Trust me Dk, you cant possibly get me anymore excited about Payton Wilson than I already am. I wanted us to draft him from the very beginning and never thought he'd be available to us. Queen (another one I always wanted us to have) and Wilson could be something remarkable!!
Payton and Roman are definitely my favorite picks I absolutely love both these guys and everything they are about. Can't wait to see them playing football in black and gold.

NC State fan here. You may have a idea what kind of football player and leader you have here. He is all that you could wish for. Only Bill Cowher also from NC State at linebacker is in the top tier all time as part of the defense side of the Wolfpack. GO STEELERS

I love when people say "the only way to beat this team is to go score for score with them" The rules allow for the defense to make stops, and game changing plays too.
The ability to get open and the ability to catch the ball is what separates recievers into 1 through 4 categories. Many times it's only a matter of someone getting an opportunity before a label like Payton Wilson. I think we have what we need in-house for recievers that just need opportunity. If the right reciever is available without breaking the bank, I'm not opposed to getting another.

I wanted a CB at his spot, then it hit me who they took and I've been excited ever since
Love the player. Only thing I worry about is that we had 3 off ball linebackers go down last year. We have a history of injury at that position. I dont know if its just that position throughout the nfl or we ask to much. But some serious injuries have happened at that position.
He also loves the game and is fearless, dangerous combination for opps
I am willing to roll with this current WR room than the last two years when it wasn't even an issue and all three of the QBs couldn't poduce in two years as much as Russell Wilson did in one year for a system that he supposedly didn't fit or sucked in. Early stages I can't wait to see Roman Wilson. Dudes positive attitude and quickness is going to be menace for DBs. GP is also going to be better. New OC, the WR room is fine and will probably produce better results next year than it did last year.
It blows me away that he can even run at all, much less cut, stop, turn, and re-accelerate, all missing an ACL. WOW
I'm all in also, he doesn't hesitate on anything. His instincts are like Shazier and Polamalu.
DK, got a J1Q for ya, I know this may sound stupid for a 3rd round rookie LB but if PW is going to be a rotation ILB at minimum is it possible we don't play him on special teams? Or at least wait until the regular season? We may have something special here and don't know if its worth the risk

Confidence was definitely a theme this year. I don't see any hopeful uncertainties. The only project is making good players great, not trying to make a bad player average at best. ❤🔥🍻

P. Wilson has Lambert's build, motor, and brain. He had a 90 % passing coverage rating. He can wear the green dot and start day one.
Our Defense has got to be top 10 to be successful this coming season. Feel our offense will be Average.
Everyone claiming he has no ACL but Payton Wilson himself is saying he’d never heard that before the combine. Where is this information coming from?
I think Linebacker coaches are having fun scheming combinations of Wilson, Queen, and Roberts. No need to wear out these players over a 17 game season.

I agree that they need another wide receiver, I want another wide receiver. And it seems like they have put effort into finding one, even though it hasn't worked out.
I'm just spitballing, but given we know that Arthur Smith tends to run less 11 personnel than most, Roman Wilson talking about being worked out on the outside, the fact that they like big slot receivers, and none more important than the fact that no trade for a wide receiver has seemed to work out, I feel like a lot of signs are pointing to Muth filling the role of slot receiver for a lot of 2024

It seems like lately the steelers are changing their attitude in terms of rookie contribution. '21 we had five rookies as day one starters, '22 saw Kenny and george making significant early contributions, and '23 saw our top four picks as a significant part of the rotation if not outright starters by the end of the year. With at least some if not all of our first four picks this year seemingly poised to make significant contributions or start opening day this year, have we witnessed the end of sitting players to develop them, or has need forced rookies into the lineup, and if so, what's the root cause of this new need for immediate rookie contribution? Is this a good thing, a bad thing, or simply a thing?

OK....I certainly have no control over people's emotions BUT, I'd like to remind people of a few things:
1) the NCAA IS NOT THE NFL
2) speed means nothing with direction, focus, and purpose
3) does this player's skill set mesh within the defensive scheme? Or would they adjust to what he does do well?
4) in addition to #3 wake me up after he's played about 100 defensive snaps....that will tell you more than ANYTHING that people THINK they know right now
5) none of this matters if the defense does not get at least tacit pressure from people not named TJ Watt or Alex Highsmith
6) lest we forget this player is a rookie
7) none of this matters if he ends up on IR.....especially if it is early

Wilson played the last 2 seasons fully healthy…
Hines ward had no acl in one knee ,played 13 yrs ,
Greg Lloyd had no acl in one knee and other was stapled together played 11 yrs
Hell Dejaun Blair an NBA player played like 8 yrs with no acl's in either knee
And if you're concerned about a missing ACL effecting his lateral movement, remember Thurman Thomas didn't have an ACL.
If we don’t get a wr that is at least a 2 then pickins is double or triple team

Could anyone predict Shazier's injury. This is a great pick. P Wilson is finally his replacement. Even if it ends up being for 4 years a later draft pick is worth it.
No one wants to predict a career ending injury, but he never came close to a 16 game year. Looking back, nothing really jumps off the stat sheet besides his ints.

Hey DK, I respect your opinion after seeing him in person, but Peyton Wilson was not universally accepted as the best. Some analysts were uncertain if he had the play strength and size to get off of blocks in the NFL

I am extremely motivated, and believe that he will be the best LB on our team, then Queen. It would be perfect if Holcomb could have been injury free and with that same explosive speed that he had last season prior to his injury. I wonder why he didn't keep # 11. He chose 41. I wonder if that has anything to do with Robert Spillane? Either way, I pray he will remain healthy, and be our guy for a decade. GO STEELERS!! 💛🖤🏉

DK why do you read suck ridiculous J1Q's? Patterson being 2 years away from 500 yds? So he's two years removed from a mediocre season. 2 years wouldn't make a difference if it was 2 years away from his rookie season but not 2 years away from his 9th or 10th season. And a fan that thinks Kahn should be happy with a bunch of #4's should listen more and talk/type less. I'm not a Steelers expert, that's why I listen.

Calm down Dk. P Wilson is merely a rookie. There is a long grueling process ahead of this guy and that before the season even begins. Expect him getting snaps on special teams and some rotational LB snaps on obvious passing downs. Perhaps more as the season grinds on.
