Been waiting for a chance to ask this, but where did the talent go specifically? Titles would be great to know
@@encompassthyeclipse7278they grew up
@@YourShow124 superfluous information really, what titles are they working on
@@encompassthyeclipse7278 they hire based on art station likes and social media. social media killed gaming in a nutshell
@@encompassthyeclipse7278 That impossible question to answer unless you violate several privacy laws. However it is a fact that it is not the same people working on the game. Just compare the credits and see.
The reason why they are no longer there can be multiple. Maybe they have retired. Maybe they passed away. Maybe they work on something else. Maybe they make their own games. Maybe the work in a different industry. Maybe they are an exec. You can still be involved without being an active dev.
There is however a thing to consider. If you look at Saints Row 2022, you actually had a few people from the older games. The issue is that the devs had changed. They had, what the kids call it, gone boomber. They no longer liked the games they made in the past. They no longer liked the crude jokes and dark humor. The very thing that made the game successful in the first place. So if you ask them to make a new Saints Row, their heart will not be in it. They have "troll's remorse". Instead they want to make a "safe" version of the game. Something that doesn't offen people or criticize something like the government. But if the game is all about offending people and criticize the government. You can't make it "safe".
So it is true that it is no longer the same people working on the games. Meaning they do not have the charge vision. But it is also true that the same people may also not have the same vision as themselves from the past.
1:25 One thing I genuinely *despise* on the 2042 C4 are the stupid quips when you detonate the explosives.
Battlefield 3, 4, Hardline and 1 were peak.
Bruh, Bad Company 2 was the peak. Vietnam DLC was masterful. 3 was just as good, 4 you could see the changes happening and Hardline was the beginning of the end. thats when it all changed.
Bad Company 2 did such a flex with all the destructible buildings, in freakin 2010!! All networked and stuff. Impressive.
fr, probably one of my favorite parts of it, the sfx of the buildings falling was insane too
Bullet balistics too.
Technically that level of destruction was first done in 2008 with BC1, that game gets slept on so fucking hard. It had 90% of the core gameplay/destruction/visual quality of BC2 but with even BETTER audio quality in my opinion (best audio in the entire series is BC1 War Tapes followed by BC2). So yeah even earlier than 2010, 16 years ago and now they can't seem to do it anymore. I hate this reality.
@@SonOfSal94 Don't forget the best singleplayer campaign in the series.
Oh I think that was me climbing up the side of the building with team mates in hovercrafts. We did exactly that on that map with 2 vehicles a while ago.
Also the Destruction in BF1 looks amazing.
I played BF3, 4, 1, V and BC2 for thousands of hours. 2042?
12 minutes. What a complete mess. Doesnt feel like a battlefield. It feels like a hybrid between a F2P hero shooter and COD infinite warfare. It fucking sucks.
12 minutes? So you basically don't have any idea of what the game's like then huh?

bad company 2 was the pinnacle of battlefield for me. Had over a thousand hours in that game
0:08 bro you just unlocked one of my core memory bro, i was looking for the name of this game for soooo long thx so much
whats boggles my mind is the fact that these games like call of duty, battle field, etc. all have a layout of things that have to be in the game in order for it to be that title. ALL they have to do is make a layout and make that game over and over just differently with better graphics. in a way this is what call of duty is doing now but in such a cheaper crappier way, its pathetic. whatever mindset they had when making the games in 2010 is the same mindset we need now. it doesnt make sense they cant make a good call of duty or battlefield other than greed
It was passion for games and creativity- that of which almost all dev teams lack now
@@operation_ghst3145the executives want money not passion and they are shooting themselves in the foot. Make good games get lots of money, such a simple formula but they are too stupid to realise it.
I blame private equity buying up dev studios.
so are you telling me that gameplay matters and not inclusivity!??!?!?!?! WHAAAAT
At least in COD's case, the people that made the creative decisions for their games up until around Black Ops II aren't around anymore. There was a whole internal conflict around the development of MW3 because the two top creatives responsible for the MW series were suing the company because they weren't getting paid (or something along those lines). And I reckon some of Treyarch's employees from those days have moved on aswell.
I think the Levolution introduced to the building at point C in Shanghai and Rogue in BF4 are better than 2042.
I was also surprised when I use the tank in 2042 that I couldn't destroy the small wall with the tank.
Levolution was peak even if it ruined the gameplay. Newer BF still have the feelings of chaos but not to the level of BF3-4-1. Sadly

The thing that’s most disappointing about these things is that they don’t even bother using the previous stuff. I’m sure they have the code inside and could read and tweak them to achieve at least something similar. We’re at a point where devs don’t even bother copying someone else’s homework to keep the franchises from regressing. The bar is very low.
It sure is a sign of their incompetence with current state of things
battlefield has always had a problem with reinventing the wheel too much. just take what you did with your last game and make it better ffs. if you start from scratch everytime and EA wants you to make a game in 8 months, the games gonna fucking suck.

Man, I miss Battlefield Bad Company 2. Now that was a good game.
and worth the money. I paid 40€ on release and you got more weapons and maps than on the 70€ BF 2042. If you count the addon (dlc doesn´t really fit) it totally blows 2042 out of the water.

In an attempt to attract the CoD fanbase, they abandoned the classic Battlefield formula, but instead of gaining new players, they only managed to frustrate loyal fans who appreciated Battlefield for its unique identity.
Yep. They had rootbeer and tried to make it cola. Was no reason both couldn't exist side by side. Back in their golden era I played both regularly.

BF4 and BF1 were not as good as BF3, but they still deserve their place at the Hall of Fame, great games
128 players is the problem. It's a great flex and marketing tool, but the bigger you go the lower the performance is going to be. It turns into a nightmare balancing maps, weapons, vehicles. The server quality issues are never going to end, seeding becomes a huge issue, and overal the gameplay suffers. And for what, really? The games are so big that nearly half of the map is never going to be touched by you nor will it affect your gameplay at all in nearly every game. Remember planetside from years ago? Hundreds of players seems like a good idea, but the gameplay was absolute shit, servers sucked and not a bit of it felt any good. Let's max out at 80 and do smaller maps, focus on the gameplay first.
