      @@OneBagTravels I'm leaning more towards the roll up waterproof bag.... but now I'm curious to see what you'll say about the windowed toiletry bags in next week's video 😅

      @@tdot5847 The clear window ones are all much smaller than these, and not as waterproof. Still working on the video =)

    Just want to say I’m a big fan of your reviews. I’m so indecisive when it comes to bags. You’ve compared all the bags I’ve been looking at lately. I ultimately went with the REI Big Haul 40L based your reviews. I couldn’t decide between the Patagonia black hole, REI big haul, and North Face base camp. You’re reviews are very thorough and informative. Thank you!

      I'm one of those travel bag collectors that likes having all sorts of options.. and I actually have an older version of the North Face, a (90 litre - don't laugh) Patagonia which is too big but it makes a great year hall, and the REI. I actually fell in love with the REI so much I have a couple of different sizes and the new material is slightly less weight. I love the simplicity of the Big Haul, especially the outside cinch straps! Cheers!

      Thanks! I'm indecisive too, which is part of the reason I started the channel, so I could look at all the bags I liked 😆Big Haul is great for a simple duffel. Years later it's still one of my favorites.

    Gotta love Saturdays. Crepes or some type of brunch.. and (often) a new video from OBT.
    I've already been using the Matador soap bar case as I prefer to use solid soaps because they do not count against your liquids when flying but soap cases are so cumbersome plus they don't adjust as the bar gets smaller. This does! I also use a matador daypack sometimes and I have a matador tiny tiny packable picnic blanket.
    You had mentioned the Matador toiletry bags were coming up and I was curious..
    One thing about Matador is also my self-imposed overuse of the color black. From Labour Day to Memorial Day I wear black, a lot of my luggage is black and my older bags have black interiors.
    Then you put black tech pouches or bags like this and they're harder to see at a glance. However, I am a fan of simplicity over lots of pockets! Thanks for pointing out that there was a roll-top waterproof vs the zip-top water resistant.
    I have been using a very simple pouch like these with a 2" gusset on the bottom from amazon.. the company is called "pack all" if I'm allowed to say and they're just simple pouches good for tech or water resistant bags for toiletries. They don't have a loop on the middle but they have a carabiner on the top corner that is really great for clipping on to a backpack or small rod. $10 to $13 depending on size. And comes in a few colours.
    Definitely appreciate the video though, considering the rolltop... Just stuck on the color black thing in all honesty. Cheers!

      I like black too for the simplicity, but it does tend to get a little boring. The zipper matador pouch actually comes in a light blue color, which looks really nice.Those pack all bags look nice, the compression bags remind me of the Eagle Creek spectre but much cheaper, cheers!

      @@OneBagTravels I'll look into the blue.. I'm pretty much set on packing cubes and I only saw the compression bags after I had purchased the Spectre! I had never purchased anything Eagle Creek because it seemed to have a bad return rate at REI garage sales... and then you featured the Specter and now it's one of my top three I would say!

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  Год назад +1

      @@IntriguedLioness Eagle Creek is hit or miss with me, I really like that toiletry bag and some of the packing cubes. Their packs are ok, but not the quality I would expect compared to the cubes.

    I was wondering if Matador had a bigger bag like the soap bag to put wet clothes that will dry during traveling. It looks like this is true. Yeah!

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  Год назад +2

      These don't work well enough to dry clothes. They'll dry out a bar of soap, but soggy clothes aren't going to dry out in here. They're also not that big, maybe you could fit a few pairs of underwear in here. For wet clothes I could just use a ziplock bag, and hang them to dry when you have a chance.
