Yes, a Godin electric guitar is finally in the house!! 🎸
Have you guys ever played on Godin guitar? If you have, let me know what you thought!
Enjoy :)
The lead guitarist in my band had one. One of the best playing experiences I've ever had.
Own a LGX since 2000. Great guitar !
I have a Godin Session Plus, very nice guitar, great tones and very well made.
My main axe has been a Godin Artisan ST-1 since ~1993
I also have a late 90's ST-IV and a Shifter 5 string bass.
BTW it's Go-dan, not Go-din
I own 3 of them. Core, Session, and 5th Ave Kingpin. Godin makes fantastic guitars.
As a Canadian, I am biased to Godin. They are innovative and classical at the same time. 5th Avenue and xtsa are the two opposite end of the spectrum, but they nail it.
@@benallmark9671 Godin Guitars is family owned and currently headed by Robert Godin’s sons. Are you sure about this? Neither Ibanez nor Godin websites mention any relationship.
@@benallmark9671 cool beans. I did some heavy google searching since that scared me. Godin says they’re 100% family owned in their website.
@@benallmark9671 No.... Simon and Patrick Godin run the company now.
I am french, but Godin is amazing to me too 😉
I like that they didn’t try to hide the fact that there’s two pieces of wood. Looks cool
Finally! A Godin on one of my favorite channels! What a beautiful guitar! Makes me (a little) proud to be Canadian! Thanks Darrell!
I almost bought a Godin guitar before buying my Fender Player strat. They are gorgeous! I watched an interview with the owner, Robert Godin, as he led the interviewer through his factory. It was refreshing to see someone so passionate about his guitars and he was knowledgeable about every step of the manufacturing process and the quality of the woods used. I think a Godin is still in my future...
I tried many different Godin models years ago and didn't like the sound or feel of any of them. I haven't played any of them for a few years now. I almost dislike Godin Guitars the way Darrell hates all things Fender.
@@retiredguyadventures6211 or Gibson. Weird that he continually hates on the two most recorded guitars on the planet
I think we all have a "list" of guitar brands we want to own a model from. For me, the big one on my list is a Gibson Standard. The next after that is a Godin. Anytime I have been shopping for a guitar where a Godin would work, I either had a similar model in mind, or they were out of stock.
Darrell, as someone who owns three Godin guitars, this brought a smile on my face :)
I own a Godin Radium and love it! Smash together a telecaster, a Stratocaster, and a LP with a feel of an SG and that’s what Godin has managed to do with a Radium, at a price that won’t hurt quite as much. Oh yes, it also has split-coil tone! What’s not to love?
I live near the Canadian border, so pretty much all the local shops cary them. Ridiculously well made; I love their solidbody nylon string guitar the most.
Some *Godins* are made in Canada but assembled in New Hampshire (USA). It is a business trick. If you ship an entire piece across Canadian & USA border, you have to pay some kind of border fee. If you ship the same thing in pieces it’s free. Go figure that one out Lol.....
Awesome review. Thanks for showing us this beautiful Godin. I’m a Seagull acoustic fan and always thought Godin/Seagull gear was underrated and not featured enough. Keep up the good work!
Last week I played a seagull and it was awesome.
I switched to the Godin Motif classical acoustic guitar. That 24" radius is a major feature. Used to own a Seagull dreadnaught, and a Nylon string Multiac. Nylon strings are my old-man go-to guitars and ukes.
I live in South Australia and have owned a Godin 5th Avenue archtop for 2 years. Never thought I'd own a Canadian made guitar but I love the 5th Ave. It's quality, sound and feel - just can't fault it. Godin make consistent quality instruments and have since come across several models here in OZ.
Heaps Good! 🇦🇺
Cheers from Ballarat mate good to see Aussies chipping in, the 5th Ave guitars are great , I think most of the godin range are good it's a shame that the industry is dominated by 2 or 3 companies that are scared of purists ridiculing any sort of change in there line up of products.
