That was a great performance! Don Brewer on drums singing! When he went to the rise during the solo sections just the precision and his fills, so good. They would get into a grove and just stay in it forever on some of those older songs. I saw them 3 times back in the day at The Forum. The first time the opening act was Black Sabbath. I was maybe one or two years too young because I missed seeing Jimi Hendrix during the late 60's.

Not sure if you noticed at the end of the song the stage hand guy bringing out the double snare drums and setting them up. Those are for the lead singer Mark Farner. You have heard him as lead vocalist, seen him play lead guitar, you know he wrote nearly all their songs, he played keyboards on many songs which you have not seen yet, you have seen him play the harmonica...now you can see him play drums on Black Brass. ruclips.net/video/nE8QqLi0t0Q/видео.html...absolutely amazing!
This is Mark on keyboards on Foot Stompin Music ruclips.net/video/kUqS4O9nxv0/видео.html ....he plays lead guitar, lead vocals, he wrote it and plays the organ and all at a very high level...amazing talent!

Hey Guys who are the guys in the drawing with the drawing of earth behind them? It looks like Rare Earth but I guess I don't get the corelation? I know both these groups and played with Ray Monette, THE late great Bob Babbitt from Rare Earth as well as with "MY GUY" Mel Schacher. Why didn't I make it big with a few of my friends??? Not sure. Timing and the amount of talent in Detroit in the 60s and 70s would boggle your mind. I think the only reason Grand Funk isn't remembered or known well enough is that they were night and day from LIVE to their Albums. YOU COULD NOT TOUCH these guys live. It didn't carry over on albums but they were great and deserve to he in the HOF!!! IF WEEZER or RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE are in the HOF, then the HOF Has ruined the HOF, as we once knew it.
