  • Amazing rc cars racing, driven by skilful drivers … We visit MKRCCC and saw cars from several manufacturers battling it out on track. But how will Tamiya do with the M07 taking to the track in the 2WD class.
The Carten M210F is a great car and the driving feel reminds me us of our early years of racing with the M03 cars. This is so much fun!!!!

Definitely more videos like this 🙂 be interesting to see what difference going brushless will make, your speed down the back straight seemed good.

Stick with M-class. You said it's the most enjoyable and that's the entire purpose. Less serious and down to earth is always more fun.
I race GT12, but if there was an M-class club, or TT-01E truck racing club, I'd be racing those!

Stay with the M chassis because you're representing the best brand out there. Plus you're showing you don't have to spend big dollars to compete and have fun. M cars are more durable so that saves money in the long run also.

I don’t disagree, but let’s remain careful: upgrading a m-chassis can get stupid expensive quickly… just the set of Tamiya TRF shocks costs nearly $100…🤑

If you can hold down 2nd or 3rd in the M with a brushed motor, I'd stick with it and get every last drop you can out of it. If you're seriously hitting a performance wall after that, then jump platforms. I'd be curious to see what a brushless motor and gearing rework does to the M. See if there's any carbon upgrades you could throw at it maybe.

Nice one Carl, good to see the M07 out on track. Definitely put the CoreRC 21t in it and maybe gear it up a bit. Should be perfectly competitive against the other cars there. I'll try and get over with mine at some point too.

Great work Carl. I think you did well considering the chassis and motor you had. Your lines must have been good cause Icould see you catching a few cars in the corners. Honestly, if you stick with that car, get a brushless system in it. I don't know if that will help much, but it's worth a try. Maybe a larger pinion too. I'm really preaching to the quoir here.

I thought you did a great job qualifying second with an M07 brushed setup against brushless touring cars. You drove extremely well. In my humble opinion they all should've blown your doors off. I think you should consider putting a 21.5 system in your M07 and see how it goes and then switch to the other car if you feel your lacking. I guess another consideration would be to get the carbon conversion for the M07.

Im interested in getting into this class with a Carten or Xpress, I'm a beginner though so i dont know if its the best option for me.
Are they more fragile than your standard TT-01/2 beginner car?
There's not much cost difference in initial outlay once youve put a bearing kit and oil shocks on the tamiya chassis.
    Interested to hear your thoughts,
    Cheers

      Both great options
What does your local club run in terms of classes . MTC is a quicker class so it will take longer to get up to speed and be competitive, Tamiya is a great class for learning how to drive and the basics of race craft

My local club is Milton Keynes, I went on Sunday for the first time after seeing your videos.
You know it well I believe but they run Tamiyas mainly I think in the touring car classes, have MTC and GT12.
Sounds like you would suggest 1/10 first to learn with and then step up when I'm more competent.

If you’re keeping up with the fast guys using an inferior platform that’s vindication of your superior driving skills 👍🏽 (or their lack of them 😂)
I run a M07 based M platform (Yeah Racing conversion built for parts) there’s an aftermarket company called Factory Pro RC that makes an Overdrive 48P 33T spur gear for the M07 (P/N O-AP001) and they also have a 40T option that will open up some gearing options for you along with allowing you to run regular 48P pinions not sure on what gearing to start with we run 21.5T in M class
