Great job, this is almost the idea i had in my head. It was great to see your tips and tricks too! Im doing mine to save my seats from trips with my huskies, and give them a better platform that will take their abuse
Jason, 8 months since this response so you've had a while to test it I think. Have you had any issues without the panels being locked down like when breaking? They don't flip up or anything? Any concerns you've found? Thanks man.
So, I am doing a seat delete this summer, and am doing a DIY. Currently, I have the back storage taken out, so I have more access to the back for storage. But, I like the idea of leaving it open without the seats in. I can put a simple cargo net there, to keep stuff from coming loose. Great work! I LOVE the footings idea-so much so, I subbed, and will be stealing your dads idea ;)
Can't wait to see the Taco tour of the U.S.!!!! If you hit Minnesota take the 61 highway along the Mississippi River up to the north shore of Lake Superior. We also have the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Itasca state park. Bing plenty of bug spray!!!
My only problem is I’d want a better fit to the sides and the back of the front seats so the dog won’t get his/her legs in the gaps. My wife would never put our dog in a crate. Over all this is very similar to the design I have in my head. Only mine hinges from the back and I move the front seats forward swing the flats down. Then move the front seats back to take up the gaps. Did a very similar design in the back seat of our Corolla years ago for a cross country road trip.

Ended up building mine exactly the same. Thanks for a great functional design idea. 👍

@@patriotsedge6730 I’ve had no issues what so ever. I have my fridge mounted same as the video and my Kickass Power Pack mounted on the other.
Nice work . So cool to see you working with your dad . What a character 💪
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
“You know how it is guys I’m all over the place all the time” 😂 love it. Love the DIY dude, I’ve never seen it done like this before.
Hahaha glad you liked it!

I will have to come check it out! Can't want to start this journey as well!!
@@ModernDayViking Minnesota is worth the trip! East side has the best scenery. Hope to see ya!!
I have been planning on doing something like this for my dogs especially since they are getting older and no one rides in the back except for them
Really kool man !! Going to steal this idea to add a big subwoofer to my Tacoma because shallow subs suck lol
Awesome!!
Great video as always ❤
Thank you

Yeah that makes sense! I didn't want to go to far into it using the factory seat flips was a lot easier
Pretty cool idea!!!
Thank you!
Genius
Hahaha yeah!
that traction board mount set up is very impractical. You'll spend an hour unscrewing those mounts, for a 30 second use. You should reconsider that...
Are the seats for sale? lol
Pretty cool mod considering the back seats are basically useless lol
Right! Lol
How did you wire in your fridge?
I have a outlet in the back of my console that runs off the 400watt inverter.
I’d pay to have you make me both seat base so I can do a straight swap out and save a bunch of time
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woo woo
