I completely agree. Sadly these days there are way too many people who are more than happy to be excessively lenient when it's probably not the best idea.
I've always had one issue with restraining/stay away orders... the victim should also be required to stay away & not attempt any contact with the recipient of the order.
I remember on a different video a judge said they do have such orders but they aren’t usual and need evidence to prove necessity. Agree with you tho, to some extent it should cut both ways

Agreed, but the courts consider them as not under the court's jurisdiction because they were not charged and are the victim. Courts can't give court orders to people with no charges.
Yeah except that gives the defendant more opportunities to try to contact the victim while being able to have the benefit of the doubt of there is problems. You can't just restrict someone legally because they're a victim
