One thing I really like about BeamNG is their goal of creating the most realistic damage model possible. It makes you drive like the real thing - looking after the car - trying to save the car so it goes the distance. It also instills real fear into the experience. You hit one rock - that's it! Done!
Which is why if it had the multiplayer of iracing and the track scans of iracing and ac it would be the ultimate racing sim hell someone made a mod with dynamic weather and track conditions
@@butterlord-nq3ei i think they are developing it in that direction? At least i hope so. If it has tracks, real race cars, race starts, pit stops etc… it could be THE sim
@@SchweinerSchinkler right now they are developing a ‘career mode’ (this includes racing but apparently the ai is pretty easy). Multiplayer racing doesn’t seem like a viable route to go down until the game is more optimised and cpus are more powerful, right now most people with solid PCs will only be able to have like 9 cars on track at once before their pc dies.
@@sonicsupersam7793 There is a multiplayer mod that works quite well. I have a mid-level machine with only 16gb ram and I can run servers with custom mods + 15 other cars at full fps. People have also datamined assets they think are gonna be used for an official multiplayer mode. By the way, imagine a multiplayer endurance race in Beam with full simulated damage and tire wear. It would be insane
@@pseudonym50 yeah, I’m aware of beamMP. My cpu is a bit outdated, but it’s good to hear most people can run it comfortably.
BeamNG is so underrated
Finally a decent mod for the Nurburgring! Can't wait to try it out myself.

Man, watching a car bounce as it's being pushed is so satisfying.
Really hope they bring VR support to this game.
Edit: it's been added!
I'm getting it if they do.
Oh yeah VR would be so awesome!!! I tried it the yesterday after the update, but I can't drive on a monitor anymore... Just to flat.

Beam in 5 years will be so realistic real life will feel unrealistic I swear
So in 4 years beamng will become unrealistic
@@DarkNocta That's not what he said. He said that beamng drive will be so realistic so that real life would feel "unrealistic".

@@DarkNocta He is joking about beamngs realism
@@DarkNocta y u mad bro
Honestly, i can never have enough Beamng. I followed it since its origins and it really has come a long way. I remember back when there were only sport tyres available and they felt like hard long life tyres, making the bolide a nightmare to drive. I feel like the last update with the pbr materials (or however it was) improved the game A LOT visually, with all the small details everywhere and a decent metallic paint. Next is for proper real life car mods instead of bootleg ones, since the beamng website doesnt allow them.
beamng MOD page, not FORUMS. you can actually find a licensed car in game forums
@@Беспроводнойактивныйсабвуфер i said specifically the Beamng webpage, the issue with that is that since the mods for real cars dont show up neither in the repository nor in their page, once they do come out they come out underdeveloped and low quality
Why tho can't we be free from manufacturer bias beamng perfectly captures driving without all the politics and I like it
@@Ferrari255GTO Because it's illegal?
Mods are a gray zone, technically the manufacturers could sue most modders who do that, but if a developer studio does it a lawsuit from _at least_ one manufacturer is very likely.
Again we don't need real cars car fanatics will tear the game apart when something doesn't act like muh "Chevy does in real life"
You should line up an interview with Mitchell Sahl, He's a level designer for BeamNG and he's from Brisbane, He's done LIDAR maps of Lakeside Raceway and Mt Cootha in Brisbane.
Here's a presentation he did at a game conference about how he works and approaches open world tracks/maps : ruclips.net/video/uGmiYWQ8Uhw/видео.html
And he's done laps at the Nordschleife as well so you'd get along with him :)
Can confirm that lakeside raceway mod is super great
That makes sense why Lakeside is dev quality. It’s from an actual dev 😂
Oh nice! Had no idea he was from Brisbane, me too. Driven Mt Cootha many times.
so that's why mt cootha is a great map - didn't know it was a beamng dev's project lol

