There's a behind the scenes of him and the other band mates in a rehearsal space. They're doing just like you imagined (my favorite instrumental) and he's meticulously going through it. At the end they play it and it's fucking amazing. I imagine Trent makes them all practice over and over. It's amazing
I am always Amazed by every performance I see as someone who was so late didcovering Nine Inch Nails just last year & I can't get enough- Superb Performaces Please come to NY on tour 2022 Trent-Nine Inch Nails
The song was released 18 years ago, which is more impressive. Although to be honest, when it was released, many NIN fans considered it too pop and mainstream. I liked it a lot from the beginning 😅
@@SlowDIIV I mean to be fair, the songwriting is kinda a pop format. It's not a bad thing. Alot of rock music that has had pop format song structure like pop punk, nu-metal, and emo was very popular. Not every song obviously, but there was a lot of that in those genres. I kinda wish that rock would embrace a little more experimentation like the 90s and 2000s. Rock has fallen out of the mainstream because the fans don't like change anymore. Alot of metal and rock in general sounds very bland and repetitive, with the bands on Octane radio/Spotify sounding all the same. There are some good bands today for sure, but I wish metal fans would accept some stuff that is different and out of the box more often.
@@CliffArmijo I think the advantage of this era is that you can discover a lot of interesting projects on your own very easily. The downside is that with algorithms and whatnot you can end up stuck in a bubble, listening to the same old stuff. I agree that sometimes some fans of certain genres are too purists in their tastes. Sometimes it's healthy to give a chance to different approaches in any form of art, otherwise you run the risk of becoming a mere gatekeeper.
@@SlowDIIV TikTok, RUclips, Instagram, etc....can definitely be a good way for independent artists to get discovered. Which is awesome compared to having to go through a label like in the past..which was the only path at the time. Also people are able to not be confined to one genre. You were kinda stuck in that bubble in past decades. Good and bad music comes for this all the time. But rock/metal bands tend to never explore other genres to be mixed in with their own genre. They don't have to make a country album or anything...but it would be cool to see mixing again. Linking Park and Jay-Z was one of the coolest things that happened during the nu-metal scene. The only band I consistently see try new stuff and change genres dramatically all the time to test stuff out is Bring me to the Horizon. They are afraid to try shit. You know rock is in a bad state when you have festivals still being headlined by bands that are 40 years old consistently instead of new bands in the space. I love metal so much, but it's insane how much it has dropped in popularity since metal in the 80s, grunge in the 90s, nu-metal in the 2000s, and emo in the early 2010s.
You're keeping in step In the line Got your chin held high and you feel just fine 'Cause you do What you're told But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you wanna change it? What if this whole crusade's a charade And behind it all there's a price to be paid For the blood on which we dine Justified in the name of the holy and the divine Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you wanna change it? So naive I keep holding on to what I wanna believe I can see But I keep holding on and on and on and on Will you bite the hand that feeds you? Will you stay down on your knees? The lyrics to this one just get me. it's the most relevant lyric for today's world. We all want our freedoms back and this is the anthem to fight to get it back. Love this track.Genius.
This is honestly where Trent's at his best. Really shows off how fucking incredible his control & breathing are. In many shows later on he couldn't keep up with the high notes and the last "and on".
@@ngominh259 This is called "takes". It is not "live" per say. A/V can do amazing things for an un-trained eye ;) They edited certain parts so that it would sound and look better

Best NIN lineup ever. Cortini keeping the synths boiling and screeching, the beast of a drummer Freese behind the kit and last but not least, the OG madman Aaron North on guitar. I like Fink, he's cool and all, but I could care very little for his absence.
This was the first song to get me interested in NIN. Changed my entire life.
Nin means patience in pali

Same!
Same!!
How they always make thier live versions sound better than the record is beyond me.

It's like this with most industrial bands. More raw instruments and less fiddling with samples/filters/effects.
Alessandro is tha man..
not the obvious "rocker" but an ever-present push of blood flowing deeply in the organs of the NIN experience
i still dont get how perfect all these beside you in time live recordings are.. every few years i come back to it and its still baffling
lots and lots of sound checks...
never thought 17 years later that Year Zero would become more relatable for me than I ever wanted it to be.
Yup. Been on my playlist for a week now. Stay up
Man, the synth in the intro sounds so much better live.
It really does.
You can really hear reznors guitar kick in when he starts playing
Awesome live version.
As a gen-X guy, who grew up with NIN: is anyone else caught off guard by how fucking jacked Trent is??
best live band they had
minus Jeordie White. He might play the parts good but i wouldn’t want someone like that anywhere near me
@@cactus-mcjacktus why, what did he do?

Wow! Trent has buffed up since I saw him in the 00s. He’s aging very well 😍🥰🙂
Very well ❤️
I listened to this song on Midnight Club 3!
Saw em in Seattle with Soundgarden last August...my mind was fucking blown. Absolutely incredible live!
Omg... NIN and SG??????? X_____X
😢 We miss Chris Cornell.

i got to see these guys in 2000,2004-06,2009,2013 and i must admit the with teeth line up is a close 2nd to the 2000 line up
ThaTruth223 did you. go in 2004 in Austin
Aaron North lineup is best
ThaTruth223 spot on.
I agree. He brought an element of punk rock chaos to the group
Josh Freese bought it all together.
these men are badd ass im a metalhead/ and now a nine inch nails fan now right on killer licks
Seen NIN live in ‘05 one of the best live Concerts i’ve been to close to flawless live (On a different level as far as a live rock band)
LOVE THIS SONG!!!
Just Fantastic! Love this band, they never fail to impress. Epic, so glad I saw them live couple times here in blighty. First time was back in '93.
How do they sound this good.
This was so ahead of its time when you think this was 13 years ago. Awesome set!
