I have hunted Coues deer for about 35 years. They are my passion. I have a few in the Pope and Young Record Book and I can tell you they are an enormous challenge with a bow. I have hunted them every way you can hunt them and spot and stalk is by far the biggest challenge. You can do it but it is extremely difficult. I’m 73 years old and my spot and stalk days are over. I hunt near water holes and well used trails and I have been fairly successful.
Those first two spots you guys hunted were super hard spots. That first spot I hunted about 8 days this season. There are some good bucks out there but a little further west of where you hiked in. If you end up coming out here again next year I'd be glad to show you around to some spots. Great video.
Confidence is key....lol They're a just a little harder than one would expect to get close to. They're like little 4 legged tweakers, always paranoid. Looks like you had a great time in beautiful country.
the 1st place you hunted is better than the 2nd, from tucson, the 1st place ive hunted several times harvested a 104, my friend killed the #4 coues b&c there, leave reply if interested in talking, thats anyone
74 years old & have hunted Coues since 1961. Admire your persistence. God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏❤
Good Video! Coues Deer are some of the hardest deer to hunt, especially bowhunting.
Thank you! We had a blast! We can't wait to get back out there this December!
@@BowOnlyOutdoors I have a December hunt too what unit do you guys have

With a bow water is key. Maybe not as exciting as spot and stalk but it's a good option.

Did anyone notice the coues standing on the rock like 15-20 yards behind Zack at 17:44.
Yes! Those were the does that walked right behind Zach. Such a cool experience that’s for sure!
I going to try my luck in January 2022 I hope. Keep up the good work, I love what these kind of videos.
@@ironbulldog16 thank you and Goodluck next January! They are a blast to hunt.
LOL I just commented that there was a deer behind him. Makes sense he was in the shadows and the thermals were pulling down the mountain.
Where is that waterfall?
Reddington pass. East Tucson
Hey man I think you need to get a bigger backpack, the one you are using is a tad small for the type of hunting you are doing!
Haha it is a little big for what we were doing but have to make do with what we have!
You don't always get them good try man better luck next time but like myself I go out there for the scenery and the good time
What part of Arizona
Tucson
Looked like unit 33 and 34a
The deer must be deaf in Nebraska
Haha, why do you say that?
@@BowOnlyOutdoors you guys are extremely loud for Couse
@@brownguy985 hopefully we can be quieter this year and increase our odds! They are definitely spooky deer that’s for sure.
@@BowOnlyOutdoors good luck! They’re called the grey ghosts of the desert for a reason
@@brownguy985 they are definitely spooky! Only makes them all that much more fun to hunt.
