Unfortunately the losi pro mx is not the first bike to offer front brakes, that would be the Thunder Tiger SB5. Micro servo with carbon fiber brakes. Altho I would say they are the first to use a cable on their front brakes. Love watching the channel keep it up!
Something I haven't seen mentioned is the downside of the spektrum internals and battery. Gotta buy a special charger for them..... and the reviews on the charger that come with the green one is extremely slow and junk according to reviews on it. Please address this. Only reason I haven't ordered one. I have a traxxas live ID dual charger and don't want to have a special charger just for one vehicle.....
The old venom bike had a functional front disk brake & chain drive, losi wasn't the first. A lot of ppl have forgetten about that. The main difference is basically the location of the flywheel. The losi is still badass but it hasn't got as many firsts as is being made out.
I've been procrastinating leaving this comment for a few weeks. I ran into Nate and Abbie at their booth at HorizonFest 2023. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I mentioned I was a subscriber and Abbie immediately grabbed an RC Saylors t-shirt and handed it to me. (Thank you so much again!) I feel like they are doing great things for our hobby/hobbies. I also mentioned to them the appreciation I had for everything they do, the time they spend, even the bad news, tough break videos, where planes get damaged because, well... that's part of the hobby too.
The fact that Losi offer a graphics template is pretty cool. Can’t wait to see everyone make them look like their favourite brands. This is about the only thing that would tempt me to buy one.
Ive ridden street and dirt bikes for 54 years, and you actually counter steer a street bike above about 20 mph. It’s counter-intuitive, but that’s how the physics works out!
Many folks don’t know - full scale bikes turn left to go right and vice-versa at any speed the bike is capable of balancing. Move the wheel the opposite direction of the turn and it pushes the bike outwards of that direction making the turn automatic. Right turn: Handlebars left, bike leans right from inertia, then handlebars naturally go right afterwards completing the turn. Folks do this without even knowing they do it.
I learned about "Counter steering" for emergencies, when I started riding 50yrs ago, from some Cycle magazine article. When you want to go right immediately, you give the right handlebar a shove. This forces wheel to left, but bike immediately goes right because of gyroscopic effect on wheel. It was a funny thing to practice, but saved my life from a head-on collision. I did it automatically(actually closed my eyes for impact), but bike leaned, and avoided car. Buddy of mine saw the whole thing from behind, and thought I was dead also. He couldn't believe the bike leaned over, car went by, and bike came back upright, and was going straight down road again. All this @ 60mph! Someone was looking out for me!
It’s not the first bike to have a front disk breaking system. My thunder tiger nitro Ducati had a front disk break with a “metal “ disk. And that was over 10 years ago. But I am excited about this bike.
Thank you for the info. I'm glad someone explained the steering servo direction. I've seen so many videos with wrong info and people reversing servo. I'm guessing they never drove a real motorcycle to understand how it works.

Spokes on a real dirt bike's bend the same way as the ones on this RC bike its from jumping it to high an hard landings! Just a heads up cause i see you have bent spokes!!!

I see at 2:48 you have bent the front wheel spokes. See other channels have done the same. That jumping and landing on the front wheel first !!!! Bet Losi sell a lot of wheels.......... Keep the fun videos comin'

Nice vid mine arrived 2 days ago, but you are wrong on one point. RC bikes have had working disk brakes for decades literally. Have had 2 front and 1 rear on all of mine.

Can you possibly gear up on the pinion gear? Does this bike use a regular pinion setup? I changed the pinion on my X-rider BX4003 bike. And put a 3S Lipo in it. I have not clocked its speed. But, it is very fast.
100% correct,and its not all new ground breaking,its just a what one might say refined version in some ways of the vmx 450... shame the review people don't read comments before making claims.
FYI, this is not the first RC bike with front brake disc. This Losi bike is quite impressive. I prefer my Venom VMX 450, the quality is higher than this LOSI. Did you know that in 1:4 scale there was a ton of offraod RC bike ? The AR RACING ARX 540 (a fantastic model), the NUOVA FAOR CSF411, the RADIOSHACK CR250R (Ricky Carmichael), The X RIDER BX 4003 and 4004, The SKY RC Super Rider SR5, and other models more rare.
In a perfect world a set of Evel or Robbie Knievel leathers and a red white and blue color scheme on the bike would be awesome to the max. 🤔 guess someone could make that mod!! Thinkin’ of hittin that buy button. Thanks for all content on this revolutionary rc cycle.