@@stufromoz8164 You’re write mate !!! I own a hole bunch of Godin’s guitars and they all are fabulous but, surprise-surprise, my favourite is an old, semi-hollow *Hagstrom* Made in China Lol ..... The most stable (tuning wise) guitar that I’ve ever played. And it cost me only $550 CDN. BTW... check out YT video with Silvain Luc, playing Godin AveV with two P90s in trio (drums and bass). I still get shivers whenever I recall that video .....
@@skoch9995 I think the p90;s are one of the most underated pups of all time I find they can smoothly sing and ruggidly growl all with the turn of a tone knob and a good amp of course. I think more people need to have a good look at p90;s and get of this paf humbucker hype of overpriced guitars. the buckers are just another tool not necissarily a beeter one.
Living in Oregon and knowing that we still have a LOT of wood - the "shortage" is a supply chain problem not a resource one - Godin should sneak up on the other companies and put out some maple/walnut bodied guitars/basses. Put them with Lollar pickups and you're going to get some unholy tone monsters.
Tasty jam mate! Sounds great 👌
I tried out a Godin bass this weekend at a guitar shop. It was the first i had ever heard of Godin. I added it to the list to buy one day. Amazing guitar.
Godin makes a freakin' brilliant fretless guitar, in both 4- and 5-string. Worth the cost for sure.
Commenting from the U.S. here, so I’ll defer to our Québécois friends, but I believe the company name is pronounced “go-DAn” (the n lowercase on purpose because it’s a bit softer). I’ve heard people from the company (I think including a member of the Godin family) pronounce it that way on their website videos. But, again, I’ll defer to those of you in Quebec (greetings, by the way, to my neighbors to the north from not too far south of you in the Boston, Massachusetts, area!).
@Philthy Casual - nobody from Boston Massachusetts! 🇺🇸
that's correct. it's exactly as you put it - "go-DAn" with a nearly silent "soft n" consonant at the end.
it's always strange to me that they're not better known, but that's also what keeps their prices in the realm of sanity / amazing value. value doesn't mean cheap... you don't have to try a dozen of them to find a good one like you would with the average Gibson, and no Godin guitar I've ever picked up has had bad fretwork. I can't say that about Gibson, and for what they charge, that's kinda insulting.
Godin guitars (and their associated brands, such as acoustic companies Seagull, Simon and Patrick, etc.) are extremely well built. their "entry level" stuff stomps all over the competition too... for around "Fender Player" money, you get something that goes toe to toe with something that Fender would charge at least two to three times more.
the only thing I wish Godin would do with their LP style guitars is offer a model with a more modern "scoop joint" at the heel, much like e.g. Schecter does.
Yeah that's super close. Having lived on Québec for a while and getting my French certification there I'd say it's probably more like Go-DAIn with just the smallest hint of an "N" at the end
@@rodrigoteresa7944 Who gives a s... We’re talking about quality & price not about pronunciation Lol .....
@@skoch9995 Oh, I think that this part of the comments actually were talking about the pronunciation...
I played that exact model at L&M during the Canada day sale through a Revv G20 and the Traynor Darkhorse 212 (All Canadian rig). I was blown away but at 3k it was out of my budget.
I ended up getting the model with the Seymour Duncans instead at a local store for less than half the price. It doesn't have a flame top but it does have a beautiful grain with the crème brûlée finish (cherry burst looking).
I had just played a 6000$ Gibson Les Paul that had left me thoroughly unimpressed, and the Summit made my playing better. It just has that magic I guess. I'll concede what you said about the resale value though.
I'm glad you finally showcased another Godin, I've been pretty vocal about wanting to see some on your channel, and you picked a fabulous one at that. Great video!
Godin guitars are a nice little secret. The prices are going up so the great buys are few and far between. Love my Freeway EMG!!!
That's magnificently finished! I love the inset of the knobs. Subtle and elegant all the way.
Glad you're finally reviewing this! I post on guitar channels all the time for someone to review this, think I did on yours a few time too haha. Great guitars!
Those Pups were setting off some classic tones that for me, " Checked all the right boxes"
I am happy to see you finally got a Godin onto the channel. My main guitar is a Core CT HB in a beautiful tobacco burst. I also recently sold my 2015 Session for a good sum. The Session was better than any MIM Strat I ever tried (but I could not pass up on the offer). The Core’s fit & finish is fantastic & it is every bit as good as any Gibson single cut I have played. I am happy with my Core & do not think I will ever replace it as it is everything I want in a guitar.
