Love that version of the diminished chord for this genre. Been trying to wrap my head and fingers around that shape for years. I paused and slowed that part till I got it and compared it to other diminished shapes I had been using. It helped that I was using my little 00 Gibson at the time. Sometimes things just fall into place. Thanks and best wishes!

Clinton ... I'm glad I came across your video ... your relaxed and intuitive way of teaching resonated with me. So a question. If i purchase the DVD or Digital version ... does it have more actual video that the 15 mins on youtube? If so, is it different arrangements of ragtime for the guitar. Many thanks getting me started

Always annoys me when I see guitarists placing their pinky on the soundboard. It serves no purpose and restricts the movement of your right hand.

Not true. It gives more precision. Guitar heroes like Mark Knopfler do this, he even places his ring finger on the soundboard, because he only uses three fingers when picking.

@@TheMicrofox It does in my a##se. Your hand hanging from the side of the guitar is all that is needed for leverage. It ables your hand to move to different positions on the body to achieve different sounds. It frees up an extra finger giving you three fingers to work with. Look at any classical or flamenco player. They are the experts on fingerstyle. Mark Knopfler admits himself that he is a guitar teachers worst nightmare. You see Merle Travis and Chet were basically plectrum guitarists who changed to their own ways to play fingerstyle. Those above mentioned are all brilliant I know, but I always impress upon new students not to follow this style, it is far, far too restrictive.
