My son is named Wyatt Croft. They are descendants of the Crofts. But I named him after Wyatt Earp. Didn’t know about this story until my son sent it to me. We are in Virginia USA.
I think it is fantastic that the Croft family are back in the castle to some degree with the apartments which am sure are quite large. Love the Church and it is a very lovely castle. It is terrible how so many lost their castles over the years with the wars etc. The ancestors worked very hard to build and restore and protect, only to have them lost over the years. Thank God for the Trusts and those who have bene able to at least allow for tours etc to keep money flowing and the public enjoying it all so much!
I agree and it is such a shame so many British castles were slighted after the civil war. I find the stories behind these historic sites fascinating and they go back so far. Yes if it wasn't for the trust's work preserving and restoring them most would have completely vanished which would be tragic.

And after the battle of Mortimer Cross one of Owen Glendower's daughters married into the Croft family, so they're descended from all the ancestors of Welsh royalty, from North of the Antoine wall to Cornwall!

I am also from the States and in exact the same situation, So thankful for this opportunity and for those who are willing to bring all of this information and vlogs to us. . My husband is even related in history to royal family the Tudors and the Plantagenets and yet we ourselves now can never be part in any way with the move that took place so very long ago. The Royals married in with other countries and their Royals and so in the long run my husband has Scottish blood as well joined in,
interesting one and it does look very authentic saying its had so many rebounds, well presented as well👍

It is wonderful to explore, so very grand, the history of the site goes back to the 11th century but the castle that we explore today is from the 17th century.
