the word "cycle" isn't the issue, the issue is the numbering. saying cycle 1.2 makes it sound like its some minor patches here and there while saying cycle 2 or cycle 3 sounds like its some major updates.
This is the true problem. I have many arpg friends that I invited to play LE and they picked up on Cycle immediately. The issue is x.xx seems like a patch. Literally always. That’s the patch structure every game uses including non arpg. That’s the confusing part.
07:00 This is not true, though. 1.2 is not what the Cycle will be called per se. It's the patch number, simple as that. 1.1 is not the name of the Cycle we're in atm. We are playing the Harbingers of Ruin Cycle, patch 1.1.x. This is the same for literally EVERY other seasonal games in the genre.... I really don't know why this is only a "problem" in Last Epoch.
Been following streama from the first pne, nah its not about that, before there were always spoilers, since 1.1 there has been almost 3 months and no spoilers or relevant informations what so ever thats what i have meant
I love seeing the "dead game" and "game sux" trolls trying their best to push that agenda (like on the comments after the last EHG post). Meanwhile i was playing today and there were several new players and returning players. Dead game lol.
I'm saying it again myself , put in another 30 hours in the past week haha. I love putting together builds in this game, offers much more in that aspect than some others
It’s not a “dead game” but the developers are fumbling hard. They have the bones of a phenomenal game but release content at a glacial place. When you consider the other arpgs on the mark and those coming out soon, particularly PoE2. This is anecdotal, but a few days ago grim dawn had more concurrent players than LE.
@@ironcenturion31 now this is absolutely agree with. Nothing at against the devs themselves when I say this. Because they seem awesome , and are probably super nice people. But man, they put out content slow as a turtle. With the competition out here just pumping new stuff out constantly, it's really really hurting them. It's going soooooo damn much potential is what really blows.
@@ironcenturion31PoE2 isn't coming out anytime soon. Early access with an indeterminate number of classes, an indeterminate number of ascendancies, and an indeterminate amount of endgame systems is *apparently* coming out in November.
As the cycle confusion goes I thing cycle vs season is not the problem. My mind was just ignoring the 1 before cycle number and I was even telling friend cycle 2 starts lets go play together Ok way to solve this would be that we had cycle 1.0 at the start, 1.1 now but from now on it could be cycle 2 (reset) with patch 1.2 (retroactively maybe naming past cycles cycle 0, and cycle 1 or keep it as it was cycle 1.0 and 1.1) and for future be it cycle 3 with patch 1.3 and so on ... So id you don't care about patches it doesn't matter and you have season/cycle X and if you care about patches for each cycle it is patch with 1.X for corresponding cycle

Most people would say new content is coming out for this game. Patch 1.2, cycle, season, update, content who cares. If you don't know something youtube it, that's what people are this youtuber are for and are happy to help.
EHG has lost me ages ago due to this naming convention. Absolutely mind boggling how EHG can develop a great game and then have a marketing strategy that undermines their game. Note that it is easier to lose players than to get new/returning players back. Once a player misses a Cycle over this confusion there is a non-zero chance of losing that player to other ARPGs on the market. Especially with POE 2 and other ARPGs on the horizon.
Am I the only one that things it’s a bit asinine to stick to the 1.? Moniker attached to the cycles? If this is cycle four then just call it that or season 4. The patch can still be what ever number it is.
Something told me it was going to be endgame stuff lol So this past week i started cranking new chars and builds through the campaign to be ready 😁 Im ready to blast! And another thing i want to mention that LE does so well with. Is stash tabs! Big ol blizzard, a multimillion company that cant give more than a few stash tabs. But little ol LE developers give you crazy ammounts of stash tabs , and crazy customization options lol Great job EHG!
Just name it season and match it so patch number and season number are the same. Patch 3 for season 3. Patch 4 for season 4. All that "but we need a patch 1.2" stuff is just pointless waffle. It's fine if patches have some internal name as well, doesn't mean a thing, but for god's sake, clean up the public names! And am I happy? Not really. Still no offline cosmetics and I don't want to play online. I like playing offline.
The answers to question #2 are something we will continue to look at (alongside discussions across our platforms) to determine how we can focus on improving the Legacy Migration experience in the future. One of the big things here we want to dive more into is why players feel their characters become irrelevant when transferring characters to Legacy, and what we can do to alleviate that feeling. With the decisive result of over 75% responses in favor of continuing with a Cycle Refresh, we will continue with our original plan of having the event kick off with a refreshed Cycle. This means that when The Imperial Uprising begins on September 19th, existing Cycle characters will be migrated to Legacy, and there will be a fresh Cycle, starting with new Leaderboards and a clean economy. The event bonuses will also allow you to progress through the Cycle much faster during the event for those starting in the Cycle, or achieve the long-term goals of your character if continuing on Legacy. We once more want to re-confirm that aside from the Leaderboard; there is no content difference between Legacy and Cycle. Legacy and Cycle have access to all the same mechanics, encounters, systems, and events. (eg. The newly introduced Nemesis encounters and Harbinger system are fully available in Legacy, as well as the upcoming Imperial Uprising Event modifiers and other additions coming with the event).
Last patch was in July and the next patch will be in Q1 2025 meaning March realistically or they would have said "beginning 2025" instead of "Q1 2025". That means EIGHT MONTHS between the two cycles. I don't even care about what they will add, the game has close to 0 players and there is not enough content to play till October, let alone till March. They lost 99%, literally 99%, of the player base. No idea what one could do with this amount of content for the next 6 months. Furthermore, they're not keeping their word anymore. Once the trust is gone, is gone forever and the inability to simply admit and point out the failure is quite pathetic.
All you said is true, but then there's the thing where you just play a different game and wait for the other game you're disappointed with to improve :D I highly recommend it instead of throwing a tantrum about "trust" like it's your father leaving you as a kid and then coming back and saying "aight sorry bro" after you turn 30. It is a video game, a live service one at that. It can get better in the future. Just like Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Diablo 4, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, and more. Also don't nolife games (especially one game) and the lack of content problem won't exist. Just my advice.

honestly the patch number cycle thing sounds like someone with ocd number issues and cant let it go.