Can you show us your feedback settings? And maybe even a “first time beamng user” setup guide? I have the game but never knew how to setup up most things and navigate the menus properly.
I would really like this. I’ve done a lot of tinkering with my ffb to try to mimic how it feels in Assetto Corsa but I have no idea if it is really set up right. I want it to be as realistic as possible.
What helps immensely is just using your AC FFB LUT and throwing it in BeamNG.
I have a ton of time in BeamNG (and AC) on controller and just got a wheel (G923). I might be on the wrong side of the Dunning, Kruger effect but here’s what I’ve found.
Use the FFB Graph app (in Customize UI Apps) to help you tune your FFB settings.
If your FFB is maxing out you don’t have any wheel feel. Try to have the FFB max out in banked corners/hitting curbs or bumps in banked corners (Automation, Hirochi, East Coast, Utah).
Race cars have the most FFB so tune your max with them (200BX Track, ETK I TRACK) I don’t spend much time in high downforce cars so maybe tune around them (Sunburst Hillclimb).
Regular street cars don’t have as much grip or as much FFB.
Some cars (or some cars you make) will have shaky, wobbly steering. I put 15x8 STX wheels on a 200BX. Even after tuning the offset to -0.02 the offset is to much and the steering isn’t sturdy enough to stop shaking violently in turns.
Adjusting the “Smoothing” can eliminate that but it would also remove curb and road feel from other cars.
I have most recently set my force feedback Strength to 250 and my Smoothing to 50. The G923 doesn’t have that much torque so maxing it out how I set it up. When I drive the Sunburst Hillclimb on flat ground I max out at 130mph but I’m not driving it. If you are, set Strength below 250.
The G923 has 900 degrees of rotation. Race cars have less regular cars have more.
1:N means max lock on your wheel is max lock on the car.
1:1 means your wheel and your car have the same number if wheel rotations to max lock. This is a problem with the semi truck because it has 1800 degrees of rotation meaning I can only steer 50% with my wheel.
1:1 hybrid Is the same as the previous but at 50% wheel lock for you it changes the steering ration for the remaining lock if you wouldn’t be able to make it. Extreme example: I steer 50% the semi steers 25%. I steer 100% the semi steers 100%. The base Moonhak only has like 1080 degrees of rotation so its effects aren’t as extreme. 50% is 40% and 100% is 100%.
I’d recommend the 1:1 hybrid because it lets you drive with realistic wheel rotation for race and sports cars while giving you the sluggish feel from old/slow/large vehicles.
There are probably better suggestions than this on the BMNG forums on their website. www.beamng.com/forums/
I’ve never used a LUT but I got my wheel last week.
Edit: The G setting improves steering feel drastically but you’ll need to lower steering force. I currently am used 220.
there are tutorials you can check out too
Can we appreciate him flatting out thru the Ring and commenting + talking to us casually? It takes real skill.
Just waiting for VR, hopefully some day…

Glad to see this game get some of the dynamic physics coverage it deserves! You did a good job of showing off the physics by being a knowledgeable talented driver which is really hard to find in BeamNG videos. Cant wait for more! Especially as time goes on and the game updates

Excellent episode!! BeamNG is slowly morphing into the surprise sim that a lot of people don’t expect at all. It’s amazing to watch it grow and improve with every patch and there is already so much functionality in there.
I just downloaded the current version - damn it’s all in now for the track, maybe some stuff like the Rasengittersteine don’t rumble as expected, but the rest just nails it!!! Taking the "ETK K- Series Track day " Car or the "Cherrier FCV Vivace Race" is just so good - makes you wonder what the other "sims" are actually all doing. Damn this is so good!!! BeamNG and Real Racetracks - God we have to kickstart this to make at least some more race sim content and racing logic stuff into the game!! or a full Racing and More Sim out of this! Now some rain, puddles, marbles and VR and its perfect :-).
(The link is already listed below, I hope Kirbyguy brings some more tracks "ruclips.net/channel/UCaCBi3idRe5B0B4oTyu81CA" )
Imagine beamng, full sim racing, online multiplayer magic, with a FULL DAMAGE MODEL, and cars actually having mechanical systems break while driving around tracks. That’s the def of a full blown ultra realistic sim.
Look up beammp
Hopefully we can find a better way to eliminate trolling/griefing in BeamMP. At the moment, the only way to deal with it is to select the players name from the player list and then delete their car as you normally would delete your own. This solves the interruptions to your gameplay, but it severely detracts from the immersion; the person’s car that you deleted is just an orange blob that can’t collide with anything other than the environment.

