Watching these old ABC bowling broadcasts is like walking into your childhood home, the aroma of moms cooking and hearing Schenkel and Burtons voices just brings all those years back. You can always relive all that through these vids. 👍👍
1:24:46 was a pretty accurate foreshadowing for Bob Handley, as he won the Greater Hartford Open only 5 weeks after this tournament happened.
Thank you for posting all these old ABC broadcasts. I enjoy rewatching them from my childhood! Have a great day!
it was an amazing title match
During the Tip of the Week segment, I strongly disagreed with the fact that Bo threw the ball down the extreme right side of the lane to convert the 6-10 spare. In other tips involving headpin down spares, Bo always emphasized the cardinal rule of shooting cross lane at spares. Now the main topic of this tip was the technique of using each of the five dots on the approach for two frames apiece during practice games. I think that would be okay to do during each strike shot, but for spares I think the proper spare techniques should be used at all times.
The second and title matches were exciting and very close
How exciting and close were they?
Jimmy pritts jr prevails when mike jasnau left the 1 2 8 on his first shot in the tenth frame to win the king Louie open
Thanks Captain obvious.
Ernie Schelgle was one of the best bowlers. Much better then Randy Pedersen.

Pete had a lot of wrist problems. He could hardly get that beer bottle up to his lips.