Darrell your timing is better than many RUclips so-called pros. That might be poor etiquette, but it’s true. Besides, they’re the ones claiming to be the REAL musicians around here. They ought to be able to back it up. I’d like to add that you are one of the finest gentlemen on here, or anywhere fior thst matter. I hope I haven’t embarrassed you, but you deserve a pat in the back for a job well done. Take care,
Godin makes the absolute best acoustic-electric oud. As an acoustic instrument, it’s fantastic and a lot more stable than our traditional ouds, and the electronics are no slouch either.
I got 2 Godin and they are as sharp as my 2018 LP. I can suggest you to review the stadium 59! The bridge pick up is amazing and what they've done to the classic tele shape is amazing. The neck shape and finish is just fantastic
I have an acoustic Godin, and it is pure sex! Next Godin I want is the Radium in Carbon Black. Such a nice neck on it!
@@zadtheinhaler I like the Radium in Winchester Brown.
This has got to be the best intro solo I've ever heard from you. It had a beautiful "song-like" quality.
Top shelf stuff 👍
Once again, really epic solo sections in this video.
I have had six Godins and currently have a summit with humbuckers and the summit classic with p90s Creme brûlée
Godin keep innovating and improving their product line and they have maintained a consistent high standard of fit and finish for the 20 years I have been buying them
Hello from Australia
That Godin looks and sounds amazing! Thanks for showing this one on your channel Darrell.
I hear a typical P90 kind of bite/attack on the notes you're playing, I love that! These pickups sound amazing, even in high gain they give you clarity and definition, I must say I'm really impressed. Instantly fell in love with the sound of this guitar!
So happy to see Godin on the channel! I have both a Godin Arena classical guitar, and a Dorchester short scale bass. I found they just felt so great to play, sound amazing, and I actually appreciate seeing the wood they use and the structure of the instrument. I urge everyone to just try one, especially if you're not super into brands and just want something great to play!
About 15 years ago I played a Godin bass. It was a semi hollow, fretless four string bass. I still remember how sweet it played and felt. I've never tried one of their guitars but if it's anything like their bass it's got to be great.
A friend of mine is a huge Godin aficionado and owns probably a couple dozen of them. He knows the owners and has visited the factory many times. I believe he even had them make him one or two one-off custom models. I think Godin makes some exceptional guitars and have thought about getting one for quite some time but I just haven't found one with a neck profile that I've bonded with. Maybe some day. Anyway, good for you, Darrell... I'm sure you'll continue to enjoy the Summit... plus it's a nice shout-out to a great Canadian company.
I picked up a Godin Hss tremelo Session last week in a trade, very underrated guitar. Nice fit and finish, tones and amazing playability. Want to grab another Godin, maybe this or the p90 loaded Jazzbox
*Go for it !!!* You won’t regret it...
Typically I’m one to boast about certain brands that don’t really trigger the algorithm but with Godin I’m happy to let them fly under the radar. Only because I don’t want everyone buying them up! Truly an awesome brand that brings their own ideas to “classic” guitar shapes.
I have played Godin guitars, acoustic and electric-they are premium guitars!
Great to see you finally review a Godin on the channel ! Merci ! I have a Godin Session. Great SSH guitare for many styles.
Thank you for the review! It's so difficult to get your hands on a Godin Summit, and their offerings for this guitar have been amazing. Having never gotten to play one, this helps immensely. Take care.
I wasn't a fan of Godin until I saw the Core CT model. I fell in love with that guitar, specifically the twin p90 variant. Unfortunately it was discontinued before I had enough to buy and I wasn't able to find it anywhere in my country. Places that sold it no longer had it. That is my sad story.
The fact that guitar is made in Canada is great! What a lovely lookin and sounding guitar! I,d be proud to own one! Nice review Darrell signed your neighbor in Vt. USA!
