An 80's Goth-kyd like myself, I would never trade those memories for anything. Now, it's kind of weird to see Goth music everywhere and to communicate with students as a university instructor. Usually, I lecture in an auditorium, where I outfitted it with good speakers and play my music while nobody's around. However, one day a student left the door open and I played Clan of Xymox. A small group of students walked by and wanted to know "What music are you playing?" Now, I just leave the door open at lunch, where "New Goth's" gather to eat and talk.
So now, I kind of feel like a father-bat, clinging to the ceiling with my "pups" in a colony. They think it's "way kewl" for me to stay true to my Goth heritage - albeit' s more professional, but I still wear tons of silver jewelry and since I'm Native American, I kept my long hair, where a perfect white spot on the front started to grow naturally. Yeah, it's sort of Sweeney Todd looking.

cool story; i'm as far removed from the goth culture (if that's the right description) as you can imagine but i'll tell you something, this CoX band is just something else. in my playlist of greatest songs i only typically have one or two songs from each band or singer, but for this band and Depeche Mode i have made exceptions and have numerous of their songs in it. the Hante remix of this song is just stupendous also.

BTW there are tons of people who enjoy "Goth music" and have never wore a single black stitch of clothing, ever, so your not alone. Depeche Mode was forbidden to we Goth's, since it was grounds to take away your Goth-card, just because they were more mainstream. However, every Goth had at least one album or two of theirs laying around somewhere. Now, I don't care what other people like or dislike of mine. Nobody is taking away my Goth-ness for any reason.
But, I'm glad to hear you enjoy CoX as much as I do.

I’ll be a teacher in the future so thanks.., people like u are my idols. Just staying true to myself is a good thing! I’m 22 and discovering all these bands and music, scene is the best thing that’s happened in my life. Last week i saw clan of xymox and it was such a magical experience that i still think about all the time after 4 days.
@@vamnoone Concerts are a magical experiences, in my opinion; but, by far the best one was when my best friend and I pretended to be a 'gay couple' and we were invited to go to an afterparty for Christian Death. Nevertheless, we had just graduated from high school, but we both looked like we were 14 years old and we decided to drive to Los Angeles to see our favorite band. We both became close friends with Roz Williams after that event, but I do hope you get to see as many of the new bands in concert as well.
I'd love to go to see Drab Majesty in concert, because their newest album is simply fantastic.

@@burnedoutregretfulsoul4324 I'm not a fan of the video personally, not because of the lesbian themes but because of flawed actions after they escaped the attack. It could've been a straight or gay couple and I'd still find this frustrating. The first thing a person would do if they've left their phone anywhere is to get the phone locked so no one can gain access to the info, even if it means using someone else's phone to do it. Because in this instance, it resulted in their death, because the phone had a tracker on it. It was able to track the car, which is how the man found them.

Maybe I shouldn't watch a couple of lesbians dying by a homophobe's or misogynist's gun on the anniversary of the day I got disowned when I was outed to my parents and forced to choose between deprogramming/reparative therapy and disownment. (I chose the latter. Took me all of half a second. I'm not stupid). It's been decades, and still, inexplicably, it hurts... On the other hand, great music. Clan of Xymox never fails to deliver. So far, the only album COX has released that did absolutely nothing for me was the _Headclouds_ album in 1996, which was kind of a transitional album anyway.
