  • Tommy Emmanuel called me out of the crowd to play a song for his audience at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.
    Special thanks to Frano Živković for letting me borrow his guitar!
    Thanks also to Dennis Van Der Sanden for filming (apologies for the low resolution)

    You put so much definition in to all the right notes man. Such emotive playing. It really lifts and carries your attention in such a perfect manner!
    Leading to hair raising moments and shivers then lulling in to a familiar percussive section. Duuuuude! Just phenomenal emotive playing and song writing skills! 👏🙌👏
    Oh and also to have Mr Emmanuel himself vining out to it! Class!!

    Shane this song is beautiful man! 💪😎 the change of chords in some of the main themes near the end are really intelligent man!! I’m gradually discovering more of your stuff, you are great! Montmartre is really cool as well! Where can I learn this song? I want to have that Moroccan playing in my repertoire as well

      It used to be! It now belongs to Frano Zivkovic

      That's amazing, always wanted to hold one of those. How would you describe the action, relief, and playability? (compared yo your own), or did you set it up yourself?

    • @ShaneHennessyMusic
      @ShaneHennessyMusic  6 лет назад +1

      Tommy called on me out of nowhere, and I picked up the first guitar I saw there (with permission from Frano who was in the crowd). Setup is very, very low - a lot lower than mine is. I actually found it a little hard to play because of how low it was. I dig in a lot on my guitar but I couldn't do the same on this guitar. No relief at all.

      Shane Hennessy Very Nice! Yeah I’ve always Noticed you pull/pluck the strings, rather than strumming/brushing. Heard the g string buzzing on this recording a little bit(which doesn’t bother me at all though), which made me wonder about the setup! Thanks for the reply and for the amazing performance (though not warmed up I guess)