I have played numerous Godin guitars, and they always impressed me in that they were a lot of guitar for the money. A friend passed away and left me a Godin 4-string bass which is one of the nicest basses I've played. My son borrowed it and announced that I wasn't getting it back! Oh well, it's still in the family.
What I like about this guitar is it still has the classic Les Paul form, but it’s not as chunky. In the side-by-side comparison, the Godin has a slight offset to it, which is attractive. Some of that slimming and slight reproportioning is where you might trim some of the traditional weight.
I’ve liked every Godin I’ve played. They are high-quality and innovative guitars.
I tend to hold onto the gear I buy. Quality, longevity, and “connection“ is important to me. I still own and play pre-Gibson Tobias basses - one from Hollywood, one from Burbank.
So, if I was in the market for a Les Paul style guitar, I would definitely look at the Godin as a contender because of lighter weight, more refined playability, and consistent high quality - as a next generation Les Paul. All of the original guitar designs had room for improvement. I would pay a comparable price for a better guitar and plan to keep it.
Representing the great white north! Way to be bro!!
Hi Darrell. I bought a standard Summit Classic a few years ago and love it. It has SD humbuckers and a Spanish cedar body and the
neck also, I think. It was almost half the price of a Standard LP at that time. It's not as beautiful as yours but it's tone is on par with the
Supreme. One thing you didn't mention is that it has a Richlite finger board. That seems to scare some people but if they try it I'm sure
they will love it.
*Richlite* !!! That’s the word I forgot. Thank you mate. Sweeds at *Hagstrom* have different name for that but, the idea and materials are the same (or very similar). (BTW... During the first class at the forestry college, our prof. demoes gears made out of tree bark and some kind of “other thing”. Sweeds are very secretive about it but it looks like Godin’s got their secret.
My icon has ebony, but they have been all over the map trying new things. PRS is supposed to be such an innovator, but godin has tried a lot of stuff. Weird PRS style headstock, weisrd body shapes, a few different neck profiles. The ergo neck is pretty great. I can play on my Godins longer than my Les Paul or my Jackson.
Hey Darrell, you should check out vintage 47 amps. They are modeled after vintage valco and gibson amps. They have handwired point to point wiring. One thing to note is they are octal tube amps, and those have 8 pins instead of 9, and have a very different sound. They are in tons of models that are mostly valco designs. One of the most unique ones is the chicago triple. It has 3 speakers. One is a 10 inch and 2 are 8 inches. It features boost and bias controls which are pretty cool. I honestly think the va 185g would be the most interesting. It is a replica of the EH 185, think Charlie Christian. All of the amps also have volume and tone controls that interact with each other, allowing you to control feedback and amp overdrive. They are made in the USA with hand jointed Baltic birch solid or laminated, pine bracing and smooth corners. They also have hand painted pinstripes which are really cool.
Godin ... They once made those Tele-shaped acoustic guitars with that big control panel for the piezo on the body's top horn, didn't they?! I assume 'Godin' is meant to be pronounced in French, by the way 🙂 And I hear sounds from this guitar that remind me of Rush and April Wine! Probably not a coincidence that they too are Canadian! 😉
Really great looking guitar; the fit and finish is just amazing perfect. All the details are really impressive, too. I love the flamed maple top and the rolled pup routes, recessed controls, belly bevel, etc. I’d love to know what the Gibson guys think, when they see a different maker’s LP with better appointments than their own products.
Man Godins are amazing. I have a session ht in matt black and its an amazing guitar. Handcrafted in Canada for just 1000 bucks, just unbelievable. Mine is in HSS and after adding a freeway switch its an absolute dream...
Legend has it on a warm and humid night you can smell the faint scent of maple syrup coming off the guitar's finish.
You can taste it if you lick it 😉
I love Godin guitars and own a number. I have the Godin Summit Classic Convertible, one of the most versatile guitars I have ever played. I also have the Godin Progression, a Strat like guitar, and in my opinion the best Strat I have ever played. Both definitely worth checking out.
Love those Prails
Always nice fit, finish and design from Godin. That was fun as you rarely get exposed to their line in such a professional manner. That model, in tone, surprisingly offers similar tones that my Gretsch Jet does. Nice guitar.
Absolutely beautiful!
