- One of the greatest Queens to ever reign over England was Elizabeth I, the final Tudor monarch. It was during her decades on the throne that she saw the Elizabethan period, a time of great change where writers such as Shakespeare were thriving and she managed to also see off some great threats to her throne. Elizabeth I ended the life of one of her greatest opponents Mary Queen of Scots by having her executed inside the walls of Fotheringhay Castle. But Elizabeth I also managed to defeat the Spanish Armada, the greatest enemy and army of the time across Europe. But Elizabeth was a Queen who was loved by her followers and population and she was very popular. Following her death in 1603 there was a huge outpouring of grief across England and the Nation, and many people could not see what the nation would be like without her reigning over them. However following her death she was interred in a burial vault with her grandfather Henry VII before she was then dug up and moved to her final resting place. But what is this burial vault like, and why was it broken into?
Visiting her tomb was one of the greatest moments of my life! I didn't know that someone had gone in to investigate in Victorian times. Thank you for this!!
Mine as well 🙌🏻
I thought it quite vulgar that she was placed near the Queen she had executed.
I commissioned a 1:12 scale doll of Elizabeth I. The artist repeated that white gown in the first photo with near exact detail. Best purchase i have made in a long time.
'Frail', is the first word that comes to my mind seeing this person with the given information.
Thank you! I particularly enjoyed her various portraits.
Yes I noticed that as well, many that I had never seen before. Nice job for researching the archives of the imagery. I've often thought how unfortunate it was for posterity that Hans Holbein wasn't around during her reign then we could have really gotten such a better idea of her true appearance and nature. It seems that almost all portraits of Elizabeth were idealized versions that had to be approved by her and they must never represent her as an aged woman/Queen. Also so many portraits were repainted versions by later artists so after 3 or 4 generations of copies they just turn into parodies of the original.
Now, why would you title Opening the coffin and burial vault of queen elizabeth l? The coffin shown was never opened. What a LIE.
More clickbait!!
Dang it!
@@eunicestone6532 What's so funny, is they always show you the mummies in Egypt and some recently exhumed in the last couple of years. But not the Kings and Queens of England and they lie about the exhumations, have you seen photos of those Kings and Queens of England lying in state? Of course not, they're most likely reptilians like the last Queen.
Yes won’t be subscribing 😮
They have a whole series about "opening" something and they never do. I call FRAUD! 😡
I find Elizabeth I's face rather odd and distinctive. The lower half is strong featured (chunky?) and seems to project forwards. Above the eyes the forehead seems to slope back. It's hard to directly connect it with either of her parents. It seems a mix of the two including Henry VIII's strong lower face, Anne Boleyn's outline oval face shape and maybe Henry VII's (her grandfather's) nose. Looking again at Henry VII, more like him than I first thought.
elizabeth 1 was relations with the Habsburgs
@@danniellefenton-johnston8123 But only *very* distantly.
Does anyone think in 0:45 the eye area looks very like her mother Anne?
Sweet!!! ❤️
I knew I had left my keys somewhere!
I would like to knwn what was buried with her . Um not the open coffin plz ok? What jewels and what dress did she wear?
the coffin wasn't opened and never will be so no one knows
So is the coffin ⚰️ of Elizabeth I just inside the sarcophagus marble box (in Westminster Abbey) with the carved marble effigy atop or is the coffin ⚰️ buried deep underneath it ?
I believe her coffin is buried underneath the sarcophagus in a vault in Westminster Abbey.
All of the remains of everyone who is buried in Westminster Abby are buried deep beneath the floors in vaults. The only things above ground are sarcophagus and effigies
Oh, hearing computer keys on this site's beginning and end so clever and unique. (Right.)
this is truly read opening the variable vault of Queen Elizabeth the first and queen Mary the first
Perhaps the title of this channel actually refers to the narrator.
She had too much of her daddy's bad traits but at least she didn't become criminally insane like him.
I wonder why these buddies haven't been taken.and put on display in a museum
so the coffin wasn't opened then
It's a shame that you had to cram so much information about Elizabeth's death (not to mention her entire reign) in just 10 minutes. Inevitably there is only so many facts can be covered in such a short amount of time. Perhaps in future you could allow more time in the video and more time for researching your topic. Otherwise top marks for a valiant attempt on such a complicated reign, life and even death.
She was responsible for the death of a million in Ireland one of the greatest Queens to the Englush maybe .. that's about it..
She was but also stopped a million dying from a Spanish invasion, when the Normans invaded they took all the land and inslaved the people for 300 years, changed the language not that different to Ireland except they never left
Did they actually HEAR her body explode? Did they hear her dad's?
Who took her place upon her death as she didn’t have any children?
click bait! nothing to do with opening the coffin.
Did they actually HEAR her body explode? Did they with her old man?
The coffin was never opened
Her father was Henry VIII, not the 7th. Geez.
The narrator said grandfather
It was getting boring. Nothing about opening her coffin, so I moved the curser forward. Again, nothing!
Click bait undeed.
Very bad form.
I thought the greatest QUEEN was Elton John. But then, what do I know?
Well the only one to marry a women so far!!
Bro lied
today's date
Dem bones dem bones dem dry bones no body
Re your comment " she would reign as a queen again in Heaven " remember she was excommunicated from the Church.
CLICKBAIT.......
That's hot.
Are we gonna see a dead body or what? 3:10
0:22 oh God that is not proportionate whatsoever
Bummer no dead body
2:07 that's a lot of ridiculous clothing for a single person
The title of this 'channel' is too feminist and sexist. But we have here another anonymous narrator, just like 'History Calling'. And like many web titles, it is lying and sensational to attract viewers. In this case, the coffin was never opened. But 'Bess' 's body DID explode, like her dad's. So that's something. They should open the tomb now..
Again, this title is misleading.
8:53 kinda sucks how there's always tarps and scaffolding and whatnot bullshit in any attempt to show updated clips of these useless relics,🙄
8:21 I'm sorry but I would steal that stupid crown. Just to do it
Sweet!!! ❤️