Same here, but we are a little luckier here in the states, so I pulled the trigger. Saw all the CNC aluminum parts, and was happy and sad at the same time! Like you , I want them all, but probably only can only afford the footpegs! My drone and crawler budget just went all in on the motorcycle. Might take 6 months to save for the swingarm! Lol

Good question… OK, I do not have this model in hand myself, but out of technical thinking/judging about the construction of the bike, I am quite sure, that the bike technically is capable to make front wheelies, respectively front “stopies”… 😉😂😊…don’t know, what the correct word for this stunt is… But I am also quite sure, that this would need programming a new mode from ground of, because I assume, that status quo you can not individually use/control the front brake separated from all over braking… and this is, what would be needed for this particular stunt move… Because I am personally not a real motor-bike person or “expert”, so I say this only out of my understanding for physic and dynamic… 😉🧐 I think, since all the mechanical and electronical (ergo the hardware… 😉🧐) features are already in the bike, it will be possible for the “makers” to offer such an update (ergo programming/software 😉🧐) in the future… Keep on having a great RC FUN time…!!! 🍀 Thorsten 🌞 RACER - Budget RC Fun Team Germany 🍻 😉😂😊…
I need this RC ! I’ve actually modified a couple of the old Ricky Carmichael Rasio shack and installed all 3S electronics. The gyro system on that one is old school mechanical - inside the rear wheel .
I have the radio shack Ricky Carmichael one to. Steered into a fence and now it only steers one way. Do you know where I can get a new steering servo for it? Thanks
Great information on this awesome new rc mx. when jumping do you need to use throttle while it’s in the air to control how it lands? Or is it just jump and let the gyros go the work to keep it level.
On other rc motorbikes it will naturally nose down on a jump but you control bringing the back wheel down with a little throttle.for a level or rear wheel landing...👍
The question I have is about the spokes on the wheels. They look bent which I assume is from jumping it. Do the bent spokes cause the wheels to wobble and can they be fixed?
Hey Nate, Great videos on this bike. But they're only supplying 5000mah 50C batteries for now, because they don't have enough 5000mah 100C. They are on backorder, and HH says they will be supplying the recommended 100C battery at a later date. I ordered the red one, so I could buy my own 100C battery. Keep up the great work!
Got to wait till August in the UK 😢 For the money i think it's good value considering the technology involved and thinking back to my Mamod steam engine that cost four times as much comparatively.

Genau!! Fully agree, much rather have longer duration / cheaper price and 20% slower I have the SR5 which has same top speed, it really limits where u can use it, and dont expect it to turn tighter than a cricket pitch on grass at full speed! I fitted an electronic add on gyro and wheeled mini olio style stabilisers to mine a few yrs back and was in process of fitting electronic front brakes (good enough for 'stoppis'- didnt get around to it They both need better front end bite as speed increases to reduce large washed out, speed limiting turns The Losi takes the SR5 to the appropriate next level, incl better wheels and rider + more stabilised in flight Can we see you tune the front brake and demo progressiveness on grit and if powerful enough to stand bike on its nose on tarmac? Price is a significant hurdle for most and the reason the SR5 was forced to halve theirs. I see this better Losi version at £395 UK (incl gyro taming 'stoppy' when braking hard and better front end bite, feel free to lose 20% top speed to cover any costs)
Hi, Fully agree with you there, A bit more variety and not all about "speed" and how "cheap" a model is, I've got nearly 20 cars and never have i bothered to check how fast they go.
Make the esc deliver 7.4 volt to the receiver and make the gyro pull power from that the esc and motor can take 3s but the servo is a unknown for me but when i get my promoto mx home that the plan for me 🤗
The venom vmx 450 or mm450 made 11yrs ago has a fully functional front disc brake so that's definitely not a first ...it looks like basics was adapted from the vmx 450 but certainly refined in the new losi .
@@jrmbtri got a venom vmx 450 the front disc brake works exactly the same as the losi one via servo and cable...when the vmx first came out your right it wasn't operational but later models had this option,also not sure if the atomic mm 450 had this option but I think it did from launch.
Yeah the steering thing wasn't really explained in some videos so to understand when bike is In motion left is left and right is right makes me breathe a little easier as I'm patiently awaiting my pre-order (like most).
Are any of the commonly available battery connectors that are readily available compatible with the spectrum connector used in the bike? I'm not worried about the battery display on the transmitter.

Can the bike do any mid-air Corrections? Especially whips or anyting! I've seen every release of this on RUclips from every RUclips channel and everybody jumps the bike straight is the bike capable do of doing whips or stunts??!!. Please you guys if you could put that to the test would be awesome
I cannot get my bike to wheelie in wheelie mode. My street is a very coarse asphalt so there should be plenty of traction, right? It will wheelie in grass. Thank you for the great content over many different platforms.

