My first summer living in Alaska, after getting home from work at 4:00 PM, I put my sweats on and took a nap. I woke up at 9:PM and thought I was late for work. I hurried up and got dressed and rushed into work. No one was there. I wish I could say that only happened once.
The Alaska life that no one ever talks about! That's too funny. I've had this happen to me plenty of times. I love the daylight hours during the summer, it's a lot of fun. What part of Alaska did you live in?
Yes, we were in Fairbanks and it was hot! But... we drove a few hours away (to the nearest hot springs) and found the temperatures dipping below freezing. Wide range! Really good advice. Clear, simple and fun. We just subscribed--would love to be YT friends!
I would love to explore Alaska in the summertime with so much light! April has been on an Alaskan cruise and has told me how trippy it is for it to be so bright at 11pm. I think moose are so cool. I want to see whales from the road! 😃
I love this. My wife actually worked in Alaska for June, July and August like you said - during the best months out there (for visitors at least). Crazy the sun is up for so long each day! -c/t
hi Andrea! Great videos and love your articulation. :) My hubby and I will be working from Fairbanks for 13weeks this summer. What do you recommend for weekend trips?
During the weekends you can go explore Denali State Park, Denali National Park, lots of adventures along the Richardson Highway like Castner Glacier and Gulkana Glacier. You can visit Chena Hot Springs, Manley Hot Springs North Pole. Lots of hiking trails in Chena River State Rec Area 😁
Haha, the a/c. People told us we didn't need it when we moved to MT...boy were they wrong!!! Yes, love hiking. Which National Park would you visit if you could only choose one? My husband would love the multi day canoe trip. Oooh, whale watching would be so fun. Yeah, a car rental in Summer is so pricey! Oooh, that highway drive sounds stunning. Small towns are my favorite. Thanks for the tips!
I would suggest Lake Clark National Park or Katmai for the bear viewing. It is expensive (about $600) but you can go with a naturalist guide and it is truly a magical experience. Denali State Park is a great alternative to the National Park. Kesugi Ridge is a popular multi-day hike. Watch out for the mosquitoes though! Thanks for watching!
The daylight is something that Giorgio would really love to experience. Marion is from Sweden so the weather is quite similar to Alaska. We have never been there, the wildlife is incredible, we would love to try one of those salmons of yours!
I am planning a trip in summer for my family and can’t decide between Fairbanks as a jumping off point or anchorage. I like nature, my teen likes shopping. We don’t like crowds. Thoughts?
There is definitely less crowds farther north unless you’re in Denali National Park. But crowds here are never too big. Shopping is better in Anchorage because it offers a lot more. But there is nature everywhere!
Yes! June and July are the warmest months out of the year. All of the small town tourist spots and tour operations are open during that time. What do you hope to do or see?
Oh dear! I seriously had no idea that in Summer there is a hot weather in Alaska!!! I would have never imagined people over there wear tshirts and use air conditioning!!! :D :D :D Actually a friend of mine told me, but I was kind of sure he was simply joking! :D How bad is ignorance!!!!
Yes, the people I meet around the world always think that Alaska is ice and winter all year long. They are shocked when I tell them it gets hot! :D It's a nice place to be in the summertime.

I still need to visit Sweden. The salmon is amazing. I have a really tasty salmon dip recipe when you're ready for it!
Thank you
I like to hit the Seward Highway early morning.
Me too. Especially on summer weekends!

Anchorage gets 90 /Fairbanks breaks 100 . Our summers are beautiful sunsets last forever and are the best
The weather in Fairbanks is crazy, especially during winter 🥶😂
Is early June warmer and a good time to visit ?