As a strat owner but huge Slash fan, I've struggled to find a single cut that doesn't feel like dump truck in my hands. Gibson/Epiphone LP's are so chunky and just feel cumbersome and less articulate. Trying to reach the upper frets is a real struggle compared to my strat. I love the tones from LP's but hate the playability.
Same boat. Cant stand les paul for their weight and playability. I know its part of the charm but I have no itch to further ruin my back haha
Have a look at the PRS S2 single cut. It’s thin ish more like an SG.
@@tomrochester7381 Thanks. That was my thinking too. The PRS probably wont nail those Slash tones but it seems a lot more versatile.
@@theKid87 Slash fan and PRS player here :) I think PRS can come close enough to Les Paul tone that the player makes more of a difference than the instrument itself. I have a Sweet Child cover on my channel using my PRS. Check it out and tell me if you close your eyes if you can tell if I'm playing a PRS or a Gibson ;)
@@francischang Pretty dam close I'd say. Thanks Francis. I also won't be running it through a Marshall, and I'm not Slash so it'll never be 100% anyway.
Wow, sounded really good. Very quacky pickups.
Like always, excellent demo on the Godin Summit.
Thank you Darrell, totally enjoyed this one, surprised.
Sounds amazing, cuts through in the mix beautifully, great licks too:)))
I have hollow-body and t-style Godins and I love them. Relatively affordable and great quality (also I'm Canadian and kind of biased lol). This Summit looks gorgeous.
Love the sound of this guitar. That middle position, wow. What a pretty, versatile guitar. Great find! Thanks for the video!
Hey Darrel. Great review of a great guitar by a really underrated guitar maker. Guitar and bass player and woodworker here...FYI, the "routing" you refer to starting at 4:51 is called a chamfer.
Thanks for some great exposure for one of my favourite guitar makers.
I was in my local shop getting some work done on a guitar and saw this very guitar on display. I didn't play it, but it instantly drew my attention. It really is a gorgeous guitar, at least for me.
At first glance I thought it was a custom shop Les Paul Deluxe, until I saw the knob config. Sounds amazing
Holy mother if god, that intro tone. This is what I need.
I purchased a Godin gold top ct convertible with Seymour Duncan P-rail pickups from Sweetwater about 2 months ago. I like low action so I had it Ple'kd, and locking tuners installed. I've owned 3 Les Paul's in the past and this guitar is their equal. 0nly 7 lbs so more better when your older like I am. Can't go wrong with the quality and attention to detail.
Hi Darrell, been following your channel ( as a fellow Canadian), and love what you do. Often, your reactions to some guitars- positive or negative, regardless of price, have influenced my personal decisions on purchasing same. For that reason, I am writing about this edition. Actually the Godin guitar company is about 10 minutes from my home, and I have many of their guitars- major value for the money. Ironicatly, I'm not sure where or from whom you got THIS guitar, but when I checked with Godin about buying one of these, they told me this line has been discontinued for a while. So if anyone is actually looking for one, they should be looking in the USED section. Keep up the tremendous work- love your enthusiasm.
i love that somebody finally reviewed an electric godin, godin is so slept on
Ok I'm not a flamed maple fan (my OCD can't handle the lines not joining perfectly in the middle) but this thing sounds incredible!!! The Godin I've been eyeing is the 5th avenue Kingpin II with the P90s 😍
I have a Artisan ST w/Floyd, LGXT, 5 string bass & a La Patrie CW Concert. I'm a big fan of Godin guitars. Godin is always the best guitar for the money you pay, although it may not be the best looking one.
My local geetar store was short on stock and I had money to burn... I ended up buying a Godin Session HT and never would have given it the time of day if there were more traditional options like Fenders. Played perfect, sounds great and glad I took the chance. Definitely one of my go to guitars now. 🤘🏿🎸🤘🏿
The headstock is beautiful. It is simply elegant, which is always in style. Really a beautiful instrument.
Always nice to hear something that’s not a strat, tele or Les Paul. This thing sounds great 👍
With Godins being as amazing as they are AND ALSO made in Canada, I see no reason to buy anything else. They make a guitar for everyone and I adore them!