I never clocked my stock kraton 4s. Does anyone know how fast it goes? It's plenty fast for me since I only have a strip of grass that is 150ft x 40ft in my back yard

Seen a metal swing arm get put on it and it looked very cool nice to see hop ups for it already👍🏼

No they don't lol it takes an unreal crash to bend them on a real dirt bike

When they make the rear disc operable you could do coaster wheelies.

OK, I do not have this model in hand myself, but out of technical thinking/judging about the construction of the bike, I am quite sure, that the bike technically is capable to make front wheelies, respectively front “stopies”… 😉😂😊…don’t know, what the correct word for this stunt is…
But I am also quite sure, that this would need programming a new mode from ground of, because I assume, that status quo you can not individually use/control the front brake separated from all over braking… and this is, what would be needed for this particular stunt move…
Because I am personally not a real motor-bike person or “expert”, so I say this only out of my understanding for physic and dynamic… 😉🧐
I think, since all the mechanical and electronical (ergo the hardware… 😉🧐) features are already in the bike, it will be possible for the “makers” to offer such an update (ergo programming/software 😉🧐) in the future…

I need this RC ! I’ve actually modified a couple of the old Ricky Carmichael Rasio shack and installed all 3S electronics. The gyro system on that one is old school mechanical - inside the rear wheel .
I have the radio shack Ricky Carmichael one to. Steered into a fence and now it only steers one way. Do you know where I can get a new steering servo for it? Thanks

X-rider bikes have a front disc brake btw. Long before Losi. I have one, and the Promoto too.
Great information on this awesome new rc mx. when jumping do you need to use throttle while it’s in the air to control how it lands? Or is it just jump and let the gyros go the work to keep it level.
On other rc motorbikes it will naturally nose down on a jump but you control bringing the back wheel down with a little throttle.for a level or rear wheel landing...👍

The question I have is about the spokes on the wheels. They look bent which I assume is from jumping it. Do the bent spokes cause the wheels to wobble and can they be fixed?

Hey Nate, Great videos on this bike. But they're only supplying 5000mah 50C batteries for now, because they don't have enough 5000mah 100C. They are on backorder, and HH says they will be supplying the recommended 100C battery at a later date. I ordered the red one, so I could buy my own 100C battery. Keep up the great work!

Got to wait till August in the UK 😢 For the money i think it's good value considering the technology involved and thinking back to my Mamod steam engine that cost four times as much comparatively.
I was ready to pre order until I saw the price for the spares and upgrades in the UK. New plastics and a rider outfit is £100, alloy hubs are ridiculously priced too and I'd want to buy them all so I'm holding off.

I have the SR5 which has same top speed, it really limits where u can use it, and dont expect it to turn tighter than a cricket pitch on grass at full speed!
I fitted an electronic add on gyro and wheeled mini olio style stabilisers to mine a few yrs back and was in process of fitting electronic front brakes (good enough for 'stoppis'- didnt get around to it
They both need better front end bite as speed increases to reduce large washed out, speed limiting turns
The Losi takes the SR5 to the appropriate next level, incl better wheels and rider + more stabilised in flight
Can we see you tune the front brake and demo progressiveness on grit and if powerful enough to stand bike on its nose on tarmac?
Price is a significant hurdle for most and the reason the SR5 was forced to halve theirs. I see this better Losi version at £395 UK (incl gyro taming 'stoppy' when braking hard and better front end bite, feel free to lose 20% top speed to cover any costs)

Make the esc deliver 7.4 volt to the receiver and make the gyro pull power from that the esc and motor can take 3s but the servo is a unknown for me but when i get my promoto mx home that the plan for me 🤗

The venom vmx 450 or mm450 made 11yrs ago has a fully functional front disc brake so that's definitely not a first ...it looks like basics was adapted from the vmx 450 but certainly refined in the new losi .
It had a chain but the disc up front was non operable.
@@jrmbtri got a venom vmx 450 the front disc brake works exactly the same as the losi one via servo and cable...when the vmx first came out your right it wasn't operational but later models had this option,also not sure if the atomic mm 450 had this option but I think it did from launch.
Yeah the steering thing wasn't really explained in some videos so to understand when bike is In motion left is left and right is right makes me breathe a little easier as I'm patiently awaiting my pre-order (like most).

It's called countersteering and it's the same way you steer a street bike at normal riding speeds

Can the bike do any mid-air Corrections? Especially whips or anyting! I've seen every release of this on RUclips from every RUclips channel and everybody jumps the bike straight is the bike capable do of doing whips or stunts??!!. Please you guys if you could put that to the test would be awesome

I cannot get my bike to wheelie in wheelie mode. My street is a very coarse asphalt so there should be plenty of traction, right? It will wheelie in grass. Thank you for the great content over many different platforms.
Start the wheelie going pretty slow, then try hopping it up on asphalt 👍💯😎⚓️
