- Been very busy lately updating guesthouse #2 for your Sky Island Adventures with us, and so I've not been posting on RUclips as regularly. Sorry for that. Posting vids here is one of my favorite ways to showcase our adventures with insects down here in SE Arizona.
In this video, Aaron Chambers and I team up to go look for tiger beetles. We manage to find a few and I documented a few moments along the way.

Thanks for sharing. Great place!
Thank you for taking us on your fantastic Arizona bug adventures!
Literally and figuratively! Hope to see you down here for Sky Island Adventures one of these days!
Is the online shop down? I can't seem to get past the new homepage.
yes, but you can shoot me an email and I'll be able to take your order. The site should be back up soon. We're just working on implementing booking software for the the 2023 Sky Island Adventures season. Thanks Zhaki!
@@bugsincyberspace Thank you! I'm excited to see your new stock once the site gets back up!
Wilcox Playa seems to be a great place to visit! From turtles to Dasymutilla gloriosa to tiger beetles…and more!
We'll take you out there next time, Rus! It's a most inhospitable place in general but if you've hit up some of the more reliable locales in the past, want a little variety for variety's sake, and don't mind triple digit temps in the sun for a few hours with a high probability of finding very little of anything, you'll absolutely love it! 😉
Velvet ants in January, Beautiful!
Oh, this was back in July, sorry!
Nice day for a bug hunt if you ask me. I like the vid.
Thanks Toad!
When did u take this trip? I love your vids btw!
July, I believe.
Such a good area for catching bugs! I think that you can try digging in the soil 😉
We very nearly do each time we go there, if only to escape the heat! 😉
@@bugsincyberspace oh!
In my experience, tiger beetles (Cicindela sexguttata) are hard to catch!
what month was this in?
July 👍
there a way to make a net thorn proof?
Not that I know of. A cloth sweep net might reduce the amount of damage though.
Hey Peter sending over a email regarding my ghost mantis losing a leg.
