Not really I got friend in town old Vietnam vet good guy. Owns an m2 continuous fire causes jams but if you fire in in 3 to 5 round bursts it doesent. It’s trigger discipline with that beast though because it’s fun as hell to just hold the trigger and spray.

The 50 can shoot through walls and thin armor and tipped rounds can shoot through a light tank like it was a soda can. The MG42 may be accurate and scary; but the Germans almost never wanted to fight a 50. You don't argue with a 50; it hits way harder and argues at a steady rate
Misconception. The .50 is not outlawed against infantry targets. We don't like employing them against infantry typically due to the potential for collateral damage. As you're aware, a human body isn't stopping that round. Nor is the one behind it.

That is why most militaries have different machineguns, they got heavy, medium, and light machineguns. The M2 browning would be a heavy, and can be used for anti light armored and anti soft skin vehicular purposes, shooting through cover and some fortifications, and such. MG 42, or the modern MG3 is a great medium machinegun as it uses a full rifle round like the 8mm mauser for the MG 42 or the 7.62x51 NATO for the MG3, and fires extremely fast, allowing for great fire suppression and anti light skinned vehicular purposes. The M249 Saw is a great light machinegun as it uses an intermediate cartridge 5.56x45 Nato and is great fire suppression. Another great medium machinegun would be the M60, also in 7.62x51 Nato.
Fun Fact: the German M24 Stickgrenade was actually quite the efficent grenade for the time, seeing as it's "Stick Shape" allowed it to be thrown much further than a regular grenade and a trooper didn't need a specialized harness to hold it, all they had to do was slip it into a belt, down a boot, along a suspender strap... If a soldier had enough straps or loops on their clothes, they could carry up to ten to twelve of those stick grenades at once. Their only real flaw was the fact that their "Priming Sequence" was _painfully_ inconvenient, requiring that one unscrews the bottom cap (Usually takes three turns), reach into the stick itself, snag the priming cord loop, pull it with a sharp yank, and _then_ prep to throw. That was it's only real flaw. It was otherwise a very good grenade that could be thrown at twice the distance as a smaller, more "Compact" grenade could, and It wasn't _that_ hard to make it more powerful, just take six of those blasting heads, take off their sticks and tie them around one more M24, and boom, you have a convenient anti-tank Grenade.
