Really enjoyed the main street. Every Spring Break my rowing team would train here and row up and down the river. Beautiful scenery. The local university was also really nice!
Grew up there. Plan to retire thare❤. You have to be there to truly understand how much pride people to have been raised there. And to those who wish to have the retirement where they can truly be happy. This piece of heavan welcomes you with as if you are family.
Trust me, Natchitoches isn't as "nice" as the upper crustvwant you to believe. There's absolutely nothing to do if it isn't centered around a festival. They definitely don't take care of the folks out of Natty Parish. It's all about Nattytrash.

Is there a lack of accountability here? I am not aware of the press being incorrect on the name of a major political figure in a story (letting that mistake stay for 6 MONTHS), but on the other side, what city has such vile disrespect for a mayor that they cannot get his name right? Someone here has it wrong, either mistakenly or maliciously but this appeal for people to invest in this city is marred by the controversy of the very name of the mayor. If there are two different men who look amazingly similar with very similar names who had this office within 6 months of each other I will respectfully withdraw this comment, until that is proved there appears to be a determined effort to undermine this man's authority. I have downloaded both videos for archival proof of my observations.

Use to live in Nacthitoches. Small minds is a nice way to put the people in leadership roles. DO NOT go unless it is a festival .

The town has changed .My mother was mugged and pushed to the ground. Be vigilant if you come here.

What a strange pronunciation this place has compared to its spelling. I am hearing Nackadish, Nackatish, or Nackanish for Natchitoches.
