It's bordering on insane that we're at a point where a driver less than $500 is seen as reasonable. But hey, that's just where we are. Thank you for this comprehensive review. Great stuff!!
Hey Gabe, I still have a Sim 2 Max D in my bag. I haven't found anything to replace it although I only tried the TM 10K and Ping 10K this year. I enjoyed both but didn't see any significant difference compared with my Sim 2. It's hard to justify spending so much money on a new driver for marginal gains.
I just bought a PXG 0811X. it has massive adjustment and sounds and feels better than any club I ever hit. I got the 2019 gen2 for £120 . Yes, one hundred and twenty quid. Best thing I ever did.
I just played my first course on Monday and boy am I hooked. This channel was the first one I found when I started out. Thanks for the awesome videos. Great work.
Fanatic drivers all-round! But Ping has always been my favorite though, growing up in AZ, I just loved that they're from there. Just never been able to afford them, only renting.
Going to test the Ping, Mizuno, Tour Edge, Wilson, and the Burner on Saturday. I’m a Ping guy but open minded and appreciate this latest review. Should have mentioned the shaft change out on the Kirkland. Mizuno shaft but which one?
The PIng won a lot of competitions this year. If I was in the market this would be one I would look at immediately for sure. Thanks for your honest opinions on these clubs. Whoever wins it and the other clubs will be getting a good set for sure.
I recently got fit for a driver and walked away with the Cobra Darkspeed LS + BTG Brava X-flex. Absolute bomber! Ping G430 10K Max will give it some stiff competition ;) Great video, awesome show! Thank you for the content
I love TaylorMade drivers…right now gaming a SIM2 Max 9 degrees. Tested the new Qi10 i gained 2 yards but not worth the price. So staying with my SIM2 for the year 😁
I saw a recent comparison with SIM2 Max vs QI10 Max on Ricks's HIT Channel. The SIM2 beat out the QI10 for him by 8 yards if I remember. I remember a few of the pros had a hard time taking the SIM drivers out of their bags.
man after a decade of not playing golf, it seems to really have exploded in popularity based on what comes across my way online and it has me wanting to play again. thanks for reeducating me!
Still playing my XR16 Callaway driver and some equally old Mizuno 850 JPX irons. Seems like time for an upgrade. Keep the videos coming, are getting better and better as time goes on.
Masterful presentation as always Sir. I am a struggling golfer that doesn't get much time to play (maybe one round per month) so i NEED every bit of help i can get. Thank you for all your hard work getting us this information
Love your enthusiasm. I got fitted at a major brand agnostic fitter and ended up in the QI10LS with an aftermarket shaft. Seems to work pretty good. Keep up the good work.
Just recently got fitted after a couple sessions, thought I was going to get the ping then hit the callaway ai and for me it was the most forgiving. Love it.
Totally agree with your assessment Gabe! I was fit for a new driver this year and it came down to QI10 or G430 10k. I landed on the G430 10k Max. Specifically because it felt a little better and the dispersion was hands down tighter.
I got the Cobra Aerojet LS with a Mitsubishi S-flex Shaft, but i have tried a Ping G430 Max last week and i am really suprised, because the tieder dispersion was amazing. Thank you for your great Videos all over the years and have a great season 2024.
Im a 6 Handicapper. i use a Titleist 915d2. its old. like real old. but I hit 260-290 consistently. it rarely misses. I changed my irons, I have PXG. but not sure what driver to try as the tech must have improved so much surely? also, even as a 6 HC, I can still have my off days!!
I play the black ops standard. Mist forgiving and long driver on the market right now. It is a 10000 moi also set standard. I’m my opinion. Great review Gabe
Awesome video, as always. I’d love to see how each driver you tested ranks in each category. Some of them, PXG, for instance, scored points in one of these categories, but I don’t have a good sense of how it stacks up in all the other categories because it fell outside of the top three. Keep up the great work!
Only one on the list I’ve actually hit is the Kirkland. Your review of the Tour Edge really has me interested in that. And I have heard so much praise for the Ping G425, G430 and G430 Max over the past couple years that Ping seems like a fantastic option for us mere mortals. Manufacturers need to chill on pricing though!!! 😂
Just bought the Tour edge E524. Pure beginner here, and saw the E is more for beginners and offers better forgiveness than maybe a C524 (according to tour edge) and waiting to see how I do at the range/field.
