I totally miss the 90s. The way people just felt comfortable being themselves, original and real Hip Hop music, and real people basically. Now EVERYONE is fake, its all about sex getting laid etc, no one wants to build meaningful relationships anymore. I seriously feel bad for kids that grew up after 90s. 90s generation was era of real human interaction/meaning.

Hozar Hozo LOL. so biggie didn't rap about sex, drugs, or violence? neither did the wu-tang? or snoop? or eazy? or redman? or 2pac? or big l? or dre? or big pun? or onyx? you act like every rapper was a nas or lauryn hill.
what are you talking about? sure, i love the era as much as the next person, but to say that the decade was the only one of "real human interaction" is just ignorant. do some research and figure out who are making albums in 2015. try to make that argument afterwards. you can't.

    • @nabitall9575
      @nabitall9575 9 лет назад +2

Hozar Hozo you clearly don't know how to listen to hip hop direct quote from this song "I hit the skins collect the check now I'm ready to jet"... thats blatant meaningless sex, which is fine. shut up

    • @SpoofRecaps
      @SpoofRecaps 8 лет назад +26

+OZtheTechnician You're insanely ignorant. People are going to speak about that in every decade, that's never going to change. The MAJORITY consensus was an atmosphere as described by Hozar Hozo back in the 90s. Growing up in Bronx, New York, the origin of hip hop, I can personally draw from experience. Even the drug dealers in my building were about meaningful human interaction. It was a whole different era back then. No Facebook, no instagram, you were forced to interact with others which literally forces you to be "real". There's no being fake or acting like something you're not behind the internet at that time. You would get checked REAL quick.

    [Verse 1]
Okay so niggas got skills but still be jockin mine
I shape them cyphers in the form of octagons
So my shit can ricochet off the whole brigade
And blow up on emcees like a live grenade
I got that shit you lookin for so put it into quest
Infinite numbers count the flows I possess
Ancient rhyme styles are now put to a rest
Give you pains in your chest like work-related stress
I come to block rhymes and those who front Glock 9's
Gangster stories, and perpetrate the hard times
Out with the days when the darkness chased the youth
It's time for sun, race and finally then raise the truth
And bring forth the light, cuz it's only right
Two brothers with real skills get to rock the mic
Curse the gimmicks, I hate fake wanksters and mimics
It's time for Hip-Hop to be truly represented
    Check the flow
    [Chorus + Vocal sample]
You know you've got a flow that makes me feel so nice

My peoples in Virginia, check the flow
You with them Carolinas, check the flow
My peoples in Miami, check the flow
    [Verse 2]
Okay it's one for the money, two for the time
Three for the opportunity to go for mine
We'll eliminate them sucka crews line after line
Shootin lyrics like a 9 with a style defined
From the minute I go in it takin shit to the limit
Makin sure the hilltop is properly represented
Cause that be the rest pot, brothers that test got
A quarter for back, we make it hot like a zest spot
In the backroom we never make a wack tune
We got the props to get ya open like Black Moon
Brothers be testin me, booty style stressin me
Everybody claim they got the flava for the recipe
Some want the money, some do it for the sexin
Some spend they lives tryna sound like the next man
Well, I got skills on the mic, ayo I never fronted
The L's real, kid, so act like you want it

    [Verse 3]
No competition when I'm speakin on this non-fiction
Layin it down on 8 second bits of repetition
My expedition begins where my diction accents
The average level - I'm a certified funk rebel
Who won't tolerate emcees I consolidate
Into one crew, so less suckaz I must run through
Who claim they nice on the mic, but what they got for me?
I'm something fierce when it comes to the auditory
My mic sings like a hummingbird, that's my word
My claim to fame is the fliest that you ever heard
Yo pass the mic to L. Fly and let me catch wreck
Cause I gets busy, the show or the soundcheck
It doesn't matter yo, the pockets gettin fatter
You can save all the chatter cause we thick like batter
Somebody gotta win, somebody gotta lose
Yo I pay my dues and I refuse to lose
Givin crews the blues with any style you choose
We chantin real Hip-Hop, fuck the "Ahh's!" and "Oo's!"
Yo the L's been phat, so you best protect ya neck

Quite a few lyrics here aren't correct - "It's time for sun rise so finally embrace the truth" is the correct bar for that line. "So brothers with real skills" not Two brothers. Its "Pranksters" not Wanksters. It's "Rest spot" instead of rest pot, "Cess Spot" instead of zest spot because he's talking about a smoke spot as well as the quarter for back part actually being "Call the fuck back" - and finally it's "When my addiction extends" (obviously because he's addicted to spitting bars)
Got most of it right though.

dude @hankeshh thank you so much for uploading all this. I cant stand the current iteration of trap influenced beat production and raga style vocals. Styles come and go, and its all good, but this was a special time for rap and hip hop, and if you grew up in the suburbs of the west coast this is like gold, because its all new to me, like someone granted me a wish i didn't know I could make.
