  • Overlanding and Camping in Zimbabwe at Nyavasikana Wilderness Camp in Gonarezhou National Park.
A true wilderness camp in the south of Gonarezhou, located at the confluence of the Nuanetsi and Mwenezi rivers. No facilities except for an open-air long drop toilet, and some nice shade, as well as the option to fish. The campsite is also for one party/group at a time only, and is a spot where you will definitely feel like you are all alone in the wild. One of Gonarezhou's many great campsites, Nyavasikana is also ideally located for those who love full off-grid remote/bush camping, and are perhaps travelling via Mozambique's Sango border post (if your route is via Pafuri and the Kruger National Park).
This site is unfenced, and Gonarezhou is a Big Five park. There is no electricity, no lighting, no running water (the river water is definitely not advised for use), no shops, and nothing but the sound of the bush all around you.

We are two friends. I would like to visit Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. Does your company arrange for us a tourist program and double cars with visa arrangement?

    Enjoying your videos as always.
Do you have to pre-book campsites at Gonarezhou or can you just arrive there and hope that there is space available?
We do not have a set itinary

We pre-booked our Gonarezhou campsites. There were quite a few vacant sites available when we were there (at Chinguli for example); however, there are some camps (e.g. Chilijo, Nyavasikana) which have just one or two sites so it would be advisable to book those. Seems like Gonarezhou is getting quite popular so booking will become more important.