Honestly, Gabe should have way more subscribers than he does. Good quality content, can’t wait until the travel side of the business starts :) Wonder how Shipsticks would go delivering to Australia 😏😏
Went with cobra dark speed regular head after fitting for all the major drivers. My max drives go total 280 now a big bump from the 250 max with my last driver which was the Taylor made stealth driver. Biggest difference i see is that the dark speed driver is hot almost all across the face unlike my old stealth driver
Hey Gabe, good video. I don't know if you're aware but there are a lot of pretty bad pops in the audio and it can be really distracting with my headphones.
Thank you for reply. I wonder if you put a low torque, low spin shaft in the TSR3 to lower the spin and tighten dispersion as seems like all new releases have marginal gains on distance but better dispersion. Saw your latest video and was very informative and the TSR3 seems to still be ball speed king and if could lower that through shaft, that may be a unicorn for distance and dispersion. Glad your enjoying the Ping 10k and can’t wait for more content
I Have loved Ping for years. Very interested in getting fit for the 430max 10k. Love the Palmer hat you have on. I need to find myself one of those. My fav golfer of all time. Just no one like him both on and off the course.
Great choices. There are way too many good drivers this year and those that have carried over from last year. It is just like splitting hairs. My drivers I own stem from back in 2017 to a Taylormade M1 and a Callaway Epic Max. In Canada the snow just left 3 days ago, no courses open yet. Not sure I made the right choice with the new driver as I also wanted to try out a TSR2 and PXG Black OPS. but in Canada, those drivers are basically $880 all taxes pd. Ouchy. Great channel, love the content keep it coming.
I truly appreciate your honesty Gabe sadly like you said the technology is expensive. I would love to see you do a video on 3wood 2024 thanks for sharing great content 🍻
Very little if anything to disagree with Gabe. For us on a pension or lower salaries, the Tour Edge has it all. I watched you testing it and I could see that you was blown away with the performance and price.
I live the pings performance but the sounds have always been terrible. I’ll have to try out the new one. Been waiting on a new driver until I can swing them all. Still haven’t been able to find one I like better than my Rogue MaxLS. Haven’t tried the Ping or PXGs yet.
I went with smoke max gave me the best distance and spin for my swing speed but I’m going to Orlando a couple of in the very near future and just may give the PXG a serious test drive it sure looks great
So a future video (and where you can partner with someone) is what used, or new, but one or two model years old, give you 95+% of the latest greatest $550+ drivers and fairway woods.
I just picked up a Cobra Ltdx for $249 a month ago to go with my Cobra Ltdx 5 and 7 woods. Got a Taylormade Sim2 Max last year for $300, and a Srixon ZX5 at the end of summer last year for $189. No way would I buy a current year driver. Nice to see them all get tested by people like you so we have an idea which good deal we can get in a year or two. But think I am good on Drivers for awhile. That Tour Edge C524 3 wood you tested I got my eye on to get a 3 wood again maybe. Then I am done buying clubs, I’m done. I tell everybody that after not playing golf for years on a regular basis I should have never took it back up again two and a half years ago.
Ping 10K is the most forgiving and straight driver I've ever owned but it did require some significant adjustments with the back CG. It is not a plug and play driver like the TSr3 or Darkspeed X. But once it is dialed in, it is a force of nature.
Great video, but come on, fancy title with "aesthetics" spelled incorrectly. Btw, tried the Tour Edge Hot Launch - deceivingly long - seems to really roll out - impressed ⛳
Got the paradym last year but now I’m looking at the PXG after my wife got one. I hit it and wow. Fittings are $25 so even if I don’t buy one it’s worth that just to get a second opinion of what I should be playing
Did this show replace your March Madness series? Great over-all pick. Now, go get fitted for a pare of slim Tour pants! You’re looking younger and fitter!
I tested every driver out there for an upgrade from an extremely old driver I was given. The Ai smoke was perfection. I was able to get my hands on the TD max version, and I'm bombing off the tee..
I'm using a Cobra RadSpeed XB driver that I picked up for $200 shortly after the release of the Cobra LTDs. Unfortunately, I'm really struggling my driver swing right now, which is something that even the best driver can't fix.😞
Off topic, but do you have course recommendations in Jacksonville that won't break the bank? I'll be working there soon and have a weekend to kill some time. On topic: I'm enjoying the Smoke AI Max!
