In lately 80'ies my father had come with a tape of Baiju Bawra, even if we didn't understand the language, we loved the songs very much. I actually fell in love with these songs. For years, I only searched for the name of the movie and the songs in my mind. I also found one by one. While watching the whole movie with subtitles i understand more and remember those old days and what I lost. I commemorate Naushad, Lata and Rafi with respect, as someone who has given their heart to this cinema and songs from many kilometers away, that is, in Turkey.

I am 66 years old and only now i came to know about Meena Kumari and watching this movie....she resembles very much Telugu ( my mother tongue) legend actress Savitri
Who is married to Gemini Ganeshan and acted in Telugu version of Miss Mary ( by Meena Kumari and Gemini Ganeshan)....
Their personal lives...( drinking... misery )also similar. End also same..
I wonder.....they had great opportunity for personal transformation.. through dialogue story moral lyrics...they were enacting

In my opinion this movie has the best songs and poetry out of all Indian movies ever made. The only ones that come close are pakeeza and taj mahal.
