    Love our F&P counter-depth fridge- it's our 3rd time to buy due to move and renos. We love the simplicity and flexibility of the interior and no icemaker to leak or fail. I do wish we'd gone with a panel-ready model as the stainless on the doors is so fragile.

    Love the new video format! We have a full depth Samsung 4 door with family hub. Our favorite feature is the self filling water pitcher. The family hub is a little goofy and our friends think its crazy that you can answer the front door from the fridge. I tell them that it does our taxes too and they dont know if they should beleive me or not, lol.

    Thanks for these reviews, I appreciate this and so many of your other videos! Yours is one of only a VERY FEW that offer honest, reliable and knowledgeable info. We're one of the gazillions burned by the Samsung ice maker catastrophe and are committed to replacing it this holiday sales season. I've learned along the way that virtually ALL internal door ice dispensers have the (potential) flaw of being in the refrigerator compartment as the fundamental issue, and unfortunately Samsung's designs were more set up for failure than others? Having said that, we don't want to get burned again, but the newer LG Max Counter-Depth models with the craft ice seems so appealing, but is limited (at least in our area) to those external ice dispenser models. Obviously no guarantees, and statistically they will have more service issues than models with only internal ice dispensers, BUT how do you think LG has managed the external ice dispenser in the refrigerator compartment issue? Is there's a superior design? Or are we just asking for the same problems? ("Fool me twice..." sort of thing)

    4:28 The LG autodoor is what we need (well, need is a strong term, but still) on paneled refrigerators with no handles. I think only a few high end models have a regular push to open, but to my knowledge only Liebherr has the completely hands free opening on their newest paneled models that are not yet sold in USA. Oddly enough, also called autodoor. Unlike LG, they also fully open. Hopefully that type of tech makes it to more fridges and of other brands too.
    Thanks for the rankings!

    First off... Hands down the BEST appliance channel.
    I've had the no frills LG Counterdepth Max for almost a year (I think I got one of the first to come out). I don't like visible dispensers in the door so its a great nearly built in look without the price tag. The freezer is great but mine doesn't have a craft ice option (sue me I'm a whiskey cocktail person). Regarding the size I know it says it's 26.5/27 cuft but IMHO it still doesn't fit as much as the 25yo Kenmore Elite it replaced (no idea what model or size). It's fine for 2 or 3 people, I think I would struggle in larger household size. Zero issues so far with reliability or with the water dispenser or ice maker, I did have to remove a half shelf to accommodate taller items like oj, milk and champagne. We will see how the single compressor and evaporator workout over time also no ethylene scrubber like Beko or other far more expensive brands. The one thing that absolutely drives me nuts is the doors tend to slam shut very hard and very easily and shake like crazy, maybe it could use better hinges. Overall it's amazing for the price point. I do wish all mfg would make it so you can swap handle styles. I'm not matchy-matchy but all my other kitchen appliances are the round tubular pro-style handles, LG is basic bow handles. It would be nice to have the option to buy a kit to change the handles. But it does it's job well at a low price point, I shouldn't nit pick.

      I don’t think you’re loosing a lot by not having the craft ice. I believe it can one or two of those spherical ice balls per day which is not that useful. A 10$ ice tray can do better imo. One of my friends has such a lg model and the other day I was making fun of that saying it’s a fridge or a hen which lays 2 eggs everyday 😂

I recently bought a floor model from a retailer in NH and it was shipped to me completely uncovered and I watched the delivery guys destroy the thing right in front of me while they tried to deliver it, so I'm back on the market for a 48 inch wide fridge. @brianfritz575 5 месяцев назад +14

    Sorry, but I cannot even watch past your review and ranking of the LG refrigerator. Does LG class action lawsuit ring a bell? How many customers does LG / Kenmore need to screw over with their compressor issues before you pay attention! Then, you say nothing about the issue, and we know the linear compressors are the ones with the issue, which they use in counter depth models! Based on this alone, you should be giving it a huge fail... then you give it the best rating, because it has lots of space? Of course it does, because they've saved space from putting in a compressor that will last for more than two years!

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  5 месяцев назад +6

      It does ring a bell....and I am glad you brought it up. From 2014-2017, they had issues. That class action was settled in 2019.
      Their compressors have improved at least from our service stats....But I can understand the concern.
      The warranty is now 10 years on the compressor/5 are full parts and labor.