Love your channel, appreciate all the advice and no-nonsense practical knowledge. Your videos focus on hardware, and I realize that is what your channel is mainly about. But, you keep saying practice and don't worry about the small stuff. How about some videos on practice myths and practice advice. Clearly you are an experienced player in many genres. How about some history or your guitar journey, dumb or ineffective things you did that maybe you can help us skip. How to practice, what to practice. Can we learn online or do we need an instructor for sure. How much theory vs practical? You've convinced me that choosing the hardware is not nearly as important as the skillset of the player. Help me get there! Thanks for all you do! I appreciate you!
Great review Darrell. Nice appointments on this model & great lead tones too. I like the HD boost option too.
Totally agree on the colour of the blue LP... beautiful! The Godin is pretty impressive btw!
Always wondered about the godin guitars. Never seen one like that, it’s beautiful, love that neck. Sounds like it’s wired out of phase. I flipped the magnet in my LP and I love it, especially with two volumes to blend. Edit: that thing sounds amazing. Somewhere between a tele and a LP. Killer
Thanks Darrell.
that's the first one from Godin I've seen like that (and the sweetwater link does not feature it). Great looks and sound, but I have a Prophecy, so...
I have four godins. I love the necks! So easy to play. Mine are all fender derivations, and they are made from basswood. They are also very light, which I love. The quality is very good for the money. Excellent value.
Godin’s guitars are very well built. They care about small details as the keys, pots, ergonomic shape, great electronics like the toggle switches, pickups.
The HDR is a good option , it can be very useful.
The finish on their instruments is top notch.
I got guitars, acoustic and electric from them, also a Shifter Bass and i am very satisfy .
Was wondering why Godin wasn't more featured on your Channel since you both are Canadian. Glad to see Godin make an appearance! Love my stadium 59 and have a progression coming in the mail this week!
Don’t to forget to mention the price, you can pick up fir example a Gidin Tele for $765 Cdn, covert that into American dollars. Also I’d like to mention that Godin had made some Les Pauls for Gibson in short run. If you can pickup a Moose Head beer Les Paul jump on it
As always. .I really wanted and waiting the guitar solo part of Darell Braun😊 it's nice to hear.
I've had 3 Godin's over the years they have never failed to impress me with their fit and finish. The only issue I had with the ones I owned was that they didn't have "it" and I didn't vibe with them. But such good guitars though.
That is an awesome guitar intro!!!! I love the sound. So hot and clean. She's on fire!
The craftsmanship is awesome on the Godin,,,you can actually see waves in the top of the Gibson,,,,
I have owned 2 Godins. Session HSS and a stadium HT. Amazing guitars. Ended up selling them because I needed some cash. I’ll own another one again one day…
Well to me. Godin is to Canada as Gibson is to the USA. With that. To my ear is the best sounding guitar I have heard you play. Just something about it. Great video Darrell. Amazing playing!!
According to their website the guitars are assembled in my home state of New Hampshire USA. Go CANAM partnership.
.. NH indeed, live free... ;)
Godin! Many years ago I "found" one, an acoustic, in a corner of a friend's house. Very excited I picked it up and immediately managed to bang it against a table. "I saw that!" the owner said with a smile, but there was bee involved and there was no damage to the guitar. Anyways - I don't know where and when I got the "Godin GAS", but I love them. I don't have any though. Not yet.
That might be the best looking guitar I've seen in a while. Thanks 🇨🇦
Definitely has a unique tone! I have an older Godin Shifter, really nice playing guitar.
Godin makes great guitars. They used to have them shipped as parts to the u.s. and assembled here. no more tho.when you want an LP without the price a godin is a good choice.
At 3k......Used !
Where is that price break again lol....
U gan get a very solid and clean Les Paul for $2k- 2500..
I don't get it.
@@RaptorV1USA def not $3k used. my local shop sells godin LP style guitars with flamed tops, mahogany construction for $1200... new... they used to be $999
This singlecut has a dream to be a Jazzmaster. And, there is the first-fret incrustation. Cool. Like for that.
