This is an incredible song & album! The greatest era of soul/r&b was the 70’s and late 60’s. Silk Sonic would have a good group back then. Have to hear at least a couple more elite albums like this to put them as a great 70’s group.

I don’t think people fully appreciate how good of a drummer Anderson is. His grooves are so distinct. His fills are almost melodic and so fully phrased. His sense of syncopation is amazing; you almost never hear him repeat an idea and he surprises you all the time. It’s pretty hard as a drummer to shine as the focal point of a rhythm section in anything that funk influenced when the bass is just so central. But he manages to without detracting from the song. This is the kind of stuff you mainly only hear from the session drummer on the track, not the featured artist. And if you think it’s hard to sing and play the guitar at the same time, try this.

This is an incredible song & album! The greatest era of soul/r&b was the 70’s and late 60’s. Silk Sonic would have a good group back then. Have to hear at least a couple more elite albums like this to put them as a great 70’s group.

I don’t think people fully appreciate how good of a drummer Anderson is. His grooves are so distinct. His fills are almost melodic and so fully phrased. His sense of syncopation is amazing; you almost never hear him repeat an idea and he surprises you all the time. It’s pretty hard as a drummer to shine as the focal point of a rhythm section in anything that funk influenced when the bass is just so central. But he manages to without detracting from the song. This is the kind of stuff you mainly only hear from the session drummer on the track, not the featured artist.
And if you think it’s hard to sing and play the guitar at the same time, try this.
