      @YAAD I agree about essential oils on cotton balls fading. I use them on wool dryer balls, too.

    • @littledancingfawn
      @littledancingfawn Год назад +3

      I put a few drops of essential oil in the filter of my vacuum so every time I use it I freshen the house. I Normally use eucalyptus and peppermint, both have anti viral and anti bacterial properties so I’m killing bad things in the air. Definitely helps in the winter cold and flu season.
      Diffuse eucalyptus and peppermint any time someone in your home is sick with sinus or respiratory issues.
      Peppermint EO in dark areas of pantries, behind counter, behind fridge and oven or inside closets on cotton balls or a few drops straight on top the wood helps with roaches too. ☺️
      Keep your skin moist and health mixing any EO with almond oil or kitchen oil oil in a spray bottle in your bathroom. Every time after you shower while still wet spray your skin to trap the water and get the amazing properties of your EO onto your skin. Leaves skin soft! You can make a perfume scent with different EO’s mix with the almond. After shower that scent will last for awhile.
      Have rancid oil because you forgot and didn’t finish that olive oil, sesame oil or any other oil that has an off smell. Use it as furniture polish for any wood furniture or wood cabinets. It can also be used on indoor or outside tools, lawn tools ( shovels, axe rake, loopers etc) or other metal so it help prevent rust. Put a drop or two on that squeaky door hinge. I also use a drop on a paper towel to wipe off fake plant leaves. I have a couple fake decorations around the house. I dust them with a tiny bit of oil.
      I have so many home life hack or hints. Lol

      One way I have duplicates is like when my sister passed away I got stuff from her and then when my mom passed away I got stuff from her or at one time I tried to do a business of cakes so I bought a lot of different size cake pans and shapes so now my husband and my kids are saying get rid of them cuz you don't use them! But I'm afraid if I get rid of them that is the pain that I'm going to need next because somebody's going to want me to make a cake for him that knew me before but I didn't do the business. I have this huge cake pan from when I made the groom's cake and nobody in my family is going to eat a cake that big! I really like watching you last night Lisa I was learning some different things that I had not thought of. 🦋🦋🌄❤️🦋🦋

    What a lovely home! Oh, to have so much space for everything! The clothes closet is a dream! That kitchen is amazing and I love the style of the furniture throughout! Very nice video and ideas! I was especially happy when you mentioned having a personal relationship with the Lord, because He is the source of life and all that is good! I have a beverage coaster made with yarn and plastic canvas that my son made when he was only 9 years old that I still use to this day, 21 years later, so your sentiment over you daughter's sweet pictures really resonates with me!

      @@LisaBurningham Those little treasures are priceless, so much to me, that I saved almost everything my two children brought home from school or church, all in big boxes. I know I should thin it out now that they are grown with their own children, but I just cannot bring myself to throw any of it away. Guess I need to scan it all to a computer drive, or something. (Might be a good video topic, "Hacks for organizing sentimental treasures," or something similar, if interested and you haven't used it already.) I am not a big packrat, by nature, but I am deeply sentimental, maybe too much! 😅 They just grow up SO FAST!

    To extent the life of you child's art, while keeping her home decor efforts intact is as follows: find a piece of clear glass which is large enough to cover the artwork.(This can be from a picture frame, often can be found at thrift store cheap), locate morrow anchors that you like, then simply attach glass over the are as displayed by the artist. If you wish, you can even get glass a bit larger, so you can add a "plaque or card, stating age of artist, year art was finished and what the subject matter is.
    In this way, you will have a life long display.

    Get a sturdy bottle brush that fits in your disposal and pour1/4 baking soda, a good squirt of dish soap and then slowly pour a generous amount of white vinegar in the drain so that it really bubbles up into the sink. Let that sit for a while then scrub the disposal out with the bottle brush well then rinse it all down the drain with hot water. It is disgusting how much stuff sprays up and sticks to the sides of the disposal and the bottom of the guard. I do this about once a week.

      Yes, it is useful for so many things! Another one that works exactly the same way is Bon Ami if Bar Keepers Friend is not available. For me, one works as safely and as well as the other and both are recommended for cleaning stainless steel by manufacturers. Just thought I'd mention it the way stores these days are often out of stock.

    Great hacks! I find that I can get the same results as you did with your scratched white plate and cloudy drinking glass, by using baking soda and white vinegar and a scrubbie sponge like you used with the bartender's friend. I have used bar keepers Friend for a long time. I was one of those suckers that bought those expensive pots and pans way back when and because we had hard water there was all these white spots on the bottom of them and the demonstrator told me to use the bar keepers Friend on that and it would go away and I would have a shiny pot again. Well I did have a shiny pot so from then on my pots and pans no matter how much I pay for them always get some bar keepers Friend on them and it works really good also on the ceramic ones once they start getting stained it will get some of it up maybe not all of it after a while but at least they will look cleaner then using nothing.

    I love the book ring and shower curtain ring idea but when it comes to storing tank tops, underwear, t-shirts and things that don't need to be hung to stay wrinkle free, I like using the collapsible shoe box sized fabric covered boxes that fit in a dresser drawer so and you can roll up each tank top into a ball shape and store them in one of these boxes. You might be able to fit 12-20 tank tops in a box. That way they don't take up room in your closet and they take less time to put away because all you need to do is roll them up and stick them in the box and shut the drawer. When you need to choose one, they are all there organized by color if you wish - as soon as you open the drawer.

Many of these ideas will work well in our travel trailer, where space is limited. Your neatly folded sweaters and colorized clothing remind me of my days working in a retail clothing store.
