- In this episode, we experience the storm of our lives!
We started our journey in Valdez and sailed all the way to Cordova, a town with no outside road access. We learn about the incredibly rich history of this small fishing town, dating back to the first settlers here- The Eyak People.
We also meet up with an amazing native artist named Sylvia Lange, who shared her unique story with us.

Thanks for watching the video SAILING ALASKA TRAVEL | Surviving the craziest storm & meeting an Alaskan Native Artist in Cordova!
Thanks for watching! Interested... What is your wildest weather experience? This was definitely ours...
Great footage of the boat at the dock during the squall. Weather is part of the package around here, and it helps build character, hahaha. Again, well done. You made it! I have too many stories of weather, alone, on the Gulf of Alaska or Prince William Sound. Anyway, thanks for making me uncomfortable and giving me far too much attention. Was, however, a delight to meet you, and look forward to seeing you somewhere on this planet again! Just celebrated my 70th BD, so the adventure continues into the unknown world of Elder! Onward! Sylvia
HAPPPPPPPYYYY BIRTHDAY! We are so glad to count you as a friend and definitely look forward to seeing you down the road somewhere. Wishing you a great trip downunder and an even better decade ahead! Cheers Sylvia.
Our wildest weather experience? Hurricane Katrina on our sailboat in the Everglades on the Little Shark River. 140 mph. No fun but we missed the eye by ten miles and fared better than those on land.
OMG! Can't even begin to imagine how terrifying that would have been. So sorry you had to go through that. Glad you are here to tell the tale.
Thanks for checking out our channel and fair winds!
Crazy storm.

I like finding out about SOME of your adventures after the fact - that wind was ridiculous. Glad Gimli saw you thru. 🎉

It was a wild one, for sure. We aim to keep this series going for a while. Really enjoying exploring at a slower pace than usual. Thanks for the support!

Cheers Sam! Yes, glad it wasn't the norm...
Beautiful video
Cheers 🙌
Amazing storytelling and art! I also loved to see Wild Life in your episodes! ...but how often are you in the storms like that?
Cheers! We glad you like it! We are trying to avoid storms all the time but for an example this Christmas we were stuck in 3 day storm! It wasn't fun. But then you appreciate sunny days like never before;)
@@theadventurelocker I can imaging! 😀
The thing is, here in Cordova, the mountains act like a wether funnel so what might be a small gust of wind is a strong breeze in town. The same is true with the rain, oh, dont get me started on the rain in cordova, it never ends. Anyway it might be rainy in town but could be sunny and nice out by the Copper River Delta
Yes! Exactly! We definitely experienced that 😂
Sailing Melody brought me here, subscribed 🙂

Did you just call steller sea lions seals?
Never! Maybe... Whoops! A least we didn't call them water puppies.
He did. "Giant seals"

Where is the storm footage? Click bait much? WTF ?
The name of the film is No Road In...and yes, that night (if you watched the episode) we were extremely lucky to come to Cordova in time because it was the biggest storm in our lives. Thanks for watching.
