How much of your blade are you currently forging? Which part do you find the most exciting? Massive thanks to Modern Cooking for sponsoring this video! Check out their collaborative hand-forged kitchen knife range: moderncooking.com/en-gb/collections/birch-and-bevel
Damn Vinz @ukbladeshow, you're doing such a great job editing, even I'm curious how the series continues, despite the fact I was right there with you! 👌😂
Thanks so much. Very interesting videos. Love how little waste there is. I am also interested in the forge burner design using compressed air... I haven't seen this much. Is this something that can be shared in another video?
It's a south German pattern anvil so it has a very thin waist. When you look closely you'll see that it doesn't ring when forging in the middle at all. So the setup is good. Bottom line - I don't really mind the ringing anyways as long as the blows don't feel like I'm using force because I'm having my ear protection in anyways.
@@TingTingalingy and you'd think that would help with ringing? I mean I never tried it, but I doubt it. Apart from that, I don't see much reason to do it. The ringing doesn't bother me working with that anvil ;).

Hahaha 🤣 thanks dude! That comment gave me a chuckle hahaha! Thanks for sharing this process with all of us buddy! Speak to you again soon!
Great video as usual
Thanks again Franco! Very nice of you mate!
Liking what I am seeing so far, given me a couple of ideas to try out as well
Thx. Hope it's a slight inspiration maybe :).
Cheers Andy!
I was wondering for a while now how Benjamin Kamon forge these knifes. Thank you for the insight!
Thanks for watching! 🙏😊
Ditto Benjamin's comments ;)
Been looking forwards to this👍 Thanks for the video.
Hey man thanks for the comment! I hope you enjoyed it!
Coming along very nicely :)
Cheers Rob! Finale will show all the hard work but of course, not everything goes well all the time as you may know...
Very nice work. This is similar to the forging of scissors. Not easy.
Benjamin is excellent! Show him some love and follow him on Instagram 🥰🥰🥰

Thanks Chris! Good question. I will have a look into making a video on gas forges at some point in the future. Thanks!
Lin Rhea is another bladesmith that forges knives very similar to this style!
That's true. Lin Rhea and his X-Rhea knives were, as mentioned in the video, a big inspiration for those knives.
🤩🤩🤩
That will needs magnets, it's ringing like a church bell.
I assume you meant anvil, but that's a great idea! I've got a huge magnet not doing anything, that'll be way better than the clamps I'm using now!
To be fair though, the horn tends to ring more than the face.

@@kamon_knives magnets can be put all over it.
