Especially after the first round. I went into the fight halfway expecting him to get KO'd, but he fought a good round, only to get absolutely blasted. It's the hope that kills you.
It was the best way for him to lose. Contrary to what Dana said, if he got dominated to a decision he would’ve been kicked out of the UFC. Getting caught by a lucky shot won’t get him kicked out.

What a brutal devastating KO loss for Tony, him getting absolutely flatlined there and lying lifeless on the canvas for a few minutes, is just insane. On the other hand, what a great KO win for Michael Chandler, love to see him run it back with Gaethje or Oliveira, or even fight Poirier, at some point in the foreseeable future.

I don’t see my mom as often as I used to, family of my own these days. Had my mom over last night for the ppv. My mom is Vietnamese and grew up in Laos. When your package came on during the telecast she was reminded about her dad taking her to Muay Thai fights as a kid, and how it scared her. She’s 70 mind you, and it was a story I’ve never heard before. Idk man, it was just really nice… I credit you and your style for that moment.

At least he is consistent. TBH every time other than Romero, Izzy brings it, and even that had more action than the co-main. A couple epic rounds of fights though.

The first KD was real. The second one he could stand if he wanted, but this is his style now, once he gets a big clean hit, gets dizzy or his legs aren't 100% he kind of helps himself down. If they follow he is in guard, if they don't he gets his 10s for recovery...

It was a good card, yes. Chandler is a monster, and Oliveira is truly next level at this point in his career. Very good card overall, I admit I skipped the women's fight, but I am glad that Esparza won as she puts in a lot of work and deserves it more than Rose who has already been at the top.

Congrats to do Bronx, what a fighter. But regardless of his skills and will power, Gaethje definitely gotta work on his ground game. In both championship fights he looked paralysed and nervous a soon as he got to the floor. I mean in this sport you shouldn’t solely rely on your stand up game. But still Charles is just too good at the moment, I don’t see anyone in the division stopin‘ him 💪🏾
It's not just the ground game. He over swings and leaves openings that more technical guys like Charles, even Khabib, punish him for. He's just not quite good enough. He's a Chael Sonnen, Urijah Faber, or Cowboy Cerrone type. Better than pretty much everyone, but there's a certain level that he just can't hit.

If you watch the Gracie breakdown, Justin actually defended two of the submission attempts and got stuffed on the 3rd. Not saying he can't improve, but he didn't fold completely either. Charles is just too good

Just gotta say: 1- Tony should be proud of himself. He did so good. A KO can happen to anyone and people need to understand that. Tony in no way should feel done. He showed he really has so much ability left in him. I'm just glad he is okay with how he landed on his neck, guys can get paralyzed like that in football and stuff. I hope he just brushes off any nonsense fans that give up on fighters when fighters take risks. If someone is showing more signs of being done, that's when you talk about things but Tony is still looking really good. I thought he did great in the first round. It was like opposite of what Chandler vs Olivera was. So I hope he just rolls with it. (2nd, I can not believe that they took away Rose's belt over that fight? No one won that, it should have been a draw, rose should of gotten to keep her belt, she didn't "Lose" her belt in my opinion, it should have been a draw on her record and still have the belt because the champ didn't lose.) (3rd Charles Olivera shouldn't of lost his belt over .5 of a pound! And not even be able to win it back by winning this fight.. plus fighters were talking bout the scale ⚖️ and they really need to get rid of the human aspect of adjusting a manual old scale.. he shouldn't be punished that bad. Especially when if he actually has a chance of actually weighing 155 but that scale was off... Idk) what a crazy situation for all this...
I wanna say I agree about Tony but he's up there in age and has lost like his last 5 fights in a row I believe and all look bad for him. He's gotta retire at this point cause he's gonna be a walking cte case that might not bode well.
Rose didn't earn it. Esparza had the TDs and was "the aggressor" for 4 of 5 rounds. Rose did nothing the entire fight until the last 3 minutes of the final round. She was too busy screaming "I'm the best!".
While I do agree he still has more I think we need to acknowledge tony time is coming to an end and he deserves a true warriors send off
A KO can happen to anyone, but 4 straight losses where you’re dominated from start to finish is indicative that your career is over.
I agree he was looking on fire all the way until the Ko, even dropped chandler twice
