I purchased a piranha tooth bar for my JD 5203 with a 516 loader and 6 ft bucket. I used a step bit to drill the holes an it was quite easy. took about 20 minutes to install. I like the tooth bar it does a real good job clearing brush and small trees and vines etc. also improves picking up dirt, gravel and other materials.
Obviously not as good as a straight edge. But much better than a traditional toothbar. It's nice to be able to do some quickie grading with the toothbar on.
I was very impressed on how this thing works I do a little brushhogging AN my last job had some small brush trees AN my bucket just pushed them over. I think I will get a hold of the maker AN see what they cost
If it was mad with spring steel the weld would ruin the spring tension😂 I'm sure on the cheap home owner buckets there just a higher carbo steel I know for actual buckets they'll use AR plate same with dump trucks or 1 tons though
That's why they recommend the step drill . I went through the same thing. I found out the hard way after spraining my wrist an old timer that worked in the train yards told me what the steel was. the steel is made to flex upon taking a load .they use a different type of weld on spring steel that is designed to flex and well.
The website asks for the actual bucket width to the nearest 1/4". Round up or down it doesn't matter just what's closest. They undersize it a bit to ensure it will fit.
@@SkylarHillShop wrong. If you measure your bucket and then go to the nearest 1/4 over then it will be too big. The website and the gentleman that I spoke to at the expanded says measure the bucket exact and then round down. For instance my bucket measured exactly 48 3/8. I ordered a 48 inch bar. It fit perfect. If I would have ordered a 48 1/4 inch bar it would not have fit.
Brian Medeiros working on getting a follow-up video put together. I have loved it so far. Definitely helps me get every little bit of power out of this small tractor.
I LOVE IT!!!!! I've been meaning to do a follow up video but haven't got around to it. I actually bought another one for my skid steer. The first 1:30 of this video shows just how much its capable of. ruclips.net/video/Wdc7n8hMgd4/видео.html

It's a great addition to any loader bucket!
A lil bit of cutting fluid, or anything with lubricity will make it so much easier and the bits will last much longer. Nice
I like the Piranha Toothbar. The only thing is what effect does it have when back dragging?

If I remember correctly $300-$400.
FedEx just delivered mine for my Mahindra 1626. I’m excited!
I bought an older skidsteer after I made this video. One of the first things I did was add this toothbar to it too!
Put one on yesterday, actually dug a drainage trench & a ditch for a 6" PVC in rocky soil. Only needed to go down a foot or so.
One of my favorite additions to my skid steer!
It would be neat to add a bar at the bottom like a cycle bar cutter ran on hydraulics
I wonder if they gave a discount if I bought the blade an a stump bucket for a massey ferguson
Doesn't hurt to ask!
The bucket is made with spring steel. If you use a bigger bit it would bit and break your wrist.

I would like to get one for my Kubota m7060
You won't regret it. It's amazing how more effective it makes your loader
You round down to the nearest 1/4”. Rounding up would make the bar too long. 4:51

I just ordered one for my deere 420
How’d it work for you?

How thick is the toothbar / connection end plates?
I believe the entire thing is constructed from 3/8 plate.
@@SkylarHillShop Pretty sure the bar is 1/2" and the tabs are 3/8". I am currently installing one myself.
@@ForestToFarm You are correct, I went out and measured mine. The cutting edge itself is 1/2" and the end plates are 3/8"
@@SkylarHillShop Can I ask how do you like it?
