Insta360 One X: 5.7K Video Compilation (Highest Quality)

This video shows the maximum quality 360 video shot with the Insta360 One X. I've tried to include a variety of environments to show what the video looks like both indoor, outdoor, in direct sunlight and dark.
I shot the videos using LOG mode and applied color correction in Premiere Pro. Rendered at a bit rate of 100mbps at 5.7K resolution. RUclips automatically cuts the quality of all video, so this isn't the best it can look.

None of these 360 cameras appear to deliver the resolution they promise. 4K looks like 480p.
its not that the videos are not true 4k (5K), its that they are stretching 4k over a 360 view. You really need 8k video to provide a nice image.
Daniel are you using a beta version of the Premiere Insta plug in to get the original files off the camera and straight in to Premiere? Because the way I see it you can only import compressed mp4 files in to Premiere from Studio Beta.
People commenting on the blurriness of moving video. This was rendered in 5.7K using the beta version of the insta360 studio software. This might be why there are some problems with moving video, most other example videos on RUclips are in 4k. Insta 360 have said this will be improved with a software update soon
From what I've read (correct me please :) the beta desktop software is rendering video out to 28fps or something, which could be a contributing factor to the judder, the other issue which to me looks like warp stabiliser, is they are probably dropping the shutter speed too low when it gets dim - maybe 1/30 (360' degree shutter) and so there isn't enough static frames to properly generate smooth looking stablisation - hence the awful blurriness. Hopefully they fix it. Otherwise the static shots look great!
I just received mine yesterday and updated the firmware, still definitely have the exact same issue. Same with photos if you don’t hold the camera perfectly still (even more blurry). You feel this will be handled in the next software update?

Michael Siebielec yessss!! Saw that video also and it looks great and fine! Why is mine and this posters so jacked up? I would hate to think this is a hardware issue bc then I’ll need to return mine and hope for a better one? Ugh. Frustrating. Tech support told me I need to adjust the shutter speed. But it should be just like the original one. Nothing needed more than shooting footage.
Maybe my iPad Pro 1st gen wasn’t up to the job there but when you were walking it looked terrible. Maybe I’ll view the video again on my phone and hopefully that’ll be more capable.

What software did you use to create this? I played my 360 video back on VLC and I cannot change the perspective as the video plays.

Hi Daniel... the 360 ONE X is 5.7K... but what is the true resolution one gets after all the stitching, processing etc... Some say 1080p, others say 4K. I want a 360 camera but resolution of 4K is important...

why are there black holes on top and bottom? my fusion doesnt dow this and i'm thinking about getting the insta onex
Man. Those shots around built-up London were really nice, but the one of you running around the park came out like crap. Why do you think that was? Something to do with physically bouncing around and the electronic stabilization not being very good?

Why is there a black circle at the top of the video as well as on the bottom? Is this something you added, or is it the way the camera records?

I hope they fix that blur effect issue when walking or running. Big drawback for me.
In the previous firmware/app it's necessary to adjust manual shutter speed for FlowState stabilization in lowlight environment -- this will solve the blurriness. The next firmware/app upgrade is set to be released in the next few days and will introduce a special setting mode for fixing any blurriness in low light situations.
That was a big reason I chose the fusion even after release of this camera
There are other samples I've seen of people walking, were they just really steady handed?

The Insta360 Studi 3.0.01 keep crashing on my laptop everytime I open an .insv file, does this happen to anyone else? My Ipad will not process 5.7K, it says it has to ouput in 4K. Very frustrating indeed
Daniel, something has gone really wrong with your running and walking in the V&A. Other testers using this camera had way better results while walking and running with their "invisible" selfie stick . Loved the color reproduction at the museum but otherwise it's unwatchable. Piccadilly was impressive too. What's up with this?
Who knows. I just shot it, stitched in the insta360 studio and put it together in Premiere Pro.
I have come back to this and pushed my YT setting to 2160 4K, but YT permits a higher setting for 5.7K. I am still trying to make sure I set up PowerDirector 360's output to get the max out of the One X videos that I have made so far.
it is time that insta360 come with desktopsoftware that has the same quality and features as their app on mobile devices.......

Very frustrating camera when there's 5.7K possible on an Ipad, the Mac software keeps crashing and NO support for AE or Premiere. Basically it is just 4K for me
Mine looks more choppy than this one at 1080p but looked better at 5k but who would use 5k resolution for youtube video !

Wow...after this video makes me not want one even more. None of it looks impressive at all and then the running/biking footage looks like absolute...you know what! Looks like 480p in most cases at best
