But you can begin to see if there is a demand for a product you would like to create, receive input from interested, potential customers (market), build interest, and then launch the product.

Keep in mind that, like most small businesses, you are not likely to get rich from running a vending machine business. But being your own boss and calling the shots are rewarding in themselves. And if you get enough locations going, vending machines can generate a steady income for you.

That's why I think half of this is bullshit !! I started a shopify online market on jewerly and went no where, no one sell !! .. and believe me I spent hours on building it trough Google Ad Work, it looked fantastic, I spent 12hrs a day adding items inside my shop, following what was being said everywhere else, I got ZERO client, I ended up losing money in the end but well .. it was an experience ah !!

@@topfitnessssss Jewelry vs Tea, tea wins by a long shot. That's almost like Bumper Stickers vs Gasoline. Tea is an everyday item. Health is more desired than fashion accessories, overall. Her tea is obviously effective and made with high-quality ingredients. Try doing market research before choosing your niche. Sounds like you jumped in without knowing if there was demand. She knew there was a demand after her friends began spreading the word. Also, try marketing on instagram first. Very convenient and one of the top platforms to market on. Either way, no bs, just different products with different demand and marketing strategies. Don't think your hard work was for nothing, I'm sure you learned TONS in the process that will save you tremendous amounts of time during the next project! Try again! Best of luck!

the big take away is that she was early on in instagram. Early adopters of new technology usually become very rich. timing is very important.
Agreed, timing is helpful. However, people still grow huge followings everyday using similar tactics! You have to be consistent.
No , bro. Timing is just one factor to shorten way. The real key is that she picked the right product for selling. That's consumer goods with own made. If chose wrong product , timing can not help. Good timing is the most important only for stock investors.

Uber and airbnb would not have worked if we weren't in a recession. Netflix wouldn't have been such a big success without broadband connections being normalized.
Now, sure if you want to start a pizza shop or a watch company, maybe timing doesn't matter. But that's also small.
If you want to solve a problem many people have then timing is important.
My company sold for $750 million. It wouldn't have happened if we didn't have great timing. Sure we had product-market fit early but timing was very important. If we did it 2 years earlier, it would have failed.
I think it's rare to be able to create a huge engaged following. I think she was early on the instagram train and was able to capture a following while instagram was growing.
That was what led to her success.
I could talk more about timing, if you'd like. My company was acquired for $750 million. Timing mattered more than the product.

Nice story, she figured it out along the way and back when Instagram was not saturated. She went in at the right time with the right product and followed the leads and her sales soared. The reason why it's "a story" is because it's uncommon. Good for her.

IM impressed. As a older than 50 but under 60. Im truly inspired. GREAT STUFF!!!
She clearly had a head start. And family support. She had her 1st ever job at 22...fml most of us are at a disadvantage here. Most of us had to start working at 16-18 to help our family and put school aside or delay it. Clearly she didn't have to do that and also finished her degree at 21 which is ridiculous for us and our low income families. specially here in CA where rent is crazy is expensive. Clearly she had people help her with hundreds of thousands of dollars on start up.
True. A lot of that is engrained in those of us that come from lower income families. My parents expected me to get a job if I wanted the shoes and clothes that the other kids had, and if I wanted spending money. I had my first job at 14 years old. It was miserable, and I almost feel like my dad got enjoyment out of seeing me miserable just like he was. I was getting a taste of "real life" as he would probably put it. I went back to university in my mid 20s and finished my bachelors degree by the time I got married... a lot of that had to do with my wife who was raised differently. Hard work was instilled in her and her siblings, but they were taught to put that energy to work where it actually paid off for them many times over later on. Not to grind at some bullshit job for years and years just scraping by. Thank God I turned myself around. I dont know where I'd be today.

I’m literally in the exact same stage she was at when she started. I’m 23 and I’ve been working for 1.5 years now that I’m out of college and working for someone else/corporate life isn’t for me.
