first four times, the problem would not replicate itself. The service department changed the brake switch. Then blamed our iPhones for interfering with the FOB signal. Then they changed out the 1800$ main computer module. Finally, the problem re-surfaced at the dealership after the fifth tow and they discovered a short in the Starter. Three recalls later for various issues we finally had enough with the vehicle and Neese-Anne when our rear stationary moon roof started leaking (no damage to the roof). Will never buy another car from this company.
This should be like a version of top gear, but just reviewing cars, if I want to see a car review, I come here, nowhere else. These are reviews with comedy and I love watching them. Good job guys!!!

That's why they are so popular in any models, Toyota, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan Lexus, Cadillac Just what You want folks 😂😂👍
Its really hard to believe its a 2018 model. With the infortainment and layout of the dash and steering wheel i honestly thought that you guys are reviewing and older car. Nissan has potential though hope they change the obvious stuff that needs to be changed in 2018
The interior is so dated it's cringeworthy. I can't believe people are buying this in 2018. I also don't understand why Nissan won't take the gorgeous interior of the Maxima and put it into their other cars, but I guess they are separate design teams.
ezekiel1hen my 2014 PF Platinum is exactly the same inside. I agree, this looks dated and I don’t myself trading mines for a 2018 ever, they are essentially the same except with new headlights on the new model.
That interior is horrendous! The buttons are a big parts bin mess. Small details like those memory seat controls are hideous, why did they make them slanted, AND slant the text as well! The steering wheel controls are as much of an afterthought as the centre brake light of a modern G-Wagon( see Doug's video). The centre controls are too complicated and there are too many buttons arranged in what felt like an ergonomic crisis. There is a total of 8 knobs. 8 KNOBS! Why?? This interior is really outdated, Nissan simply MUST redesign this thing. Great video guys, keep it up 😍💝
Great review as usual guys! My request for the next Nissan: the Qashqai. Thinking of buying one in a couple months so I’d love to see what you guys think of it. Ps, I think Rex and I need to be best friends.
I agree with Yuri on the front license plate, I wish we could ould do the same in America!! I like the looks of the Platinum Pathfinder but it’s spotty reliability and outdated bits mentioned make it a deal breaker!
We got one 4 years ago and love it. It feels like I'm in a tank when driving. Test drove some of the newer vehicles this past weekend and they feel like I'm in flimsy nothing vehicles. The things these guys are complaining about make me roll my eyes.
What's up with the CVT hate ? Why would you want a transmission originally designed for infinite gear ratios keeping the engine at peak power, attempt to emulate the inefficiencies (finite gearing) it is trying to eliminate ?
The 370Z has a 3.7L engine not a 3.5, its's pronounced Zee, Yuri says Nissan weird and Canada is part of America which is not a country. Who's dead wrong? Just messin' with you guys. Love the videos. I even watch when I have no interest in the car you're reviewing. Keep it coming.

Nissan used to make such great cars, now days they're just 'another manufacturer' minus the GTR. Their product placement and offering is generally second best and not to mention the CVT in a lot of their cars. I used to have a old Pulsar N16 (not sure what's it called in North America) and the old Pathfinder which were great cars that handled well and were cheap to run!
"It's our first Nissan" ends video with a 300ZX... haha ... Great vid as always. I used to love the Pathfinder back in the 90s, this new one is just not the same anymore.

The thing about the infotainment is that this is the old version. Nissan’s new version like in the Maxima, Murano and the (I’m pretty sure) new Altima is much better. Once this has a full redesign and not just a mid cycle refresh, the infotainment will be replaced.
I had one of the most unpleasant back seat experiences ever in the second row of the Pathfinder used as the shuttle vehicle by my local dealer. Very low seat cushion with limited leg room. I couldn't wait to move to the front passenger seat and it made me wonder how a design could be this bad. My much maligned Tribeca was limo-like in comparison.
About the visor test, I think there is much more cost involved to put small plastic extenders inside the visor compare to visor sliding on its own rod.
I have no interest in car reviews beyond the extreeeemely rare occasion that I have need for it (like, this might be the 3rd time I've ever needed one) but you guys are great. Subbed.
Wonderful review! Keep it up guys! Both always entertaining & very informative! Just got my sub! P.s need some audi's on the channel ;) Cheers! Chris from aus!
Jakub is correct in how he pronounces Nissan. Japanese vowel sounds are similar to Spanish. Also I think Nissan hasn't updated this car in a while -- just refreshes. I think that slanted center gauge is probably because it's a smaller screen. The infotainment weaknesses also seem to be due to lack of an full update as well.
Have a 2013 Pathfinder SL AWD and love it. Like you guys said it is very comfortable. Waiting for the warranty to finish so I can upgrade to a high end Infotainment system. The only issue was the CVT giving out at 90k, but was replaced by Nissan - the main cause (from a friend who was a Nissan Mechanic) is during freight transportation the chain made grooves from the constant rocking back and forth and prematurely wore out the pulley and belts. Because it's has a high towing capacity, he said my new CVT should last more than 400k.
It's the best value because Nissan discounts it like crazy. Typically there is a close to $5000 cash incentive. Comes in $8-10k less than comparable Toyota or Honda
Yes good value if you compare to Pilot or Highlander. Nissan likes to give good deal like other SUV like the Rogue that sale like hot cake (better than the qashqai ) . The fuel Economy is one of the best on his class from what I'm hear and read. No carplay / Android auto is a downside but Toyota doesn't offer yet (Honda, VW, GM,... do) . Since it's no more a real "offroad" SUV, I think Nissan should bring back the Xterra to compete to the 4Runner but I don't know if people are ready to buy it again like back in the 2000s . I think you didn't drive the Highlander and you compare the 4Runner to the Pathfinder, but a new Xterra will be the one if Nissan wants to do a new one. Proud to have one license on the back and none on front but still waiting for the Customize License plate.
The refresh rate on the infotainment system is shockingly slow. The maps and driving performance screens seem almost useless. Are they using left over 386 processors?
You know reviewers are good when you watch even if you have absolutely no interest in the car 😂
TOOCOMPLICATEDGUYS - same here :) It is even more crazy for me as this big pile of... Nissan is not even on offer in Europe :)
