  • This is a simple video walking through the reset of the oil service light for the 2019-2020 Mazda CX-9 SUV.
The vehicle used was a signature series, and my oil of choice is PurÖl Elite Synthetic.

What is the recommended miles/km before the first oil change?

3000-5000 miles. I use PurÖl synthetic, after that.

Thanks. If it does not self reset after a few miles, you may need a TPMS reset device.

My Mazda dealer has told me even if you change the oil yourself , you have to go into the ECU and tell the car it's had an oil change, you can't do it using that screen, you can turn off oil light thats correct, but you can't reset actual car has had a oil change, without going into ECU, and you need to do this because car needs to know oil dilution and when it needs to do a regen , it will still think it's running on old oil

Thanks for the input, but this does exactly that. Good strategy, by your dealer, though.