Do you have the golf now app? They always have hot deals. Especially if you book a few days in advance. I played the champions at Julington creek a few weeks ago. Besides a couple greens it was in great shape.
would love a PING G430 10K yes please lol currently have the Taylormade Stealth 2 HD 9 degree Driver with a UST Proforce V2 HL regular shaft and i love it I hit it nice and straight 9 times out of 10 also I have been eyeing the PXG Black Ops Driver especially with getting the first responder discount great video Gabe keep them comin cheers from Vulcan Canada
The one thing I hate about the newest drivers is the high pitch metallic sound. I love drivers that have a more muted sound that makes it feel like you got great compression of the ball. I'd love to find one that sounds like the older Titleist drivers and believe it or not the first Nike forged models that were excellent IMO.
Just swapped out my Titleist TSR3 for the PXG Black Ops. Why? First, the fitting experience. I believe that there is NO difference in manufacturers. There are differences in the arrays they offer, sure. But they (almost) all offer an array of drivers that are forgiving, low spin, draw biased, etc. Your choice But the fitting process for the PXG was fantastic. Now, please know, I never thought I'd go with PXG. I know, especially with their irons, they have played the expensive-is-better game, even though we know (or should) that they're not really any better than anyone else. Face it, folks. they all have access to the best technology, and they all have to build within USGA limits. I moved from the Titleist to the PXG because I wanted to retain less spin, while getting more forgiveness. I got that. I don't hit it farther, but I hit it at my max distance more consistently. But the main reason I moved to PXG is because I am relatively new to my locale and didn't have a fitter like I did before. PXG filled that requirement. So, why not move to PXG irons? Because I play single-length irons, and the best version out there is the Wishon EQ1-NX. I've played Wishon single-length irons for 8 years. If there was a better option, I'd consider it. (Yes, I'm looking at you, Avoda.) Back to the PXG: Yes, I got a great fitting. Yes, I upgraded to a premium shaft, but the fitter was utterly apologetic about it and didn't pressure me at all. Yes, I have the weights where I want them, but I might purchase a weight kit and tinker a bit. And, frankly, I haven't felt this confident over a driver since....the Callaway Steelhead with the (shorter) steel shaft. Gee, I wonder why? Speaking of which, I've been gaming progressive versions of the TM Mini Driver for many years, including the current BRNR. (The latest version is just a cosmetic change.) I was seriously tempted to go with that as my only driver (and it's also awesome off the deck) until I put the PXG in my bag. Now, I'm getting the consistent distance (instead of just the occasional potential distance) from the PXG that makes it a distinct choice from the Mini. So, both stay. BTW, I'm about a 5. I don't know since I haven't carried a handicap for 20 years. (I'm far too busy for that. But I used to be a 3 with far less knowledge of the game. I'm 64 for a couple more months.) But I have similar swing characteristics as our host--101-102 driver swing speed. Yes, faster than many of you, but not blazingly so. I hope you'll take my comments in that context.
It's bordering on insane that we're at a point where a driver less than $500 is seen as reasonable. But hey, that's just where we are. Thank you for this comprehensive review. Great stuff!!

Great video, Gqbe. Is there a significant difference in forgiveness in the G430 10K over last year’s G430 Max? I’m tempted……..🤔
I play the pxg 0311 gen 6 driver , really enjoying it, keep up the great video’s !
Love your enthusiasm. I got fitted at a major brand agnostic fitter and ended up in the QI10LS with an aftermarket shaft. Seems to work pretty good. Keep up the good work.
The Cobra LTDX currently on sale for $250 is best value for me.. distance, forgiveness, value and looks too!
Thanks Gabe looking forward to more travel videos , are you doing your annual driver shoot out this year ?
Just recently got fitted after a couple sessions, thought I was going to get the ping then hit the callaway ai and for me it was the most forgiving. Love it.

taylormade sim 2 max or tour edge hot launch c524?
Wanted to find out if you have been able to hit the Proxima shaft? Best new shaft out there.
Took the PXG Driver Challenge , couldn't believe the outcome, Black Ops is Impressive!!
15 handicap, cant decide between a Kirkland, tour edge or Mizuno ST-X 230 ( I can get for just about the same price)
I don't love the look of the PING drivers, so much that I never really tried them. I love my TSR3 9* with a Graphite Design AD UB 6X shaft.
I tested every driver out there for an upgrade from an extremely old driver I was given. The Ai smoke was perfection. I was able to get my hands on the TD max version, and I'm bombing off the tee..
I game the Mizuno ST Max it’s a incredible driver
What lift and shaft do you have? Just curious.
Still gaming the Rogue ST Max. Just dont see enough difference to upgrade for the prices.

I do appreciate a guy like Rick Shiels telling me he would take my driver (sim2) over taylormade new driver !
Awesome video 😊
Nicely presented Vid Gabe. You should replace the clowns who commentate on the US on golf tournaments.
