Uploaded here just for the Varneyphiles out there.
In this episode, Virgil talks about his failed jump, the significant consequences of said jump and of teaching classes on how to patch up old lemons for resale.
This is not a full episode! It sadly cuts off at the end.

Actually, it's not ahead of its time, it's completely of its time. That's what makes it so great...😀 the 197os were unique. Post sexual revolution and pre-political correctness. Interesting era.

Hi everyone :) Wow thank you SO much for sharing this. For some reason, after so many years have gone by, Barth Gimble and Fernwood Tonight came into my mind tonight. I LOVED Fernwood Tonight and seeing this reminded me why. What a classic. I used to watch it with my big brother Bobby back in the day. We would LAUGH!! Oh my gosh how we’d laugh lol. He looked like Martin Mull and would imitate him Perfectly! Bobby passed away in 2011. I miss him so much and seeing this just brought back more than millions of wonderful memories. I can’t believe how this warmed my heart and reminded me how fun our carefree lives we’re back then. It just made me feel so good and brought happy tears. Thank you again, so much, for sharing.🥰🥲😊😄❤️

Was surprised to see Jim Varney there, in his early days. Reading his bio on Wikipedia, looks like he did a number of bit parts in the late 70's. Then in 1980 started doing his most popular character "Ernest" doing the "hey Vern!" commercials we all knew and loved.
Died in 2000 at age 50. Lung cancer. Chain smoker.

i still have a couple of martin mull albums. they were original and somewhat whimsical and full of satire.he was a good guitarist and had a solid band with him. the albums were some of the only ones i saved, i liked them that much when i gave away my collection of about 300. i saw him once playing at a bar in hudson, massachusetts around 1975.

Great, great show. RIP Martin Mull. The best villain ever as the wife beater Garth Gimble on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. His performance was disturbing. And then as Garth's narcissistic twin brother Barth on Fernwood 2Night in the summer when MHMH went on hiatus. I was supposed to go to bed at 10:00 p.m. but my mother let me stay up for one more half-hour to see MHMH/F2Night. She had already gone to bed. Well, I sneakily stayed up after MHMH/F2Night to then watch Johnny Carson's monologue. THEN I went to bed.