Excellent review! I own a Godin Summit Classic HB Creme Brulee HG with Duncan Pickups and a plain Jane top. I bought it in 2019 for under a grand (US). It sounds excellent for what I play, Classic Rock. It has the second best action of all my axes. I currently have eleven guitars, this is #4 of my favorites. A '17 PRS 594SC, '21 PRS S2 McCarty 594 and a Michael Kelly Enlightened, 'are at the top.
The only down side to the Godin is that after a few years the circuit board doesn't hold up too well. The boost button doesn't do much of anything anymore. Yes the battery is brand new. I've oft times considered swapping the stock setup for some real pots. Other than that... It is a very nice guitar.
Loving the Gold-Foil pickups!!! Crisp, warm and bright sound to me.
Godin uses Richlite fingerboards on most Summit models. I find this rather surprising, since my considerably less expensive ($799.99 CDN on an introductory special) 2020 Radiator Trans Cream has an actual rosewood fingerboard. It's not the old Radiator, though, it's more like a mid-range semi-hollow LP model with a one-piece bridge, two buckers and a three way switch. 24.75" scale, 12" radius, 22 frets, and an awesome rockin' machine any way you slice it. Love, love, love my Godin guitars!♥️
That's a looker. Big Godin fan. Every Canadian guitarist should have at least one Godin.
My favorite guitar is the one hooked up to my GR-55. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE 💗 THE GUITAR!!!! Mine is a 91 LX GT Its got heart! Love mine!!!!
A homegrown! Yessir! Had I the $$$ I would've loved the version with the BK pickups in Cognac burst. What a beaut! The new (and very affordable) version in Havana Brown is another beaut as well. Cheers!
I have a Godin bass and it is a fantastic guitar.
Love when the inlays take up the whole fret. More companies need to do this IMO.
I can't even afford a guitar that nobody talks about😅😂.
ESP 256FM
You can afford that.
No kidding. The one model of this exact guitar I found online used was 3k....!!!! Fukme....
Average high quality / spec proper Gibson Les Paul -$2500-3k.

Which would you rather invest in..?
Epiphone Les Paul Special, about $150 - $175
@@RaptorV1USA I invested in a Eastman LP 59 its as good or better than most Gibson custom shops in my opinion.. I paid $
1200 used.
@@davidross5630 I just found a new Vintage ( brand lol) V100 GT for 400 shipped it needed a little fret clean up, no biggie then I decided to put proper P90's in it and hell why not all new electronics , a Babicz FCH bridge Hipshots... So.....I'm in about $ 750 total and it kicks serious ass ;-) and looks awesome... I'll probably get a proper Gibby one day but hell with these Eastman's, Heritages, etc..maybe not..! i want an awesome guitar if it's a known brand great, if not, i can't afford to play the label game.. my Harley Benton's kick ass and are all under $500 well modified..... till then.. the options do not disappoint esp if you have a few skills and enjoy customizing anything and everything.... 😜
I have nearly pulled the trigger on a Godin a few times... just might do it one day
Oh on the list and have not tried a bad one yet
@@zeusapollo8688 good to know. I appreciate something that's not 100% mainstream but is also trustworthy and not abnormal
I own a Godin Session Custom (‘Assembled in the USA from parts hand-crafted in Canada’, what’s not to like about that?). I use the HDR all the time, because it makes the sound more defined. It has a humbucker in the neck position which doesn’t sound muddy at all, thanks to HDR.
It was not exactly a cheap guitar, but a lot more affordable than the Summit. I paid around € 900 for it.
Same for me, I have the Session Custom 59'. :)
I have 4 Godins. Love them all.
I play a Godin A6 Utlra hybrid electric/acoustic. It is amazing. Easy to play and sounds great. I've played about half a dozen of their electrics too. They all play very easily. That is my favorite thing about them.
I have owned a Squier Strat and an Epi ES355. Traded both for a Godin Radiator. Awesome guitar, made in Canada by Canadian craftsmen. I would only trade it in on another Godin electric. I also have 2 Seagull acoustics (made by Godin) that I would put up against any Gibson and dollar for dollar they can’t be topped. By the way Darrell, you need to brush up on the pronunciation of “Godin” 😉.
