Hey Jimmy! Great to hear these words of wisdom again. What was true during my training with you 8 years ago still holds true. My main take away is that the voice is the most important tool in a teachers toolbox and that the voice must be dynamic and organic. Sprouting and developing from the seeds of compassion. Always centered on the class in the moment.
Thank you, Jimmy! I still remember your words during teacher training to help me project and find my voice! I am grateful for you and your trainings which have given me such a solid foundation for teaching yoga. Namaste.
I teach my yoga therapy clients virtually, and have really had to tap into my different teacher voices because we are not face to face. This is a very underrated part of yoga teaching!!
This takes me back to teacher training w/ you.I so very much appreciate your gift of helping teachers develop their unique and powerful voice! - Rachelle

Hello! Thank you for this video and the tips. I teach a Bikram style class, and also yin and restorative yoga. I love your video (which I purchased on Amazon. I do it once a week. 👍🏻). I’ve been told my voice is very soothing and calming. Perfect for yin/restorative classes, but I do try to have a stronger voice during hot yoga to encourage my students during classes. This video definitely explains a lot to me. I will remember your tips at my next class. Thank you again!
Hi Julie...Thank you so much for sharing...There was no one more conversational then Bikram...Make sure next time you teach Tip #5 to remind yourself !! See you next time!
I have been enjoying practicing varying my tone - 2/3 of my classes are in the middle of a busy gym, and it's hard to speak calmly while trying to talk above treadmills. It's nice hearing that you don't have to be quiet to be calming.
Thanks a lot for your tips, I am just a little bit confused about the difference between the explanation voice versus the conversational voice - or is it just the content that is different?
They are very similar.... explanation voice explains more of the mechanics/instructions of the pose. Conversation voice is when it becomes personal...like... when I do this it really helps me, try it and see if it works for you... 🙏🧘♀️🙏 see you next week!!
This is "Yoga": wonderful and "relaxing" voice....your Points probably lead your students to the realization of how that magical "teacher/ student" chemistry is achieved.
Love this Jimmy! Great to listen to your guidance. 🙏🏻

Thanks for encouraging athenticism! It’s heard to do in a lot of group settings, but so important and intimate, which makes it more engaging.❤️

Busy gym will be challenging for sure....you can still change it up frequently w a more projected voice ! Nice to hear from you Lizzy!
My absolute favorite type of yoga is hot yoga. Unfortunately, they closed before quarantine in our area. Looking forward to doing this again someday.
Thanks for your comment...there are ways to do it at home..space heater...Hot Yoga Dome (expensive but awesome)....
