Love that Silk Sonic is introducing 70's soul to newer generations. Younger people are socially conscious and involved like they were in the 60's and 70's so it's the perfect time to bring this flavor back to mainstream. 70's was the best decade for music, especially the Soul genre.
We should compare them to the original artist and see which is the stand out

@@ayndowney9401 The original artist is ConFunkShun and it's close. As much as I loved ConFunkShun back n the day Silk Sonic performed it with more choreography and energy. I loved it!
Hell yeah----I remember when the original version of Love's Train by Confunksion came out back in '83----loved the hell out of that song as a kid--it was one of my top 20 slow songs that year. Both of these two talented as hell artists couldn't have picked a better song to unless their talents on. I love how they decided to do the whole '60s-'70s group dance routines which were typical of groups from that era----it's wonderful to see. Since both of them have a strong '70s-'80s influence on their music----Anderson.Paak in particular----I'm not at all surprised to see them kill it on this performance, lol

The choreographer and costumer reserve awards, plus whoever gave Anderson that wig. When he does that turn and his hair mimics the leg sweep, it's delightful. The whole package is fantastic.

I'm not a huge fan of remakes, but this is fire.
I still love the original, but this was an outstanding cover. In fact ConFunkShun was a R&B with funky guitars and a horn section when they came out in the 1970's, but the original version of this song was released in 1982, and you can hear some of the 80's production sound with synthesizers. I consider this cover the version of the song ConFunkShun wanted to release originally.

I agree. These big shows, Grammys, Billboards, etc put together the musical acts, they have the sound set up perfectly. Even SNL does a great job with musical guest. The live version sounds just as good or better than the record.

Silk Sonic, nobody's touching them 2021-2022. The coldest act to hit the stage in years. I've been privileged to grow up to listen to music in the 70's, 80's, 90's and through 2000s and these brothas are great in any of these decades.

Love's Train is a timeless song that just never gets old. I love how Silk Sonic honored it by adding a little seasoning without destroying the flavor and taste. 40 years later and it's still popping. Playing the original and Silk Sonic back to back brought a tear to my eye, I heard Con Funk Shun drop the mic and Silk Sonic pick it up and drop it again!

Bruno Mars will probably have a long career because he has a large fan base. He appeals to the young and old. This song is the way he uses old school music. And it sounds just as good as the original.... not better, just different.
Seen Silk Sonic in concert recently and they are fantastic. They made me feel like a young adult again. I felt nothing but love for them. So very exciting and awesome moves and sounds. Felt so very happy my 2 children took me to see Bruno. I am blessed. I’m 64 yrs old and my children and Bruno made a memory for me I’ll cherish FOREVER. God bless them all.

Con Funk Shun's music really deserved this kind of PR. What an underrated group. I'm 59 years old and I've watched this vid about 30 times now ----- it's magic; 1982 was my SR year in high school. This takes me back. Thank you Silk Sonic and all you other younger musicians for making this happen for folks like me.

I’m 27 but I have an old soul and grew up on this music. I assume these classic oldies hit so much different now than when you grew up considering how basic and non musical modern music is today. Back then, there were so many great artists and bands that now you have to think that you’re spoiled to have lived that. Silk Sonic has produced probably my favorite album of all time as it reminds me of the music my parents love but aside from them, most artists are chipping from older classic and trying to reinvent them to no avail. But others are making me love the original versions so much better. Kendrick’s Heart pt 5 made me look at Marvin’s I Want You so much differently as it has all of the things that make Kendrick’s version so good but decades ago. I love this silk Sonic movement

Most definitely. I saw them way back at the Circle Star Theater with LTD in San Carlos, CA. Was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The Circle Star is gone now, but Man it was a great venue.

I'm 75 years old and have experienced a lot of music (all genres) in my day, both listening and creating. Silk Sonic takes me back to the days when it was exciting to see groups perform . Not only could they really sing, they were "clean" (well dressed) and their routines were tight. Silk Sonic has followed suit and it makes them such a pleasure to watch. It's great to see young people make and perform REAL music. The collaboration between Bruno and Anderson is BRILLIANT ! Love the band too. I'm looking forward to hearing their next album. Work your show fellas!

I like that Silk Sonic performs whatever they want and they don’t feel like they need to milk just a few songs. Most musicians feel like they just have to perform the songs that did absurd numbers but they can just do everything.
It’s not the artist that do that. It’s the award shows/management. “Leave the door open” was released last year so they wouldn’t preform that in 2022
Silk Sonic milked Leave the Door Open. All artists do it, it's part of promotion, required by their labels.
That's a thing alot of modern singers aren't good at writing music that can be performed life, wheras silk sonic know how to write music for a live audience. Yes this song is a cover but they still changed up the instrumentals for a more 70s sound.