I was going to reference that also, but I'll just let what you've said stand.
This is awesome Ermz. I'm so glad you did a video on this. I just bought BeamNG and now I'm going to have to finally install and try this.
One benifit that the devs have at their disposal is the fact that they actually work on cars in real life. They know how they work and how all the differemt parts react to different scenarios so that is how they are able to bring auch a real feeling into the driving model.
I think we all want to see the pigeon on the ring next
I think a lot of the top sim racers will be found out in this game. actual consequences for some of the shit they do to the cars to get those lap times...
Can you elaborate on the last sentence?
@@ID1visor I assume he means messed-up setups, rapid downshifting, stuff like that
A few tenths here and there from abusing game mechanics, sure. But realistically even in those other sims the top sim racers there will also be the top sim racers here.. No one is truly cutting it at the top level based on physics abuses alone
@@ID1visor yeah. crazy setups. driving like you would if you knew you couldn't break an engine. losing more than just time if you hit a curb too hard.
You should try rally stage on Beamng, best experience ever, love the physics.
I really have a good opinion on beamng i play it way too often
When i told my friend about it, he tried it and he messaged me saying
"dude i just crashed my car into a tree at 30mph and its saying engine damaged"
What can i tell dude, he say it's unrealistic and not worth the money, fr dude just played arcade games for his entire life before trying it
I take a base Bolide on the Nordschleife all the time for joyrides. I tell you, the Bolide may be terrifying if you're really trying to race it, but take it slow with a Bolide and you're in for a great time. Also, you should check out Laguna Seca and Pike's Peak
The Soliad Wendower Race spec is a fantastic car to drive on this track, you can accelerate full speed while cornering in that car!
The best thing about this is that if you crash, you actually enjoy it. Ermin I think you should just brutally crash at the end of every video of this Nordschleife series just for the typical BeamNG pleasure. :D
"It felt like crap! That was awesome!" 😂
To anyone struggling with setting up their FFB, you probably should watch the 0.21 video by The Extra Mile. I'm no expert but it helped me.
Make sure you've got the FFB Debug UI app open so you see what's going on.
I've found that a strength that feels nice and the least smoothing that won't make it jitter incessantly is my favorite setup.
For my taste, adding in lateral force feedback is probably counterproductive. You should absolutely be able to feel through the wheel where the limit is, which is way more important than simply how much force the vehicle is subjected to. Feel free to play around with it but I've found it just stiffens up the steering for no benefit.
"It felt like crap, that was awsome!"
Ok, I'm downloading beamNG, convinced.

BeamNG has really been slept on over the last year. I struggle to find as much enjoyment in any other sim at the moment. If you haven’t played it yet, you can thank me later
thats whats great about BeamNG; since the physics are so realistic the game readily transitions to a racing sim
Im shocked,i looked at BeamNG as a joke sandbox when it came out,but this makes me buy it now
You should drive on the map with a few friends on a beamMP private server.

You can already get a nicely sized grid of '70 and '80 cars in beamng, it just lacks tracks and racing AI, but it supports both so someday you may get what you want.
You can also buy the automation game and make any car you wish to import in beamng.
EDIT: sry was confused with GTL, but there is a '50 F1 set of cars on the mod repository
@@martinocesaratto Either one would be great and sounds like it is not too far off!
Here is an idea for a video Ermin. If you could build a Sim using the best parts of all the available sims? Also Suggestion to the mainline sims. Why don’t you contract Ermin to help you improve your product. He certainly understands what the customer needs and wants. Imagine iRacing buys or contracts with BeamNG…
It's amazing!! 😍🤘
I'm really looking forward to watching you do this with all Race and Hillclimb versions of BeamNG vehicles!! 🤟
youre praising how amazing the sim is while constantly locking the tires into corners and having zero issues :P
This game doesn't officially have tire wear/temps (there's a mod I saw though) but it's not like he was in full lock turning into corners. He locked, let off to unlock, then turned. And every other part of the driving experience is excellent so does it matter that much really?
I keep saying it and will always say it. If eSports recognised and used beamng for various types of races(rally, f1 and wec/gt series) the competition would be too high, the prizes will be too awesome and overall driver skill will be immaculate.
With VR and multiplayer, this sim is all I ever need.
Hopefully we can find a better way to eliminate trolling/griefing in BeamMP. At the moment, the only way to deal with it is to select the players name from the player list and then delete their car as you normally would delete your own. I definitely want to see this become a series.
Interesting... The sense of speed is surreal. That is lacking in a lot of sims, but the sense of speed in this video feels amazing just from watching.
That might be because the FOV was too high 😅
In terms of realism this is the most impressive simulator out there. Compared to real world driving this is the game which gives me the best experience.

Never could get it working properly with my DD1. Even completely removed BeamNg and and started over.
I believe you can adjust the FOV with Numpad 9 and 3
i would absolutely love to see a hotlapping series around BeamNG Drive and the nordschleife.
Hotlapping is my favorite thing to do in beamng, even tho i don't have a sim rig (#X360ControllerLife)
We need a lap time leaderboard and see what real GT3 cars are like here.
Beamng could make a project cars like title with lots of cars and tracks
the thing that is holding beamng back is liscenced content, or lack thereof. i think the devs at beamng need to launch a seperate liscenced racing sim that has the beamng engine running it and better graphics, then it will be the pinacle of racing sims
Yea and then find a company that allows their cars to be completely mangled by Beam's damage model lol. But really though it isn't being held back by the lack of licensed content, there is also a good side to unlicensed content as they don't have to deal with all the bureaucracy and then also pay a lot of money for the licenses. It really just doesn't have the feature set yet to be a proper sim racing title. It lacks a bunch of different systems to set up proper races. And no official Online yet either. But player population wise it is bigger than any "real sim". Saying all that i do think it will eventually get there, the devs are really good.
@@namesii1880 I think the reason why car companies are hesitant is because if their car gets damaged, competitors might be able to get a look "under the hood".
I think beamng is going to be in the metaverse
He's turning into Jimmy now
