Wow. Excellent video, Terry! Thanks for the help. I ordered my bar the day I bought the tractor, so my bucket was in excellent shape. Still, I couldn't have done it right without your help. Well done, sir.
Excellent job. Just installed my piranha bar. They now send a drill bit to make 3/4 hole. My issue was the 15/16 sockets. Eventually found them. Satisfying project. Fits perfectly in Kobuta bucket. Thanks again.
I echo many of the comments below. Your video was absolutely awesome. I watched it and immediately went and installed my new BXExpanded Piranha Bar. It installed exactly and as easily as you showed in your video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I've got a John Deere 1025R. As you know it kinda sucks at digging, even though you can generally get the job done, it's just frustrating, slow, and inefficient. We've been considering cutting bars but after stumbling onto this and a few other videos, I'm not able to make up my mind! It seems like with the piranha bar I'll be able to... ...keep the outside (bottom) and inside bottom of the bucket smoother, thus allowing the bucket to fill and dumping easier. If I had a cutting teeth, they would potentially catch dirt and debris both on the way in and back out. ...back drag better with this tool installed, compared to having full blown ripping teeth. I might have to remove the ripping teeth to back drag smooth? ....cut cleanly though dirt, trees, and shrubs? Cutting teeth would only really help with breaking up soil, removing stumps and roots. ...get under sod (possibly reuse it???) , while still being able to rip the ground somewhat. Teeth would prevent this all together. Our soil is rocky and hard, where it's not been worked...so very hard to dig, even with my tractor at 2,838 lbs (I added 768 lbs, 218 lbs liquid in the tires + 550 lbs ballast box full of bricks) ...up from 2,070 lbs stock with 120R FEL installed. I'm toiling here - do I get this or the heavy hitch bolt on tooth bar (link below)? heavyhitch.com/product/bucket-tooth-bar-clamp-on-sub-compact-tractor/?attribute_pa_color=john-deere-green&attribute_length=53%22
I have to be honest, I have no experience with bolt on's like the heavy hitch but from our experience with skid steer use of similar buckets and considering all you want to do I would guess the Piranha would be the way to go. Good luck!! Terry
Stickers are more trouble than they are worth. Place it. Tap with center punch. Drill. Perfect. Don't need holes that big either. I think mine came with 5/8 bolts so I stopped at that point. Bolt is exactly same size as the hole. Doesn't move. Nice video, thanks.
Thanks! Yeah we were actually going by the instructions. I am with you but the manufacturer likely leaves a little play for those less than experienced DIY people. Heck a lot of experienced people would have trouble with this. :) Terry
Left my bar on, drilled a 1/8" pilot from the inside as far back as I could allowing for the bolt diameter, driller the step bit from the outside - done. No stickers. C-clamps are essential.
I agree. We just did it the way the manufacturer specified to show how its recommended to be done. Pretty simple process but there are a lot of people who do not have extensive skills in mechanical things. Terry
Very good video, right to the point and not too much talking. Good job. If you like that Milwaukee drill, get yourself a Milwaukee 1/2 " impact driver and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. They make great tools.
I have a full size jcb backhoe and will order a bar next summer before digging my ponds. I like the concept that it's removable. I wonder about its life span?
Love those JCB tractors/equipment. The Piranha Tooth Bar is awesome. I think it will hold up a good long time and it will save the buck edge adding life there as well. Terry

@@ForestToFarm Just as your reply came in, I was hitting "Submit" on the BXpanded site for the Tooth Bar, the Bucket Hooks and the under tractor Armor.
